I lay wasted on the dirty mattress a belt tightened around my arm while a needle protruded into my arm. I glanced up at the sky wondering how my life had turned out this way what had i done to make god hate me. I licked my dry lips sitting up on the mattress glancing over at Layani who once had voluptuous curves in all the right place now lay skin & bones. Her once bright blue eyes a dull color no longer containing it's twinkle. Her flawless radiant skin always had a few blemishes but who didn't now was old & disgusting.
I looked at my self I was beginning to waste away not as bad as yani but I was getting skinnier my once honey colored skin looked dry. "B-baby I need a fix" Layani stuttered twitching & scratching.
I nodded also feeling the urge I stood up before throwing on a dingy coat taking a deep breath stepping out into the New York cold. "C-can I get 20$ please" I stuttered to the passing by strangers. I grabbed onto a woman's coat only to be met with an angel.
"C-can I get 20$ d-dollars lady please please" I begged desperate to feel the drugs pumping into my veins.
"I-im uh yeah sure" she reached into her purse handing me the 20$ smiling slightly.
"Thank you so much miss" I grinned pulling her into a hug until I realized what I was doing. Before I could pull away she hugged me back just as tight we both broke away & she was grinning while I smiled a real smile for the first time.
"I really needed that but bye stranger" she said waving as I simply smiled like a love sick idiot that I was. No one ever did that & I realized I want her & would do anything to have her. I took the 20$ going to buy a few rocks of crack.
