This poem was inspired by one of my closest best-friends. I visualized this person as someone who is carefree and happy, but inside, this person is locked up in emotions and does not know what to do in life and its other aspects. I was inspired by how this person maintains such kind of fragility that whenever something bad comes to this person’s life, this person just almost falls off the edge of the cliff, but this person didn’t fall at all; that’s how fragile this person is (yeah, I know I sound redundant because I keep saying “this person,” but let’s just leave it to that.)

MAIDEN OF DEATH
In mountaintops, I hear her call
Her echoes sweet and drowned in pain
The breeze doth make a heightened wall
That hopes to love with all; then wane
Her oceans shake the very ground
Like wanting for a warm embrace
Her stares a-beauty, pearls a-sound
Yet rivers flow without a trace
Her dreams lay on the dark of night
In blankets’ gloom and curtain’s touch
Her eyes find for the greatest sight
But fail, for chains’ and silver’s clutch
She plays the cellos in her hand
With notes of frozen memories
In labyrinths or desert land
In passion’s heart or agonies
