Mark and Jack were best friends they would always there for each other when they needed it. Jack knew about Marks 'gift'. Jack was probably the happiest five year old ever. He was the only heir to the throne and his family treated Mark like their own. Jack woke up early, as did Mark and the two went down to the hall as quiet as possible. "Mark show me your gift again please." Begged Jack.

"Fine just don't tell your parents." Mark complied to the younger boys wish and made it snow inside.

"Wow it's so cool I wish I could do it." Jack giggled happily, he started running around the hall. With the ice on the floor it was like he was skating. "Lift me!' Jack exclaimed happily.

Are you sure?" Mark questioned. He had tried this before but it didn't really end up well.

"Yes it's so fun when you do!" Jack was nearly screaming at this point so Mark had to tell him to be quiet.

"If you say so Jack." Mark pointed to the bottom of Jacks feet and snow slowly rose him up. Jack squealed in excitement as the tower rose higher and higher.

"Catch me!" He shouted and took Mark by surprise when he jumped off the tower that had been piled high with snow.

"W-wait Jack I'm not ready!" Mark was flustered trying to make sure his friend didn't get hurt. Just before he hit the ground Mark stuck his hand out in Jack direction to try catch him. A blast of ice expelled from his palm as the bolt made its way towards Jack. It hit him dead centre of his head and he hit the floor unconscious. Mark could only look on in horror as a strand of Jacks hair turned green. "Mrs McLoughlin!, Mr McLoughlin! Someone help I've done something terrible!" Mark was panicking so much that the cold became apparent and snow had started to fall faster.

Jack's parents burst into the room at lightning speed and went over to their son. "Oh my baby boy," Jacks mother cooed while stroking Jack's soft hair. "He's freezing." The queen quickly announced.

"Ok follow me, you too Mark we need to go somewhere." The king rushed out the door of the hall and into the stables where they grabbed two horses. Jack rode with his mother in her arms, while the Mark was on the back of the kings horse.

The horses rode as fast as they could to a forrest. The horse Mark was on left a trail of ice as they rode through the kingdom. It was early so no one saw the trail that it left.

But one boy did. He gazed in awe as the horses past. Particularly the horse Mark was on. He urged his reindeer to follow him. The boy followed behind keeping close to the edge of the road. He hid behind a rock as he watched the scene unfold before him.

They came to an abrupt stop and the king and queen charged of their horses. The queen cradled Jack in her arms as they ran into the centre of three rings. A wise man came out of seemingly nowhere. As the man approached the four he spoke. "I sense pain within your boys head there." He gestured to Jack.

"Yes, can you help us please, we plead for his life." The king spoke worriedly and quickly.

"Yes I can but I need to do something specific to him," The man took a pause before continuing. "That boy there has a gift. I'm sure you're aware of that but your son cannot remember this after what I have to do, right you need to come here," He pointed to Mark. "What's your name?" The man asked.

"M-Mark." He stuttered nervously.

"Okay listen close Mark, you need to keep your gift under control. You see, you could have killed that boy."

The words made Mark gasp and stumble back. He could have killed his best friend. "I-I didn't know he. Oh god what have I done." He fell to his knees with his head in his hands. This was a lot to put on a six year old.

"Hey it's ok I can heal him but you'll need to hide you powers. I'm sorry." The man was quick to say.

"How do I control it?" He looked up at the men with red eyes and tear tracks.

"You can wear gloves which will stop you from freezing things and have you heard the expression conceal don't feel." The man looked down and Mark looked at him confused. "It means if you don't think about it nothing bad will happen."

'Conceal don't feel.' Mark repeated those words over and over again in his head.

The man walked back to Jack's parents and began to help the boy. The images of the times Mark had used his powers with Jack had been replaced by other scenes like Christmas ones playing in the snow and not using marks powers in the ballroom. The boy shifted and a smile appeared on his face signalling he was dreaming. The boys parents breathed out in relief as it signalled he was still alive and breathing. Mark was still trying to think through what he could do to keep everyone safe. Since marks parents had died when he was younger the McLoughlin's had welcomed him as their own.

Time skip (one of many if you've watched frozen)

Jack wondered why Mark hadn't come out of his room to play in a while. He wondered if he had done something but he couldn't think of what he had done.

Mark was wandering around his room looking out the only window that hadn't been blacked out or boarded up in the castle. He looked out of it with his hands on the window sill gazing at the scene in front. He sighed upset that he couldn't leave or else he would hurt someone. As he thought the window sill had started to get cold, he looked down just as it turned to ice and he pulled his hands away huffing.

Jack knocked on his best friends door. "Mark do you want to come out and play?"

He asked hoping he would get an answer but all he heard was a muffled. "Go away Jack." From the other side of the door.

"What did I do? I'm sorry." Pleaded Jack. It broke Marks heart to hear those words even though Jack had done nothing wrong.

"Just go away." Mark said with a heavy heart.

"Okay bye." Jack said as he started to walk away.

————————3 years later——————

Jack continued to come every day to Marks door until it was winter his favourite time. He hadn't given up on getting Mark to come out and play but he was getting more lonely each day. He wasn't allowed to go out side and he wondered why he wasn't allowed, it annoyed him. "Hey Mark guess what time of year it is. It's winter!" He called excitedly. He doubted Mark cared about what time it was. "Do you want to build a snowman?" He had asked that question every year when winter came.

"Please go away Jack." Was the answer he got but in a different wording.

"I feel some company is overdue, I've started talking to the pictures on the wall. One person's name is Joan." He sighed, he put his hand on the door to find it unnaturally cold. He pulled his hand back surprised from the cold shock he got.

Mark sat in the corner of his half ice coated room it was cold but he didn't care it never bothered him anyway. (You see what I done. Sorry) He was having more trouble with his powers and his naturally black hair had started to turn blue at the tips from what he could see out of his mirror.

————————10 years later———————

Jack had heard the news from when his parents had gone on a trip their boat crashed and no survivors were found. He had stopped going to Marks door since he never answered but he needed him more than anything now. He walked the hallway of Marks room which now coated in dust and cobwebs since they had shortened their staff quite sufficiently. He knocked on the door for the first time in five years and started talking. "Please, I know your in there. People have been asking where you've been, they speak of courage and I'm trying to, I'm right out here for just let me in," He sunk down against the door back to it and continued. "Do you want to build a snowman? It doesn't have to be a snowman." Was the last thing he said before putting his head in hands and sobbing.

Mark's room was now freezing from what he could tell it probably was. The window he used to look out was now a block of hard ice. He didn't know what he looked like anymore, like everything else the had mirror froze over. From what he could tell his hair was blue now, no black anywhere. He sat with his head against the door as he heard Jack cry. "I'm sorry." He whispered before he started to cry as well.

(I'm going to start editing the chapters. Not everything will be corrected and I will miss things. Also I never explained why Mark's hair is blue instead of red which would be the colour when I published this, the idea was that ice is known as a bluish colour and Mark had blue hair at one point so I thought it would suit the story best. Be prepared for spam of me doing editing on this now. Ok bbaaaaiiii)
