A girl from my psychology class worked at the hospital. Or she volunteered there... something like that. I just remember recognizing her. She called me today and told me a family came by to see Emma with the police.
It actually got me wondering for a second. Maybe she wasn't alone. Maybe Sam The Stranger wasn't the only one watching out for her.
But then the girl, Nicky, told me that it didn't last long. Emma wasn't the girl they were looking for. She added that they moved her to another room, too. Since it didn't look like she was going to wake up anytime soon.
Only when we hung up did it occur to me that I was now the one the hospital called to give updates on her condition.
That this responsibility I felt for her has kindof become real.
