MARY JANE WATSON was plagued with comments from MCU and comic fans alike asking why she supposedly changed her name to the infamous love interest of Peter Parker as if she was the one with the obsession who had gone just a bit too far. Like, writing fanfiction and inserting yourself into the story, sure that's fine, but changing your name to a love interest? Crazy. But that's not how it went.
No, for MJ, she was just unlucky to be adopted into a family of Spider-Man lovers. With the last name Watson and a baby girl who they were allowed to name, what else were they going to call her but Mary Jane. It was perfect and it's not like they thought social media would come into existence and the movies would be made and people could find out about her and think that she was some super mega crazy fan.
So ever since 2016 when Tom Holland became the next Peter Parker on the big screen, entering the MCU, Mary Jane rose to fame with him as the crazy fan. Well, she wasn't anywhere near as famous as him, and a big contribution to her name being out in the open was her brother Jude who played Alec Lightwood on the show Shadowhunters, but still; MJ did not like Tom Holland. It if weren't for him, no one would've blinked twice at her name, no one would be giving her hate or thinking that she was obsessed with him, and she would be able to just go to college and become the psychologist she always wanted to. But no, of course she can't.
And of course, because her name is MJ, she has her own "Parker Luck" and her brother gets invited to the premier of Spider-Man: Far From Home and brings her as his date. And she couldn't even prepare herself because he didn't tell her what premier it was going to be. All she wanted was a normal life, but now she's at the premier for a Spider-Man movie, her name is MJ, and she ran into Tom Holland on the red carpet? End her already.

Hello and welcome to the new and improved version of Mary Jane! This rewrite is going to be very different from the original, especially considering the original faceclaims for MJ were white and now China Anne McClain is the fc. Also all of the characters names (except MJ) have been changed because I really didn't their names and they didn't have much thought to them, so I scrapped them and changed everything.
