I opened the front door and saw Trey down the street with his ugly ass friends. I opened my car door and got inside.
"I'm finna embarrass the shit out of him" I mumbled
Today was Camryn's birthday and we were both excited as shit. We both had to work today, so we decided to just go out tomorrow night.
I already sent her her three paragraph essay that she wanted and her bitch ass called me crying on FaceTime. She such a cry baby.
"Trey !" I pulled up beside him

"Get yo black ass in the house and go wash them fucking dishes"

I drove off and made my way to Lenox Square. The usual 20 minute ride there turned into 30 because people act like they can't fucking drive.
"Hate Atlanta traffic" I rolled my eyes closing my car door
I walked inside the mall and made my way straight to Footlocker. I walked inside and saw Shantell already ringing up a customer.
"Hey Carter" She waved as she put the receipt in the bag
"Hey Shanny" I waved back as I went towards the back
I put my stuff in my lil cubbie and walked back out to the front.
"We were busy today ?" I questioned
"Nah, not really" She shook her head
Shantell was one of my friends here at work. She had smooth brownskin with these pretty brown eyes. She always worried about fitness and shit, while I'll sit and eat 3 boxes of popeyes chicken like it's nothing.
"I'll be back, I'm about to go charge my phone" I told her as I walked to the back

I walked back to the back and grabbed my charger out of my purse. I plugged it up and went to my messages seeing Camryn text me.

I put my phone up and went back out to help Shantell with the customers. At around 7, it got real slow so I went to the back to check my messages.
"Carter, please come out and handle these damn hooligans" Shantell came from the front
"Oh god" I mumbled locking my phone putting it in my purse

I rolled my eyes as soon as soon as I saw who she was talking about. Only Harold, Shayaa, Pablo, and Nudy would be in here acting a fucking ass.
"What the fuck are y'all doing ?" I asked seeing Harold stand on one of our lil benches where people try on the shoes "Get down"
"Oh shit, wassup Toodie" Nudy gave me a hug
"Aye what's your friend name ? She fine as hell" Pablo said

"I'll change her mind" He smiled before walking up to the front
"What do y'all want ?" I asked ignoring the stare Shayaa was giving me

"You can give me a lil discount on these shit ?" Nudy asked holding up a pair of Jordans

"Yeah we buying something with your rude ass, this is bad customer service Toodie" Harold said
"Jesus build a fence around me all day, everyday" I said quietly to myself "What are y'all looking for ?"
"Aye, y'all get them new Jordan 12s ? The white and light blue ones ?" Nudy asked
"Yeah, what size ?"
"8, 10, and a 10 1/2" Shayaa said
"Big feet ass niggas" I mumbled as I walked away
"Carter you need help ? Alright I'll help you" Shantell said as she left Pablo standing at the cash register
I laughed at his face and we walked to the back.
"I was waiting for your ass to come save me" She pretended to wipe sweat from her forehead
"If you don't stop, my brother ain't that bad" I told her as I went to find their shoes

We walked back out the shoes and they sat down trying them on. Harold just had to be extra walking around the whole damn store.
"Y'all together or doing it seperate?" I asked
"Together" Shayaa answered
I rung up each shoe and told them their total. Shayaa pulled out a wad of cash but I kept quiet, wasn't none of my business.
"Bye lil sis" Harold ruffled my hair
"Why would you do that ?" I punched his arm before fixing my hair
"Pablo !" Nudy yelled "Let's go nigga, she'on want yo ass"

"Excuse me ?" Shantell scrunched up her face "Can you repeat that ?" She cupped her hand around her ear
"I wasn't talking about you" He said all sweet and shit "You know you ain't no bitch"
"Mhmm" I mumbled walking past them to the front register
I leaned against it and was just cleaning it up seeing old receipts all over.

"What ?" I asked looking at Shayaa
"What time yo lunch is ?"
"In about 10 minutes, why ?" I asked
"I'll be back in 5" He said "Be ready"
"Is that your way of telling me your taking me somewhere for lunch ?" I tilted my head to the side
He looked at me before we both started laughing. He don't even know how to ask properly.
"You funny, you know that right ?" I told him
"I'm hilarious" He said before walking off
"Awe, is that your boyfriend" Shantell came up to me
"No, just a friend" I shrugged
"Girl, I know y'all ain't just friends the way he still got your ass smiling"

She was about to respond but I heard that annoying ass high pitch voice. I looked up at the entrance and saw Myasia with a group of girls.
"Lord, please don't let me say anything hurtful" I looked up
"Why ? You don't like them ?" Shantell asked
"I don't know the rest of them, it's just the one in the front" I leaned against the register
"She look like she got a bad attitude"
"Oh hey, um is it Cindy ?" Myasia asked
"Nah it's Carter" I corrected her
"I'm sorry, my apologies" She said making her friends laugh
"Nah you good, cause your nigga knows it" I shrugged as Shantell laughed

"Excuse me ?" She questioned as her friends stopped laughing
"I'm sorry, my apologies" I mocked her
"Oh is the bitch you been talking about ?" One of her friends asked
"I think she forgot to mention I'm also the bitch who gave her that black eye" I mugged her friend

"I would love to go back and forth with you but I'm on the clock right now so you wasting my time ma"

They walked out and not even a few seconds later, Shayaa walked back in. Shantell saw him and started giving me this creepy smirk.

"You know you gotta wait like 7 more minutes" I told him

He gave me that "bring yo ass on" look and I walked in front of him pouting. We walked towards the food court.

He looked up from his phone and gave me a straight face as I laughed.
