I ACTUALLY WROTE SOMETHING I'M SLIGHTLY PROUD OF =D
and of course being me I drew something to go with it xD
(So now if you wanna read it:)
This is based off of an area in a RPG me and my friend play(ed). The description of the area is: "The Roots of Corruption is a dangerous area. It corrupts the mind and can turn you against your friends."
So yup enjoy ^v^ oh btw this will also be practice for me writing 3rd person POV (tell me what chu think :P)

Neon and Cash approached the area, looking for the quest item said to be in the area.
"What is this place called again?" Cash asked looking at the obsidian spikes that littered the area, poking one with his sword.
"The Roots of Corruption, I believe," Neon replied looking at the map she held open. She put the map away and pulled out her bow, ready to shoot if needed. They continued further into the area killing a few monsters along the way. Cash ran up ahead, being reckless as always. They were heading to a legendary shrine that is supposed to be in the area, the powder you get from there allows you to enchant your weapons with powerful enchants.
"BE CAREFUL!" Neon shouted trying to catch up without being scratched by the spikes. Neon caught up to Cash just as he was trying to sneak into the shrine. He used his vanish spell allowing him to go invisible and walk in, meanwhile Neon jumped up on top of the shrine. Neon used her bomb spell on an arrow and shot in the middle of the shrine guardians, critically damaging them all. Cash became visible and used his spin attack to kill the guardians. Neon jumped down and ran up to the shrine, grabbing a bag of the enchantment powder. Cash did the same and they started running out of the shrine. Just as they were making it out Cash started stumbling. Neon hadn't noticed that Cash was slowing down and made it outside. When she realized that he wasn't behind her, she got slightly nervous. His agility was higher, usually allowing him to run faster than her. She looked back into the room that held the shrine, seeing Cash stumbling and almost fall. He made it out a few seconds later however. He looked really pale, like he was sick.
"Dude, you okay?" Neon said. He tried to respond but his throat was burning. His entire body felt like it was on fire, and yet he felt relaxed and tired at the same time. His vision had begun to blur and was fading slightly. He was trying so hard to stay awake, but to no avail. He collapsed, hitting the ground. Neon panicked for a second before dragging and setting him up against a wall. Neon took off her bag and quickly searched for a healing potion. She couldn't find hers, but she was sure she packed some. Neon checked again but stopped when she felt something sharp against her throat. She thought quickly and kicked whatever was behind her in the leg causing a chance for her to escape which she gladly took. Neon grabbed her bow and drew it pointing at what was behind her.
"Cash?" She looked confused until she saw his eyes. They were glowing bright white and there were black markings that were connected to his eyes. Corruption. Stories have said that getting a wound from the spikes here can cause a person to become corrupted, turning them against their friends. People who have survived the corruption often don't remember what happened while they were corrupted.
"What? Something wrong?" He smirked and held his sword up. Neon quickly jumped back onto a high ledge. She couldn't hurt her friend.
"Don't want to fight? Oh well, you're going to have to." He says as he throws a smoke bomb spell to the ledge that Neon was standing on. She jumped to another ledge, but he threw another smoke bomb there just as she landed, causing her to get effected by it. She landed on the edge but her landing was anything but normal. She crashed onto the ledge, coughing violently. Neon tripped when she landed, making her roll off the edge, and hit the ground below. She had taken quite a bit of damage just from that, considering her defence wasn't high. Her bow had fallen out of her grip when she fell and was out of her reach. Neon quickly searched her inventory for any form of healing. She found a small healing potion... but it only had one use left. The only way to cure the corruption is a healing potion, she had to heal Cash...
She reached out to her bow but Cash stepped in between her hand and her bow.
"You want this?" He picked up her bow and tossed it into the nearby lava," Too bad." He held his sword up to her throat again.
"Any last words?" He pressed the sword harder.
"Yea, goodbye." Neon smirked casting a quick arrow shield spell using her back-up bow. Cash went flying into the wall, dazing him just long enough Neon could throw the healing potion at him.
"NO!" He yelled looking straight at Neon with pure anger. He threw his sword at her grazing her shoulder, just before his vision faded again. It took a few minutes but he woke back up, confused on what happened. He looked around and saw Neon holding her shoulder. She started coughing violently again. She hadn't yet noticed he was awake. Cash quickly looked in his bag for a healing potion, finding one quickly. He walked over to her and handed her the potion.
"Thanks," she said, her voice raspy. She quickly took a sip of the potion, instantly feeling most of the pain drain away.
"What happened?" Cash asked after a moment
"You don't remember?"
"No?"
"Good. Just forget it then."
"Tell me what happened. You almost died, and it's at least been 3 hours since we got here. This quest was supposed to take less than an hour."
"Fine. You got corrupted."
Cash then remembered getting scratched as he was entering the shrine room. He also remembered what happened while he was corrupted, and he felt like a traitor.
"Oh. Yea, I remember what happened now. I'm so sorry."
"It's fine, it wasn't your fault. You had no control of your actions." Neon said trying to stand up, instead she fell back down and hissed in pain. Cash helped her up and they walked over to their stuff.
"Let's head to Dallas and get you another healing potion."
"It's Detlas ya dork but yea let's go, I don't want to be in this place any longer."
They both summoned their horses and rode away from the Roots of Corruption.
"I hope the other shrines aren't like this one."

I don't know, I've kinda wanted to write this for a while just couldn't find the time where I had the focus to do it.
But yea :P This is actually based on a RPG me and my friend played where he is an assassin class and I'm an archer class.
Oh, I would like to note that I refer to my character (Neon) as a she in this story just cause it was easier on me. But, they are gender-neutral and go by Xe/Xem pronouns.
