I woke up, trapped. I can't move, I can't move. Then I realised. I was in Phil's arms. I relaxed. His arms were strong but secure, making me feel safe. Our bodies were tangled in each others'. Phil started to wake, and I bit my lip, hoping he didn't notice me watching him sleep.
He sat up. "How are you feeling, Dan?" His voice was really soothing, how did I never notice that?
"Dan?" He looked at me expectantly.
"Oh-" I shook my head. "I'm fine, just a little hungry."
"Me too, what do you want?" He smiled. He never smiles. My eyes started travelling down his wrist. His band was switching between a very dark pink and yellow, then going back to black.
"I'll have pancakes-" I started, when I remembered what Phil had done for me. "Actually, I'll go get some breakfast. What do you want?"
He looked around, thinking, and finally answered, "I'll have pancakes, too."
I nodded and started walking down the hall to go get some breakfast. I ran into the doctor that came into my room a few days ago. "Are you looking for breakfast?" He asked.
"Yeah," I responded.
He pointed me down the right directions and got the food for Phil.
We sat together on the bed, eating our breakfast.
He sighed sadly, saying, "Dan, I don't think my band will ever change color."
I thought his words, and replied, "Don't give it up just yet, stay grand."
Phil's expression softened a little, and he looked at me. "Dan, I never want to lose you."
