Headshots are a photo of an actor giving the casting directors an idea what you look like. They are expensive depending on what you define as expensive.
This chapter stated before that you can use your school photos as Headshots or a picture from SnapChat. That is a very bad idea, most agency want a professional photo.
School photos and maybe even Snap Chat selfies can pass when solo job searching. Not with an agency. When you begin signing to an agency it gets more serious.
Again, submitting a selfie might have gotten you by when you were looking for work by yourself, but it won't when signing to an agency.
You are their brand and they want you to look the best you can be. There is a huge difference between a Student film and a Pilot episode. It's a different ball game. You have to bring your all or your not ready.
