Chapter 20
Carson stiffened beside me and he let go of my hand in an instant then he put his arms around my waist protectively. My vision became blurry and I can see everything spinning. I grasped on Carson's arm for support, he seemed to notice it as he tightened his grip around my waist.
"Don't show him that you're scared. I'm here to protect you." he whispered in my ear.
I barely nod but I forced myself to do it.
My father is walking towards us with a smirk on his face. My whole body is trembling as Carson move his hands up and down on my back to calm me. It helped me a little but I'm still shaking in fear.
"What are you doing here?" I asked my father the moment he reached us.
"I just stopped by to see how my lovely daughter is doing." He smiled at me before touching my cheeks.
I flinched as Carson pulled me closer to him so that I'm beyond my dad's reach. His eyes flicked towards Carson and he smiled wider. I tightened my hands on Carson's arm and he did the same.
"Who are you young man? I believe that we met before but I didn't quite catch your name because you left me unconcious on the school parking lot." his voice became dark when he said the last line.
"That's none of your business dad." I answered for Carson.
"I didn't ask you bitch." he said with venom in his voice.
Carson stepped forward and grabbed my dad by his collar. My dad stumbled forward and tried to struggle out of Carson's grip but Carson held him tighter.
"Listen asshole, you don't talk to her like that , she's not a bitch she's your daughter why don't you treat her like one!" He growled.
My father laughed darkly like one of those evil villain in the disney movies.
"Why would I treat her like one when she killed my wife!" my father shouted causing the people in the hallway to look at us.
"She didn't kill your wife. Do you think that you're the only one who's grieving? Your wife is also her mother! You're not the only one who lost a loved one, you think that it's not hard for a ten year old to lose a mother?" Carson shouted.
I'm on the verge of tears when Carson said those words. I didn't even thought that he knew such things.
"What do you know! You're just some kind of a spoiled brat whore with a rich-"
"Shut the fuck up Jacob!" I shouted as my tears fall down.
My father looked at me with wide eyes I don't know if it's because of anger or shock that I called him by his first name, but let me tell you that I don't care anymore. He abused me for years, it's time for me to fight back, I won't let him get to me again
He raised his hand to slap me but I didn't flinch, I kicked his balls instead. He groaned in pain as he clutch them, his face becoming red from pain.
"Moth-her Fuc-ker!" He squealed as he hiss in pain.
I looked up the sky and silently say sorry for what I'm going to say.
"Well sorry Jacob, you don't have my mother for you to fuck with." I clamped my mouth as soon as those words came out of my mouth.
"What the fuck did you say?" he shouted.
"Get out of here now before I call the guards." Carson said with a growl
"I'm not yet done with you. I'm going to get you." he said as he got up and walk out of the hallway.
I sniffed as I wipe my tears away. I look at the hallway and saw that no one's there. I sighed in relief as I glance at Carson. He gave me a sympathetic look as he pulled me into him. He wrapped he's arms around my waist and put his chin on my neck as he breathe in my scent. I burried my face on his chest and inhale his scent.
Gawd. I'll never get tired of his intoxicating smell.
"I'm sorry for my dad. He didn't scare you of right?" My voice muffled.
I felt his chest vibrate because my face is moving up and down. He stroked my hair blandly. After a few seconds he pulled away just a little bit to look at me but his arms are still around me.
"Why are you sorry? No offence but it's your asshole of a dad who should be sorry, not you. And of course not, I think you forgot that Carson Matthews isn't afraid of anything." he flicked my nose as I wrinkle them.
"None taken, wait- So you're not afraid of me?" I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Well, I guess you're an exception."
He gave me a peck on the lips the he pulled away. He held my hands in his then we walk to the cafèteria hand in hand.
The moment we entered the cafèteria Ally and Ian rushed towards us. Ally linked her arms with mine as she turn to face Carson.
"Can I borrow your girlfriend for a while? I just have some things to ask." she said.
I squeezed Carson's hands indicating that I don't want to go with Ally cause I know what she's going to ask. Carson squeezed my hand back as he pulled me closer to him.
"Can't you ask her in front if me? I'm her boyfriend anyway." he shrugged.
Ally faced me and gave me a 'really' look on her face.
"Yeah. You can just ask me now." I shrugged.
"Okay then. Let's sit on our place then I'll ask." she said.
She let go of my arm and linked hers to Ian's. I looked at Carson who's giving me a heart warming smile, I tip toed and gave him a kiss on his lips before whispering a 'thank you'.
"If that's the way that you're going to thank me everytime then I'll always make things that'll make you thank me." he winked at me.
I blushed as I duck my head in embarrassment. I felt a finger under my chin as it lift my face up.
"You don't have to hide your blush pumpkin, it's cute you know." he smiled at me.
"Lovebirds! Save those things for later come here now before Ally get's angry!" Ian shouted.
I blushed harder and I saw a faint pink color on Carson's cheek. I giggled softly before pulling Carson with me.
This is the moment of truth.
"You know that I'll be here the whole time right?" Carson said softly.
I nodded and swallowed hard before sitting across them. Carson sat beside me as he rub his hands on my back. I leaned on Carson for support.
"So, first thing's first. Is it true that you're dad abuses you?" Ally questioned me.
I balled my fist hard that my nails are digging on my palm, I'm sure that half moon crescents will form on my palm. Carson brushed his finger over my fist and it made me unclench them.
"I-I"
"Yes it is true that poor Cassidy is being abused." Rose said behind us and it is loud enough for everyone to hear it.
Everyone's mouth are hanging open as they look at me. I felt Carson's hands trembling and his whole body shaking in anger. Me on the other hand is shaking as my tears fall down my cheeks.
"I'll be right back." Carson whispered as he kissed my forehead.
He got up from his seat and walk over Rose. Rose smirked at me as she cross her arms over her chest.
"You know what Rose? Being abused is better than being fucked by Peter Jones." Carson shouted
Peter Jones? The school nerd with pimples and braces? The one with thick glasses?
"Wha- Ho-ow did you know that! And I'm drunk at that state!" she shouted and her face red with embarrassment.
Some of the jocks whistled and shouted 'can I be your next?' 'Rose and Peter are together!' 'Did his brace hurt your mouth?'
"Just admit it. You're a slut. And every person in this room listen to me. Cassidy is abused so what? You don't need to know that, you don't need to pity her or laugh at her. If you treat her differently or wierdly because you knew her situation, trust me you won't see your loved ones again. Understand?" he shouted.
"Yes." Everybody said in unison like zombies.
"And you Rose, if you ever bother her again, I promise you that you won't like me anymore." Carson said between his clenched teeth.
Rose nodded shakily and she's like she was about to pee in her pants because of fear. She ran away from the cafèteria and disappeared like thin air.
"Let's go."
Carson came back to my side as he pull me with him. We head towards the exit ignoring the people staring.
"Where are we going?" I asked him out of curiousity.
"Ice cream?" he offered me as we enter his car.
"Yes please!" I chirped.
Suddenly all of my sadness vanished.
