I gripped my tickets tight. I didn't know what to do. To go and break my own proposal or to stay and miss my own brother's marriage. Dylan and Lucas were looking at me like I am a tv that is playing football match right now. Finally, deciding it, I tore the tickets. Both the men leaned back and signed deeply as though their life's final decision was taken.
"Now that it's decided we are not going let's have dinner" Lucas said getting into the kitchen
"I'll cook today" I said as I followed Lucas
"You sure? You must be tired with the work. Seriously, you work for extra hours every single day. Do they give you too much work?" He asked
"No, it's just... I am working for promotion. I know it's too early but they are searching for a new assistant manager and I really want that
position." I lied.
"You are a new bee. That position is a very high position. I don't think they'll give you that position so soon. You need years of experience for that." He said
"I know. But I really want that position. And maybe if I continue being the best employee then just, maybe, they may give me that position. I know it's a high position but if that perv can be the manager then I can defiantly be assistant manager! I work more then him!" I said
"Guys, I am hungry! Can you both discuss about this after cooking food for me?" Dylan yelled
"You go and spend some time with Dylan. I'll cook today" I instructed Lucas
"Okay" he sounded so happy when he walk out of the air I was breathing.
I started cooking and in no time I was prepared our dinner
"Guys, dinner is ready" I yelled
We all filled our stomach and moved to bed to have some peace.
Lying on the bed my mind found time to think. This chance was the only chance I could see Ashton before one year of time. Honestly, I work late because I want to be so tired that once I hit the bed I shall fall asleep and not think of The Royal Alpha but today I just couldn't get myself to sleep. I did want to become assistant manager but I, too, knew that that position is not possible for years.
I missed Ashton. I miss him. His stupid controlling behavior, his madness of being inside my head, his touch, his I love yous, our kisses, our cuddle, every single detail. I miss him. I really want him. I just... ugh! Why did I have to tear the ticket! I could meet him, see him at least if not talk. Okay, I do sound like those chicks from those teen Rom-com movies that Jenn and Nor always forced me to watch but whatever!
After thinking a lot about that topic I thought I have had enough of my brain scolding me and what's done is done. Anyway I would meet him after half a year. I have come half way through, I can't back out now. I went into Lucas and Dylan's room. Putting a glass of water on those wolves I woke then.
"What... What happened?" Dylan asked, shocked
"Drive me to my brother" I commanded authoritatively.
"Ye... yes, The Royal Regina" they both said at the same time lowering their head
"Oh, no. I didn't mean to show my highness upon you two. Sorry. That just came out" I laughed nervously
"Oh, we got scared for a minute there" they both joined me
"Enough of laughing! Get me to my momma!" I cried out like a small girl
"Okay okay" they got out of bed
"Why did you tear the ticket if you wanted to go!" Dylan muttered
"It's that...I wanted to but I couldn't. But now I want to and I know I can do it" I said as I walked to my room to get ready.
We reached home in the middle of night. Instead of ringing the door bell I opted to call Ron. In less then a minute he opened the door and hugged me tight.
"I missed you" he said "I am so happy you came!"
"I missed you, too" I smiled
My mom came and gave me a hug too then we went in. I went to my old room and sat down on the bed. It was pretty much the same. Nothing had been changed. I put my spinal cord on the bed and closed my eyes. I heard footsteps and a warm hand on my forehead then the owner of the hand spoke "Sleep tight, my baby, mummy loves you"
"Your baby loves you too" I whispered back, shocking her
"You are awake, Rach?" Shock evident in her voice
"Yeah. But too weak to speak to you about everything that happened past half year. Will talk to you tomorrow. In desperate need to go to my dream land." I said, falling asleep
I think I heard her laugh then she went out of the room.
I got up because of someone poking my checks
"Wake up, you grumpy head" the voice sounded like Nora.
Leaving my pillow I put my head on her shoulder and hugged her tight.
