So sorry! this chapter is overdue for a LONG time! But I was caught up in society activities and well, Christmas, and then I have my exams. But everything is more or less done now! So hopefully I will get back on schedule with this story <3

so how do everyone think about the cast change? Would you like Sarah Bolger or Shaileen Woodley as Abigail better? I was thinking about Willa holland as well. Give a shout about your preference!

-----------------------------------------------

'Hello Abigail.' a voice said, scaring me so much that I nearly jumped out of my skin. I didn't remember hearing the door being open at all. I turned around slowly to see a woman staring right at me.

She was one of the most beautiful woman I have ever seen, with dark auburn hair that curl nicely and pretty blue eyes. She was dressed in a nice shirt and black suit trousers and smiling at me nicely.

'Hi.' I managed to answer back. She looked like one of those big movie stars, and she probably would be one if the World Enders didn't drop off.

'Hi, I am Miss Sewell. I know you must be really confuse and reluctant to leave right now. I don't know how much Nigel and the Mayor of London had told you, but I am here to explain things to you properly and talk about the cover story you need to tell your parents.'

I nodded, she smiled satisfyingly at me, probably just glad that I wasn't screaming or doing anything out of control like Nigel said the others had done before me.

'OK, so the story we will be telling your parents would be that you fainted during the evacuation when the Legre tried to attack you, but thankfully the police arrived in time and you were unharmed. Then you were taken to the hospital where you went through some detailed medical checks to make sure you were alright, and the doctors found out from your CAT scan that you have a much higher IQ than average people, so they called the School of Medical and Science and we flew in to see you, and we were so please with you that we decided to offer you a place. But the problem was that the waiting list for next year was so long that you had to either start right away or not at all. It would be obvious that you parents would be willing to let you go if you said you wanted to go.' Miss Sewell said in one long paragraph. I nodded at her now and then as she spoke to show that I was up to pace with what she was saying.

The School of Medical and Science is the top institute for any students all around the world nowadays. It focused on training the brightest young people from all over the world with the top technologies in the world. It produces the best doctors, surgeons and researchers in the entire world. It was the school that every parents dream their kids would get into to get out of poverty and reach the top of the pyramids.

I actually dream about going there before, studying genetics and mutation so that I could become a researcher to help the poor handicapped young children in the hospitals and also to understand the reason behind my power. It's kind of funny how I would be pretending to go there now but instead would be going to an Academy for people like me.

I knew my parents would be overjoyed by the news and let me go, even though I had to go immediately and they would miss me terribly. But they still have Dan and they knew a chance like these would probably not happen again. that's because it's not even true.

By the time Miss Sewell finish telling me all the details of the cover story we were already at my house. We got off together and I realised that she didn't have any of her bodyguards with her. I looked at her questioningly but she didn't seemed to notice. Right, I forgot I was the mind-reader here. Haha. Even making jokes now about my situation seemed quite half-hear ted and lame.

She rung the doorbell and we stood on the porch for few seconds before someone answered the door. The door opened and my mother was standing behind it. Her face lit up when she said I was standing outside the door.

'Abby, thank god you are alright!' She said and was about to hug me when she caught sight of Miss Sewell, who gave a very timely cough. My mum stopped halfway and straighten back up, putting on a polite smile and turned to Miss Sewell. 'Hi, are you someone from the hospital bring Abby back? Thank you so much! You could have just called us.'

'Hi, you must be Mrs Beckett. I am actually a teacher at the School of Medical and Science here to talk to you about Abigail.' Miss Sewell put on her best smile and showed my mum a badge which I assume would be her fake teacher ID. She extended a hand to my mother, whose smile changed into a genuine one when School of Medical and Science was mentioned and shook Miss Sewell's hand.

'Come on in then.' She said and stepped aside to let Miss Sewell and me into the house, but not before she shot me a questioning look. I shrugged at her and mouthed you'll see back, I didn't want to say too much in case it conflicts with what Miss Sewell says later.

Miss Sewell settled down at the sofa gracefully while my mum went to fetch my dad from his study. As if on cue the last member of my family skipped happily into the room.

'Abbbbbbbby!' Dan screamed and tackled me when he saw me sitting on the sofa, causing me to be crushed back and knocking the wind out of me. This kid looked too small to be this strong. 'Are you okay? Mun and Dad said you got injured and you couldn't come home and we couldn't go and visit you? So are you okay now? You are not really sick are you?' Dan shoved his face into my stomach and started muffling into my jumper.

'Yes, I am fine now.' I laughed and ruffled his hair, he wiggled his head into my stomach that feels like he was attempting to wipe his face on my jumper. I laughed again, then felt a stare on me with realised with a jolt that Miss Sewell was looking at me with an amused look on her face.

Feeling slightly embarrassed by the PDSA (public display of sibling affection, that's what Elizabeth called it) I gently removed Dan from my lap just as my parents re-entered the room.

'Hi Mr Beckett.' Miss Sewell stood up and said, shaking hands with my father. Dan looked startled to see a stranger in our home and ran to hide behind my mother immediately.

We all sat back down on the sofa while Dan still clinging onto mum. Miss Sewell had a smile on her face the whole time while my family looked nervous.

'I am a teacher from The School of Science and Medicine.' She began, clasping her hands together in front of her. My parents tensed at the school name and leaned closer to Miss Sewell listening more intently. Even Dan pulled his face out from my mum's back to listen.

