"How was school cutie?" He gushes cuddling you cheerfully.
"I think I made a demon friend today." You answer, showing him the textbook. He stops, becoming serious suddenly.
"Stay away from demons ___... They're bad news." He tells you. You blink and frown.
"No. Everyone says that about everyone, I'll make my own mind up." You reply, surprising him.
"....You're so grown up! My little human!!" He gushes hugging you happily. You're pulled away from his grasp and blink back at Kid.
"Would you stop being clingy old man? Leave her alone." The werewolf scolds, setting you down to the side.
"You're one to talk, you've been getting even closer to-" Kid throws a clove of garlic at his face. "GAH! When did you get that!?"
"I carry them around now for when you do or say something I don't like." Kid deadpans before leading you out.
Shanks scoffs watching you both go out. "How much longer are you going to fight it...?"
"Kid, You okay?" You peer at his face. He blinks and looks at you.
"Yeah, why?" He raises an eyebrow. You tilt your head to his hand on the small of your. "Oh... Sorry..." He takes his hand back. "I'm going to leave tomorrow."
"Oh, is it that time again?" You tilt your head.
"Yeah, so make sure to take care of things here while I'm gone..." He shrugs.
"Okay Kid, have fun on your trip!" You smile up at him. He smiles back, putting a hand over your eyes briefly before leaving you alone. You were rather sad whenever he left on those trips every month. You blink and gasp, "Shit... That means I'm about to start...." You mutter, hurrying to your room.
Kid sighs running a hand through his hair as he packs his backpack. "You've sighed three times since you came in. Is it really bothering you this time?" Killer asks sharpening his scythe.
"She's been having those nightmares a lot lately. What if she has one while I'm gone and needs me?... I hate that I still can't control it..." He murmurs.
"I'll keep an eye one her if you want, though it would help if she had a permanent sleeping companion."
"I can do that just not when it's that time..." He trails off before bursting with frustration, "Dammit! This is bullshit! Why is this a thing!?" He growls covering his eyes.
"Take it easy Kid, Its only for a few days... And you always seem to like how she greets you when you return." Killer tries to soothe.
"That is true... And she can call... Although I won't be able to return..." He sighs looking at his cellphone.
"She'll be fine, don't worry." Killer chuckles.
"What are you chuckling about?" Kid gives him a frown.
"It just seems like it's getting harder for you to stay away at these times, it must be hard to be imprinted." The reaper comments.
"Shut up. I'm not imprinted." Kid growls focusing on packing.
"Sure...."
"Guys! Ace and I got fresh veggies for dinner!" You chime carrying in a basket with Ace trailing behind smiling.
"That's great ___~~ You're so cute~~" Sanji gushes, taking the basket.
"Oh, Sanji! Do your hoof thing!" You request cheerfully. He smiles, hooves expertly drumming on the floor. You hum dancing along to the beat, making Ace chuckle lightly. Luffy and Nami soon join you then Ace and Sabo. All dancing uniquely. Sanji smiles at that as Killer drums along. Kid watches with a small smile. Zoro leans through the window to watch the show as well.
You stop, breaking out in giggles with the others. "___, you're so cute." Zoro comments. You blink and blush in surprise while he catches himself. ".... For a potato..."
"That was almost nice...." Shanks comments, coming in. "Oh! Angel~ Guess who's coming over for dinner?" He coos to you. You blink and grin.
"Mihawk!!" You cheer rushing out happily.
"Why don't you get that excited about me?!" He whines after you.
"Maybe if you disappear for a few days she will." Kid smirks.
"....You're right! I'll go with you on your trip!" Shanks decides.
"....What? No!" Kid gasps.
You open the door just as Mihawk lands on the driveway. You grin and run out to him, hugging his neck happily. He rumbles in amusement, hugging you back. "You never greet me like this at school." He comments when you pull back to give him a grin.
"That's because I don't want to ruin your reputation." You tell him.
"And you bring the other teachers food."
"I feed you every time you come over Mihawk.... But I guess I can bring you snacks too since you feel that way." You tilt your head thoughtfully. He smiles at that.
"Bring me wine." He requests as you lead him inside.
"But I'll get in trouble." You frown.
"Then I'll turn them into a piglet." He chuckles kissing your knuckle. "That aside how have you been my dear?" He inquires.
"I'm great," You offer a smile.
"I noticed the chimera has been giving you a cruel look in class often. Is he being civil with you?" He asks.
"Yeah, don't worry about me Mihawk." You tell him before swiftly leading him into the kitchen. He frowns as you swiftly wash your hands before helping Sanji with dinner. Then he notices Shanks' pouting glare.
"What?" Mihawk questions the vampire.
"He's jealous that ___ always greets you happily," Sabo whispers to him.
"Oh... Well of course she does, we've always had a good relationship." Mihawk smirks.
"Are you bragging...?" Shanks frowns more.
"No, I'm stating facts," Mihawk responds, smiling a bit when you look back at him.
"Mihawk, you wanna try some?" You offer him a bite. He smiles taking a bite while Shanks whines loudly for attention.
"This is delightful as always." Mihawk rumbles and Kid tosses a garlic clove into Shanks' mouth making him cough and sputter.
"Stop being noisy, no wonder she ignores you." The werewolf snaps making you blink.
"Kid, what's wrong? Are you hungry?" You look at him as you continue cooking. He shifts looking away.
"Its nothing." He scoffs. You frown at that offering him a piece of meat. He glances at it before taking it and eating still not looking at you. You pout at that, leaning on him while you cut vegetables.
"Are you mad?" You murmur.
"No.... What are you making anyway?" He asks.
"Your favorite since you will be gone." You beam at him.
"What.... I'm going with him..." Shanks pouts.
"You are? I guess I'll make your desert then." You hum. He lights up at that.
"Tch. I don't want you to come." Kid growls at him.
"It'll be fun! Like a father and son outing!" Shanks chimes. Kid growls more until you lean in near his ear.
"Please take him, so I can spring clean. I'll make you a bunch of snacks when you return." You whisper.
"Fine, but his return isn't my responsibility." He murmurs back, turning his head to you so your eyes locked. You smile and lick his cheek at that. "Gah! Don't do that!" He scolds wiping at his cheek with a blush.
"Hehe thanks Kid." You chime as you finish the meal. "To the table everyone!"
After dinner you walk Mihawk out with a smile. "The meal was lovely as always... I'll see you tomorrow." He rumbles offering a smile in return.
"Of course, I'll bring you a snack." You smile cheerfully.
"___, I know you don't want us to worry... But if someone is treating you harshly, please let us help." He breathes.
"No... Everyone has their coping methods, if targeting me is a way to relieve pain or anger then I'll take it, as long as it's just me." You shrug still smiling. He frowns and sighs in defeat.
"Its moments like this when I have to refrain my admiration for your kind nature." He grumbles and you tilt your head in question and he looks at you. "Why must you be so cute? And kind?"
"Are you feeling okay?" You ask in confusion.
"I'm fine, see you later." He grips hand briefly before taking out his staff, making the black and purple orb glow as he kicks off and disappears over the tree tops. You shrug and look toward the rising sun before heading inside to your room.
A blood red wolf sits in front of your door waiting for you. "Kid? You want to sleep with me tonight?" You murmur in surprise.
"Might as well if it keeps that damn nightmare away." He rumbles before going into your room and hopping onto the bed. You blink and smile a bit before going over and crawling in with him.
"Goodnight Kid." You murmur, already drifting off.
"Sleep tight ___." He watches you fall asleep before taking his human form and covering you up more, watching your face silently. "I don't think I'll sleep tonight. I don't want to miss a thing...."
