the models all kept to themselves backstage
wondering when or if the show would ever end
their florid faces gleamed in the hot los angeles sun
but they chose to conceal the ethereal quality with fine powder
of course they were all so pale
so thin
and so satisfying
everything from the tips of the wings from their eyeliner
down to their angular hips
and bony calves
and their commercialized hair
they were so perfect
from the hallowed out eyes
of a skeleton
