***SHANE POV***
"Mariah! What do I do?" I cry flopping my head into Mariah's lap. We were currently outside at the big tree we had hung out at the first day. Allen was in class and Mariah and I were waiting for him to get out. Allen. My heart starts to thump as I think of this morning when we woke up. Before he left the room to shower he had hesitantly leaned up and pecked me on the lips before scurrying out of the room. I smile, He was so adorable! I look up at Mariah as she leans against the tree and reads a verse novel called To Be Perfectly Honest: A Novel Based on an Untrue Story by Sonya Sones. I grab her arm and shake her making her sigh and glare at me over the top of her book.
"What?"
"What do I do?" She rolls her eyes and puts a bookmark in her place before snapping the book shut making me wince. "Thanks for deafening me." I whine. She just glares at me.
"Well that's what you get for interrupting me while I'm reading. I was getting to a part too." She snaps. "And what to do with Allen, Go slow, Don't rush the poor kid. Let him set the pace and stop when he gets to spooked. When it comes to him opening up. I can see that he doesn't do that often. So be patient show him he can trust you." She says before opening the book again, signaling she was done giving me advise. I peer over the top of the book and she angles it so I can read it upside down, something we always did to each other. The poem was short and sweet.
All Weekend Long
I weep.
Sleep.
Try to eat.
Curse.
Sigh.
Admit defeat.

Simmer
Burn.
Rant.

"Cute I like it. What's it about." She explains that it is about a heartbreak that this girl had. I roll my eyes and settle my head back in her lap, she puts the book on my chest and uses me as book rest while she reads. I close my eyes and just enjoy the sunshine after last nights down pour.
"Well isn't this a strange sight." Comes Allen smooth deep voice. My eyes spring open and I sit up quickly, making Mariah sigh since she has to move her book. I look up at him and smile making him blush. "Hey So I left this in my Brother in Law's car last night, he just dropped it off to me, anyone want some?" He asks holding up the twelve pack of Baja Blast mountain dew. I nod eagerly.
"Hell yeah I want some Baja Blast is the best!" I say and catch the can he throws at me. Mariah takes one and puts her book away before opening it and taking a sip.
"So you have a Sister?" Mariah asks and Allen tilts his head as he sits down next to me. "You said brother in law." She shrugs making Allen laugh and shake his head
"No I have a brother." She smiles when she realizes it.
"OH! that's so sweet. What's their names?"
"My brother's name is Rolland and his husband's name is Oliver. Oh and my Niece's name is Annabel" He says quietly. I knew he hated talking about his personal life but like I told him last night, We needed to get to know each other, but at his pace. I wasn't going to rush him. He looks at me and gives me a timid smile before moving his hand to capture mine, lacing his fingers through mine making my heart start to pound. A blush creeps onto his face but I could see in his grey eyes that even this small gesture made him happy, even if he was still figuring things out. Calm down Shane, Don't get your hopes up to soon, this could all just blow up in your face. I mentally yell at myself. Then I look up at Allen and every bit of reason leaves me, Oh who am I kidding? I really liked the kid he was sweet and shy and not to mention sexy and an amazing kisser. If I could just scratch deeper then the surface. I could tell there was an amazing person under the thick steel wall. I just hope It didn't scare him away. I prayed it didn't freak him out so much he ran away. I didn't want him to run. I really hopped that things would work out in the long run. My Phone Vibrates I grab it and check it

I look up at Mariah and see her giving me a stern look. I just blink up at her and she shakes her head, going back to her book. I look at Allen and we chat a little, trying to get to know each other, slowly he starts to open up about his home life. I know there is something he is hiding but I can see it in his eyes that he is afraid to say it so I don't push him. When He's ready he will tell me... Right?
***MARAIH POV***
"Allen wait up." I call, racing down the hall toward Allen. He stops and turns, pocketing his phone as he waits for me to get to him. When I do I fix him with a stern look, surprised when he doesn't shrink back a little, most people did. "Well I guess the stern glare doesn't work on you." I mutter He Smiles.
" Oliver's twin sister Jeremi has the scariest Glare, and its been fixed on me a lot. I'm use to it sorry." He says nervously. "So what's up?" He asks nodding for us to continue walking down the hall.
"It's about Shane." I say. "Don't hurt him ok? His last boyfriend was toxic and muanipulitive he shattered him. So please while you are figuring this all out. Don't lead him on ok? If you do I will Rip your nuts off and feed them to you in smoothie form got it?" I say pinning him with a glare. He winces and moves his leg so he was protecting himself.
"I'll try my hardest not to hurt him or lead him on. I don't want to hurt him. I'm still figuring things out myself, I'm so confused but I really like him." he says nervousness and anxiety creeping into his voice. I grip his arm and give it a small squeeze.
"Calm down Allen. I like you, you're such a great guy. I don't think you will hurt him. I'm just making sure." I say. He gives me a small smile and nods before stopping outside a class room.
"Alright. well this is my class I'll talk to you later." He says and heads into the room. I turn around and head back up the hall and out the building, heading toward my building for my Anatomy class. My phone Vibrates and I pull it out, a smile on my face.