'We are here to offer Miss Beckett a place in our school.' She continued, I could see that my parents are overjoyed at that sentence. It took quite a lot for me not to roll my eyes at them. I couldn't really say me and my parents are close, but we got on fairly well. And I know them very well. Its very typical of them to be excited by this.

'We discovered that Miss Beckett has an unusually high IQ than average so we flew in to conduct an interview with her, that's why she has been kept for so long without being allow visitors.' Miss Sewell talked on, sounding so matter-of-fact that even I started to believe that that was exactly what happened.

'However our school has been full and the waiting list is huge. So if Miss Beckett were to attend our school she would have to start immediately, packing and leaving with me by tonight.' Miss Sewell added, then seeing the slightly hesitate expression on my parents' face. 'this is a very rare opportunity, Mr and Mrs Beckett. Many other students all over the world will kill for this chance.'

My parents looked at me, I gave them a nodded to say that I do want to go. My parents turned to looked at each other with some sort of mental silence exchange.

'Can we have a moment?' mum smiled apologetically at Miss Sewell and gestured for me to follow my dad and her to the hallway.

'Do you want to go? Because we are not going to make you go if you don't want to.' My mum said quickly, but I could totally see that she really wanted me to go. My dad, on the other hand, seemed a bit skeptical.

'Honey, are you sure she is a teacher from the school? It all just seems so sudden and random, not what I would expect from a school like this at all.' my father said, frowning in the direction of the living room.

I smiled inwardly to myself, right on dad. This really wasn't the School of Medicine and Science, but something else entirely.

'Richard, she showed us her teacher licenses, who else could she be?' My mother rolled her eyes at my dad, who gave her a shrug in return. I couldn't help but replay my mum's words in my head. Yeah mum, who else could she be?

'Alright then.' My dad said, looking a bit uncomfortable. 'You better pack your things and get going.'

I nodded, my family had never been the type that was good with the whole emotional and affectionate thing, maybe with the exception of Dan. They went back into the living room, presumably to talk more about the school with Miss Sewell while I headed upstairs to pack.

Pulling out an ancient suitcase that I knew existed in the attic (like anyone can travel anywhere these days. NOT) and started piling up stuff from my room into it mechanically, my brain somewhere else entirely. I just couldn't believe I am going to this POE Academy like this, without a fight. I mean, what do I even know about that place? For all I know it really can be a facade and they are just going to dissect me once I get there!

I involuntarily shuddered at the thought, but I knew what I saw from the Prime Minister and Nigel's mind that it wasn't true. So I took some deep breath to calm myself down and continued to pack.

To be honest I wasn't sure about what I would need to bring to a place like that. Miss Sewell hadn't really talked about this to me either. So I was just going through my day mentally and putting all the stuff that I would have use into the suitcase.

'Why are you packing? Are you leaving?' I heard a voice behind me and turned around to see Dan sticking his head out at my doorway looking at me. I tried to put on an encouraging smile and nodded at him.

'Yes Dan, I have been accepted in the School of Medicine and Science so I have to go there immediately.' I replied. Dan just stood there looking at me, not fully understanding.

'But you just got back.' He whispered, then barreled into me hugging my legs.

'Oh sweetie, don't worry, I will be back!' I said, patting his head, but not entirely convincing myself with that either.

'Take care mum and dad while I am gone OK?' I said, my voice choking in the back of my throat. I ruffled his hair and he nodded into my stomach. I could feel tears welling up in the back of my head but I refused to let them loose. I was not going to cry over this like a baby.

'Come on Abigail, we should get going or we will miss our flight.' Miss Sewell's voice rung across the house and I gave Dan a tight squeeze before letting him go. I then do a quick spot check around the room to make sure I didn't leave anything behind. I had never packed before, so hopefully I got all the stuff that I needed.

Dragging my suitcase downstairs wasn't easy, I felt like my heart grew heavier and heavier as I trotted down the stairs and I just wanted to screaming at Miss Sewell, telling her to hell with the whole POE crap, I just want to stay home. But another part of me was glowing in anticipation, wondering about what might be waiting for me in this other world.

'All ready?' Miss Sewell asked me. I could tell from the emotion weaving off her mind that she was bored, slightly annoyed and just wanted to get out.

'As ready as I'll ever be.' I muttered, Miss Sewell gave me a mini glare before turning to my parents and shaking hands with them saying goodbye.

'Bye mum, bye dad.' I said, feeling that familiar sensation of a lump being stuck in my throat again. My dad gave me a half hug and patted me on my head while my mum gave me and long, tight hug.

'Behave yourself, and e-mail us.' My mum said, I nodded. Dan was standing behind my parents looking like he was going to cry.

'Can you give this to Elizabeth for me? And tell her I said bye.' I said, my voice shaking slightly and hand my mum a letter that I managed to scribble down for Elizabeth telling her the 'official story'. My mum nodded and I followed Miss Sewell outside with my suitcase.

The car was still waiting outside for us and the driver put my luggage in the truck. I got into the car quickly, before I had any second thoughts.

'Let's go to the airfield. Call the pilot and tell him that we are taking off as soon as we arrived.' Miss Sewell said to the driver whom nodded in reply. I turn my eyes to the house and the driver pulled away. I had a sinking feeling in my heart that despite what Miss Sewell promised about coming home on holidays, this was probably the last time in a very long while, if not forever, that I would ever see the house that I grew up in.

'Don't worry dear, you are going to fit right in at POE Academy.' Miss Sewell must had sensed my nervousness and said. However, she forgot that I could read her mind. Which had a completely different idea to what she conveyed.

She is not going to last a week in that place.

I guess we will see about that.
