Chapter 8

(Model Dustin McNeer, my idea of Sebastian.)

Etienne

As night time approached, I could feel my body waking up, but I still laid there in the middle of my massive bed for another few minutes. I felt refreshed from my day sleep, but my mind was still unsettled with the information Jacques had provided me about Morgan and his coven of witches activities. That old witch never knew when to leave well enough alone. He'd always had delusions of grandeur. He'd always felt that witches were superior to vampires because unlike us, they walked during the day and they didn't need blood to survive. Morgan was an elitist through and through, never believing in mixing interspecies relationships of any kind.

If I had to be honest, there was no love lost between Morgan and I. I'd just respected the pact that the elders had made between the Vampire and the Warlock nations to live peacefully amongst one another almost a thousand years ago. I'd stayed clear of him even though he made it point to challenge my patience from time to time with his actions and petty remarks against they way in which I governed my coven and it's members.

If he'd somehow found out the identity of my fated one and attempted to murder him because of some old prophecy he didn't agree with, there will be nowhere Morgan will be able to hide from my wrath and retribution for having those boys lay a hand on Seth. My anger over the entire situation was on a slow simmer deep within my soul. Morgan had no clue of what he's unleashed within me when I'd found my fated bruised and bloody, broken and almost passing through death's door. The slow simmer of fury is going to come a full turbulent boil and I can only pray that when it does, Morgan is prepared to face the burn.

My stomach rumbled and my cock twitched at the same time. I was hungry, and both organs already seemed to be aware that feeding meant getting close and personal with Seth. I shook my head as my thoughts recalled the past few days within the coven house. It would have been inappropriate as this coven's leader if I had laughed outright at my poor baby's reactions to my guards, especially Sebastian. First my lead warrior was turned into a bunny and then a donkey. I couldn't bring it within myself to punish Remy for his remarks about Sebastian being an jackass when he was physically turned into one.

Seth had been adorably mortified and has refused to leave his room or speak to anyone other than myself or Remy. I knew he was needing, I could feel the pull of his hunger and that alone had me fully hard in a matter of seconds. I so wanted to take him and fully make him mine, but he needed to fully understand who he is and his position in the paranormal world. How was I supposed to explain it to him when I didn't understand it fully myself.

Why was he kept in the dark about h abilities? Whose idea was it to neglect to tell him something so important about himself and his ancestry? From what I understood about his powers is, they wouldn't have manifested at all until my blood released them. He wouldn't have been a danger to anyone until he ingested my blood of which I'd shared freely with him in order for him to heal from his injuries.

Getting out of bed, I padded across the room while slipping my robe over my wide shoulders. I usually slept in the nude and that wasn't about to change, especially now with my fated under my roof and soon to be in my bed. I walked around my desk and took a seat in the chair and resumed reading the old diary belonging to Rosemarie herself. I'd always wondered why something so personal belonging to the Seer was left behind amongst my mother's things. Ever since Jacques had brought it to me in the early morning hours, I have been pouring over it hoping that she would have revealed something to help me understand why Seth was raised completely in the human world.

After spending some time reading through her neatly written words. I felt like the journal was written especially for me. So far the beginning pages covered the brief history of the tremulous truce between the witches and the vampire nations. She explained about the Seers from both covens having a vision of a future pairing of a powerful Vampire coven leader and the a Warlock Seer the likes of which neither sides have ever encountered before. This Seer would carry the a powerful line of magic also making him a full blooded witch as well. Once this unique being met and consummated his mating then he would fully come into his powers, powers strong enough to eclipse any other.

Both Vampire and Warlock covens would unite in peace, something Morgan refused to allow to happen because of his superior attitude towards my kind. He rebuked the shifters intermingling, cursing them as filthy animals driven by hormones. Morgan was also narcissistic enough to believe that there wasn't a being alive more powerful than he was. Little did he know that his magic and spells came nowhere close to my inborn powers. My latent powers alone was enough to wipe out the spellcasters if I so wished. I descended from the original line of ancients, the first Vampires ever created, and my coven and I kept that knowledge strictly to ourselves. Never let a potential enemy know your true level of strength.

Seth's grandmother's account hinted at a future power battle between the two fractions but she was very vague about the outcome and the participants involved. I continued to examine the writings trying to find the answers to the multiple questions I had about my fated one. I guess the book was only going to get me so far. I needed to talk to my beloved and spend some quality time just getting to know him, as much as I wanted to sink myself into his delicious body, marking him mine forever, and gorge myself on his extraordinary blood. I needed to take my time and court my beloved, this beautiful young man was going to be bound to me for all eternity. Our relationship needed to be built on more than just our combustible physical attraction for one another.

After securing the journal in my desk, it took no time at all for me shower and dress in a set loose fitting of lounging pants and the matching silk button up shirt. I left the shirt open knowing full well how my mate reacted to my body. It pleased me beyond words to know that I have that effect on my beloved, to know that he desired me almost as much as I worshipped him for the very blessing that he is to me.