"Woah! I am happy to see you too, my friend" she hugged me back then corrected herself "ex friend. Because friends don't leave without even informing."
"I am sorry. Desperate situation, desperate measurement." I said "Please forgive me"
"It's okay. I can't say I understand because The Royal Alpha didn't tell about it in detail. He just said something happened and you both needed a break for few months but I am so happy you are here" she smiled at me
" I am really very sorry" I repeated myself
"One more time sorry and I'll slap you" she warned, laughing
"Okay" I held my hands up in defense
"So, who's side are you from? Bride or groom?" I asked
"I am the maid of honor" she grinned "Jenn was actually wish you would come back and be her maid of honor but... Anyway why don't you go get ready and then we'll go meet the bride " she said "and leave the makeup. We'll go there and do it. Her makeup should be done too. Oh my god! We don't have time! Hurry up!"
I jumped out of the bed and raced to bathroom. I hope they haven't moved my stuff from the bathroom or I am in trouble.
Taking bath and getting myself into my new dress
Then walked out to Nora.
"Woah! I didn't know you could look so beautiful" she commented
I stuck my tongue out
My lavender coloured dress was straight across off shoulder one piece with circle bottom that reached my knees. To add in beauty of the dress a belt sat on my stomach and glitters spilled over the dress in an unfamiliar order.
"Let's go" she caught hold of my hand and pulled me. We drove to the venue.
As soon as we entered the room that contained Jenn and her mother I felt bad and terrified. Bad for leaving Jenn without even inform
ing her about it. And terrified because I don't really know how she would react to it.
She was standing and talking to her mother in her bridal outfit. Though there was no makeup on her she looked beautiful.
"Rach!" She looked shocked at first then angry
"Ah! There you are" her mother said looking at Nora " I was waiting for you! Now that you are here I'll go and see the other arrangements. Oh, hello, Rachel. How are you? It's been so long since I saw you."
"Hi, Camiliea. I am good. How are you?" I smiled at her
"I am good too. A little busy actually, I'll talk to later if that's fine with you" she replied
"Please carry on!" I asked again
After she left Jenn walked up to me.
"Hi" I grinned at her
Guess what her reply was?
She lifted her palm and connected it to my checks
"Ouch!" I cried out in pain, rubbing my cheeks vigorously
"Well, this is what you get to leave me without any information" she hugged me "where the hell were you? You idiot! Couldn't even call me? Did you go and settle in hell and there was no signal there that you couldn't call me! How could you do this to me, your brother, your mother, your friends! I hate you! I so hate you!"
"Nah! You love me! I know you do. Sorry, it's was demand's call. I had to do it. I missed you too." I laughed at her outburst
"If you weren't my best friend I would have squeezed the life out of your throat" she shouted near my ear
"Oo! Someone's thinking like a murderer. Is it cold feet thingy?" I asked.
She broke the hug and sat down on the dressing chair
"Yeah... I am just so nervous about it" she admitted
"Don't worry! Everything is going to be fine!" Nora came forward and rubbed her shoulders then continued "Let's get started, shall we?"
After what felt like hours to me with Nora working on Jenn's face and me handing her whatever she needed we were done. It gave me the feeling of me as a nurse in the operation theater and Nora the doctor with Jenn being the...I mean Jenn's face being our patient. But the outcome of it was so beautiful
She wore a sweetheart neckline trumpet gown with 3/4th sleeves.
"Rachel, you hav-" Jenn's mom's choice stopped in mid sentence as she looked at her own daughter. Her eyes watered with the love she had towards her daughter.
"My baby, you look beautiful" she whispered
Jenn said a thank you by hugging her mother tight.
After they separated I asked Camiliea to continue what she started when she entered the room.
"Oh, I came to say that you'll be sitting in one of the first tables. That was the only place vacant and since you were late... don't worry, it's just a table for two and the person sitting with you is... that is..." she started flipping through her book of arrangements I am guessing.
Please let that not be the one person I had planned not to see for another six months!
