Sulking, I pushed my eyebrows down and crossed my arms across my chest. "This isn't funny in the slightest. I'm being serious. I want you to ask me out. My clock is ticking. If I don't get a ring on this finger soon, I'll wither away and die lonely and pitiful. My life will be written off as a heart-breaking tale, joyless and cheap. I need love to feel alive, to feel a sense of worth."
He furrowed his brow over a perturbed gaze. "You're asking me to marry you?"
I half rolled my eyes skyward. "No,"
He relaxed, shoulders falling in relief. "Thank God."
"I'm just saying I wouldn't mind a diamond ring on my finger and an official label to our relationship. I don't know how long I can wait around for you. My eyes are wandering." My mouth split into an impish smile and I stepped back. "You should eat the pizza. It's getting cold."
"Wander your eyes back to me, sweetheart," he took a step forward, unamused by my teasing. His hands rested on my hips and he pulled me into his chest. "I'll buy you a ring. Whatever you want."
"Cool." I moved out of his hold once more, expression apathetic, displeased.
"You're angry,"
"You're a psychic."
"I don't want to rush into a relationship."
"OK." I made to walk away.
"Shay," he grabbed my forearm, tugging me back to his chest roughly, hands cupping my face, mouth brushing against my own.
I jerked back. "Stop."
Aggravated, he exhaled. "What?"
"I don't want you to touch me."
"And yet not too long ago, you were cursing at me for refusing to fuck you,"
"Times have changed."
"So have attitudes," he flung back.
"But not your excuses," I smiled sarcastically.
He scoffed softly, wiped a hand over his mouth, gaze flickering away and then back at me. "You know how much I love begging," his lips quirked upwards into a sinful smile, "I'm sure you understand what I'm saying to you, don't you, Shay?"
"I hope you suffocate in your sleep tonight." Splenetic, I stormed over to the door. With my hand on the door handle, I turned around, intending to say a couple more curse words. Cole was right behind me, his arms circled my waist and he lifted me up in the air.
"I'm going to fuck you like the dirty cock-loving slut you are," he murmured throatily into my ear, "and then tomorrow I'm going to make love to you and I'm going to tell you how much I love you, and we'll spend the day together and you'll realise I don't need to ask you anything; your place is right next to me. You belong to me." My back hit the mattress none too gently, and he climbed on top of me, pinning both arms above my head, flashing a wicked grin. "I was teasing you too, sweetheart. Two can play the game. Now beg."