Turning the corner to the hallway leading to my beloved's suite, I heard he commotion long before I could see it. With my heart kicking into high gear, a frown covered my face as I used my vampire speed to sprint to his door. The panel slammed against the wall and my jaw dropped at the sight I encountered. Seth was standing by his bathroom, he looked fresh out of the shower. His beautiful eyes were open wide with surprise, and he was huddled with back pressed against the wall trying to keep out the two imebiclies way as the tussled across the room.

Remy was in full fangs and claws, spitting like a mad lethal little kitten at Sebastian. He was dodging and spinning away from my enforcer, all the while holding his phone over his head. Sebastian was trying his best to keep up with the fast little fuker, but everyone knew that Remy was small enough and fast enough to run circles around the bulkier guards. As little as he may be, and because of his small stature and speed, he was as lethal a they come. That's why he is my lead assassin. That is why his sole purpose is to provide companionship and protection for the most precious person in my life. Remy's loyal to a fault to those he respects and cares for. I knew my mate is safe in his hands, but right now I was questioning his common sense at the moment.

Without another thought and a flick of my wrist, I froze the both of them where they stood. Remy was in mid flight across the floor, and Sebastian looked like he was attempting to grab after him. Both of the shocked gazes met mine, their eyes still glowing blood red from their inappropriate, and impromptu battle. Remy's phone hit the carpet with a dull thud and the unforgettable sound of a donkey braying was coming from the device. I rolled my eyes as I walked over to Seth and rubbed my hand over his bare shoulder to make sure that he was alright. When he gave me a reassuring nod. I stepped away from him and his mouthwatering scent and made my way over to the two fools.

Picking up the phone and flipping it over, I watched the video playing across the screen. It was a shaky picture due to the fact that you could hear both Remy and Jacques in the background laughing like deranged hyenas while Sebastian was in Donkey form and letting his displeasure about his situation at the time be heard.

"Explain why you are in this room frightening my mate with your childish antics." I asked the both of them while I clicked off the video and the phone onto the unmade bed. The small disturbance of the phone landing on the sheets my fated slept on caused his scent to tickle my senses and I recalled just how hungry I was, and these two were wasting the precious time I could be spending with Seth.

Remy was the first to answer, "Um...You see, what'd happened was..."

"Shut up! You always try to be cute and unassuming so that Etienne will forgive you anything and everything. I just came to apologize to your Fated, and my future Master about scaring him the both times we have happened to encounter one another. When I got here, Master Seth was in the shower and this little Devil started on my last nerve taunting me with that stupid video." Sebastian snapped as he turned his glare back to Remy with his eyes burning with more than angst for the pretty little spitfire.

A sigh escaped my lips and I was sure the beginning of a headache was starting to throb at the base of my skull as I continued to watch theses two glare menacingly at each other. For over a decade they have been skirting the painfully obvious issue that they are mates, and I'm truly tired of the bullshit. Their constant squabbles, and downright knock down drag out fights all over the coven house. It's time to put an end to it once and for all. Since I planned to be at my mates side as much as I can for the foreseeable future getting to know more about my mate, these two can cool their heels locked away together until they figured out they are meant for one another.

"I am tired of the both of you and your constant bickering. I don't know why you both have an aversion to claiming one another and thanking the fates for your with a mate. This nonsense ends today. I'm banishing the both of you downstairs to the holding cells. You'll either work out your issues and claim one another, or one of you will come to me and request reassignment to one of the other coven estates under my control." I shook my head at the pair of them. Sometimes they were amusing to watch. The image of Remy, the always underestimated a petite little fighter always riling up Sebastian, a much taller and broader hothead just because Remy knew exactly what buttons to push to set the bigger man off.

"You have forty-eight hours to spend time alone and to make your decision. A word of advice, talk to each other, be open and honest. Put your pride aside and think about all your other brethren, the women and men of this coven who would like nothing more than to find their fated. Do not throw this blessing away or disrespect that bond." I explained, and they both gaped at me before I flicked my wrist. They disappeared to the cells in the basement.

Closing my eyes, I used the coven bond to mentally search out Jacques. Once I found him, I tugged on the bond and he immediately snapped to attention. I informed him about Remy and Sebastian's location and the reason why much to Jacques delight. He responded to my request to rearrange the guard schedule until Sebastian returned, and to watch over the unhappy couple to make sure they didn't kill one another in their forced time together. After my instructions were given, I let the bond fade and turned back to my wide eyed angel.

"It' just you and me precious, why don't I give you a tour of our home, while one of the maids clean up your room and then we can spend sometime together. I know you must have a million questions running through your mind." I said as I swooped him up into my arms. I was rewarded with a sweet smile and a nod of consent as his warm little hands splayed across my pecs. His touch almost had me growling in the back of my throat. Everything about my beloved was sublime. I was truly favored when fate intervened in my life and brought me this beautiful man. I hope Sebastian and Remy can find common ground so that they too and reap the rewards of having that special person in your life that was made just for you.
