"I don't think your parents like me." Lucas says.
"Give them time Lucas. For my parents I'm still a baby. It takes them a while to trust someone, especially with their baby girl." I say. "Think about how your parents will be when Mia introduces them a significant other. I'm pretty sure in your eyes Mia is still a baby." I explain to him.
"I'm kind of glad that your brother wasn't at the dinner with us." He says.
"It wasn't that bad." I tell him.
"Wasn't that bad? They were basically eating me alive with questions and they were eyeing me." He says.
"Calm down. Want me to tell you why they were actually doing that?" I ask.
"Enlighten me." He says.
"They're for the first time intimidated that their little girl has found the one. The one who has her wrapped around his fingers, that can fiddle her how ever he may please. That they won't have any control to protect her if he plans on harming her." I say.
"They're intimidated by me?" He asks surprised.
"Yeah Lucas, they are. I know my brother is too, I can read it in his eyes. He's seen me in my worst and doesn't want to see me that way, that's why he's doing everything in his power to not let his little sister get hurt again. Not on his watch." I say.
"Did you get hurt under his watch?" He asks.
"Yes, I did. Y/b/n (your/brothers/name) had a friend named Jake. Jake would come over, he was a family friend. Jake started taking a certain interest in me and we dated in secret then we let our family know and long story short Jake took everything I had and ruined me cause I let him. Y/b/n blames himself for it, but I don't. I learned from it, but Y/b/n doesn't see it that way. He feels guilty since it was his friend, one of his best friends who hurt his little sister and he should of seen it coming." I say.
"That's why Y/b/n is so protective." He whispers.
"Yeah. That's why Y/b/n is so protective, not only him but my parents. My parents were actually great friends with Jakes family, but he cheated and everything went down hill. I mean Jakes sister Emily is still dating my brother but other than that everything went downhill." I say.
"He was a dick for cheating on you. But I'm glad that it happen cause you're here with me now. Not that I'm glad you got hurt by-" I pull him into a kiss.
"I totally feel the same way." I say after we pull away from the kiss. "We live and we learn, right?" I say.
"Right." He pulls me into an other kiss.
"Now can we move on from this 'ohh my life sucks so much because I think my girlfriends family hates me, ohh so much' because baby we can be doing something else." I say.
"I wasn't like that." He says defensively.
"Ohh yes you were." I say nodding my head.
"Fine. What's the other thing that we could totally be doing?" Lucas asks grinning.
"We can." I smile at him.
"Not again." He looks at me. I give him a smile.
"Watch Quantico." I say.
"Ugh fine." Lucas says.
"Hey calm down, I had to hear you rant that my family had it out for you and didn't like you." I say.
"I'm not complaining." Lucas says.
"Better not." I laugh.