The text was from Tess, the girl I had come out to in 8th grade, we were still going strong. Something my parents were still pissed about but I didn't care. I found my soul mate in 8th grade and I haven't wanted anyone else. I sent her a text back before slipping into my class and sitting down. Just wanting this day to end already so I could see Tess.
***ALLEN POV***
I couldn't pay attention to my professor as she droned on about something, I think it was a small history about digital arts. But my mind wouldn't focus. It kept wandering to Shane and my feelings for him. Did I like him enough to date him? Or was this all just a heat of the moment thing? No. I knew it wasn't that. Not when I got butterflies in my stomach whenever I saw him and how I found him Hotter then hell when he was in a tank top and his hair down. I shift in my seat as I find my pants growing tighter. Yeah that too. I was defiantly not straight if THAT happened just thinking about him. Maybe I should take him on a date soon, just the two of us away from college. hmmm that sounded like a good idea. As I think over my plan in my head the next thing I know the professor is ending the class and handing us a packet we need to finish for next week. I grab my things and quickly stuff it all in my bag before grabbing my phone and dialing Oliver's number.
"Yellow, PANTHER DOWN!" Oliver says screaming at the dog who I can hear barking in the back ground. We use to have a beautiful blue gold McCaw parrot but she had passed away a few months ago. She was a very old bird. "What you need Al?" He asks.
"Hey can I possibly barrow the car tomorrow? I want to take Shane on a date, do something just us so I can figure things out." I ask.
"Whose on the phone?" I hear Rolland's deep voice.
"Your kid brother." Oliver says. "And yeah you can borrow it just text me when to come get you two and then drop me off at home."
"Thanks and Say hi to Rolland for me." I say before hanging up. I make my way to the cafeteria and smile when I see that Shane was sitting at a small table for two reading Fang. I sneak up behind him. "Hey." I say in his ear making him jump and drop his book.
"Holy! Don't scare me like that!" He cries as I go around and sit down. He pushes his tray towards me. "I stocked up on double of everything." He says going back to his book. I smile and grab the cheese burger putting some of the mayo and Mustard packets onto it before putting some on the trey for the fries. I take a bite and feel something explode onto my chin making Shane slap a hand over his mouth as he tries not to laugh. I look down and see that it was the mayo, my face instantly brightening, "Really going to laugh at that?" I grumble grabbing a napkin and wiping it away. He shrugs and takes a fry, dipping it in the mayo mustard combo.
"Never said I was always mature." He states, popping the fry into his mouth. my eyes Zero in on his lips and imagines of those softness pressed against mine, and other places has me shaking my head.
"Hey where's Mariah?" I ask when I realize that the feisty Asian girl wasn't with us. He shrugs again as he steals another fry, his eyes going back to his book.
"She's spending the rest of the day with her girlfriend Tess." I shrug and take another bite of my cheeseburger. I finish it off and we just munch on the fries until I Have the courage to ask him the question that had been dancing in my head for a while.
"Hey Shane?" I ask He looks up from his book, an eyebrow raised. I catch my breath, his hair was down framing his face and his eyes were so dark brown they were like chocolates.
"Is there a question in there or did you just want my attention to stare at me?" He teases and I blush.
"N-No There's a question. Um would you like to go.. on a date? With me tomorrow since we have no classes?" I say in a rush. Shane puts down his book and stares at me making me drop my eyes.
***SHANE POV***
Allen's face crumples when I don't say anything, he tries to hide it but I can see the sadness in his eyes as he drops them and just grabs another fry. I just stare. He wanted to go on a date with me? Was he Sure?
"Or, not. That's cool too." He whispers his voice barely audible. I snap out of my daze and Smile wide. HE WANTED TO GO ON A DATE! I reach across the table and lift his chin smiling at him and snickering when I see his blush.
"Allen Hopkins I would Love to go on a date with you." The sadness is replaces with Nervous Happiness and he gives me a lazy grin that stirs feelings in my stomach. Woah Shane easy.
" Great. I will pick you up in the Car tomorrow." He says with excitement. I grin.
"That is one beautiful car." He nods. "Where are we going?" I ask and he just smirks.
"Its a surprise." I groan. I hated surprises. I look at him and see the happiness in his eyes and cant help my smile. Maybe this surprise would be a good one.
