The girl began to think before they smiled once again
"I leave tonight actually , would that be fine?"
Savanna nodded
"Splendid!" The stranger giggled in a soft voice
"My name's Thana by the way"
Chapter Twenty One (unedited)
It was like a taste of freedom, the feeling of being able to breath again and just look at the scene in front of you like you haven't seen this for a very long time
"It's beautiful isn't it?" Thana the thirteen year old said beside her, her eyes also watched the scenery in fascination.
"Are you sure this isn't Ostar?" She asked in amazement. It just look much like the human world yet Savanna could still detect that they never left the place yet
"It's the in between" Thana explained, not taking her eyes off of what lay in front of her. Savanna couldn't speak, she was in utter amazement of the creation so Thana spoke again
"In between the humans and our world. Where two creations meet and form into something extraordinary. You don't see something like this everywhere" Savanna only nodded in agreement, of course she would never see this anywhere. The world is a beautiful place but put two things together, created by a god and a goddess Made something no one could explain, something you can't see everywhere and surprisingly no one has ever been here, the boundary of a portal
"I really don't see why people would rather create one when you could use this" Savanna murmured
"Not everyone has the knowledge of this, some believe it is a portal to death or whatever other people feed each other with"
"Then how did you discover this place then? When you knew they said such stories, why did you go?" Savanna asked in confusion. This girl came here, the place where Ostar ends yet she was the only one who had the courage to face whatever it was people thought were here
Thana Though only shrug but a smirk was played against her red rosy lips
"I'm immortal. I do not fear something that I know I won't become"
They continued to walk until they stopped in front of a pasture. Although it is a beautiful view, her heart begs to squeeze, as if- if she takes another step, it would take her heart out
"Now this might hurt a bit, so you might need to prepare" Thana warned beside her, her eyes bored drawn in a thin line as she concentrated
"So that's why u feel like my soul is getting sucked?"
Thana only nod
"Are you ready?"
"Yes"
"Good"
Savanna wasn't prepared, she thought Thana would give her a warning but she didn't. Instead she found herself being plunged towards darkness by Thana's powerful force. Savanna couldn't help but scream and she felt her chest go tighter, the way her eyes almost rolled back from lack of oxygen, but that was long gone when she fell in a concrete floor, air seeping through her starving mouth and nose as she inhaled lots of it
"I always love that part" Savanna whipped her head to glare at the grinning thirteen year old and spat in anger
"You pushed me!"
Thana who shrugged said "you said you were ready"
"I didn't think you would push me hard enough that I thought you killed me! Why did that hurt more then creating one anyway" Savanna said incredulously. This wasn't adding up, she even felt like her years of living had been useless from the lack of knowledge from their wolf history
"I'm a witch, in case you haven't notice. You on the other hand....." Thana trailed of. Her eyes assessed her form before it stopped when she saw the Mark of Vashka. Savanna knew what Thana was looking and that made things uncomfortable. Slowly she brought her hand up to hide yet Thana grinned when she realize Savanna didn't like what she had
Turning back, Thana murmured in a small voice. Her eyes cast in the shadow as she lowered them to the ground
"You should appreciate It, destructive or not she was once known to be beautifully talented just like the moon goddess. Appreciate the power Savanna, Vashka wasn't given powers because she is evil, she got it as a gift not a curse"
"Easy for you to say, your not the one being prophesied as the woman who may save our kind or bring us to extinction" when Savanna looked at Thana, she stop short when she realize Thana's form was rigid, her hand shook and that worried Savanna
"Thana are you okay?"
"I'm fine" she stated before walking
Savanna the realized they were now in a dark alleyway. The smell ooze and garbage waft around the area that made her wrinkle her nose, Thana though either didn't care or couldn't smell it walked as if the place didn't bother her
" where are we?"
"Russia"
"Russia? Why are we here?" Suddenly it finally hit her
Savannah thought seriously. She shouldn't be here especially when she had been a danger to the vampires
"My sisters. The one I told you lived here. She thought it was a beautiful place to have a business"she explained, the girls began to walk while Savanna fillowed. Her eyes would watch the quiet place and would cringe when she found her hair begin to stand
Slowly, Thana walked through a broken fence. The wire that prevents robbers were broken or rather destroyed lay beside her. And there she found a small cottage. Dirty and old but when Thana opened the wooden door, she gasp
"Welcom to the witches brew"
Savanna looked up and saw a small cottage. She was surprise that she didn't even notice this with all the building closing off
"Why would your sisters put up a business when no costumer can even see This, so much more doesn't know this even existed"
"Oh we don't need humans on our tails saying how spooky our antiques are. That is just too much to handle" Savanna stood closely to Thana as she opened the door as it creaked. But as Savanna looked she was gobsmack at the beauty in front of her
The place didn't even look like a cabin but an interior of a mansion. Marbled floors to golden walls and to glass tables that held very mysterious objects that She didn't know of it's use
"May I ask how a witch like you entered a wolfs territory without being killed?"
"As I said, I'm immortal and the other would be that I made a deal with the alpha" she grinned in victory, her eyes held a nostalgia moment as if she was remembering the exact day. Suddenly she looked around before yelling, surprising Savanna in the process
"Astha! Riven! I'm back"
"Who's the wolf?"
Savanna whipped towards the melodic voice and her eyes almost bugged out when she saw two beautiful women, their hairs white as snow and their eyes green as nature but what surprised her more is that they are connected. One body two heads as they smiled at her way, not even bothered at her insulting eyes- watching them in disbelief
"Don't stare it's rude wolf" the other said in a husky voice. This brought her back as she felt her cheeks redden at her rudeness
"I'm sorry I didn't mean-"
"It's fine dear, Riven was just joking, I'm Astha by the way- oh my is that Vashkas birthmark? Oh poor creature" Astha said in such soft tone, different from her sisters
"So these are my sisters, you're probably surprised. Me too I forgot to tell you this slight little detail " Thana said sheepishly before she turned and said with a sigh
"Astha, Riven, this is Savanna-"
"The wolf who wishes to defeat the black witch who still hates the world, we know darling we've seen everything"
"I see everything, She hears them" The other giggled earning a smack from Riven who glared at Astha before she looked back at Savanna with no emotion
"I was joking, Thana told us before hand, Don't want wolves sniffing through our property. So what do you want?"
With hesitation, Savanna cleared her throat before she said lowly
"Your sister told me you where one of those who lived in Vashkas era?"
"Not quite" the other said
"We were considered a young lass of four but this brain of ours is magical"
"More like very old but it works fine dear" Astha smiled in a cheery tone before she cleared her throat, indicating Savanna to continue
"I want to know more about Vashka"
"You want to know if she's defeatable?" Revin corrected with a slight curve in her eyebrow. Savanna of course nodded while she sighed in defeat
"Very well but I might need something to refresh my memory" Savanna of course didn't hesitate to think what she wanted, she quickly took a bunch of money and gave it to Revin's open hands
"Alright, sit"
Savanna sat on the chair and began to hear Revin and Astha who sat in front of her
"Vashkas is a hard case to understand, someone so complicated than the moon goddess herself. Although she is strong, she was never lucky enough to have what a woman wishes to have"
"A bond" Astha continued in agreement
"After the moment she pledge herself to dark magic, she just lost it. Her heart stopped beating the moment she sold herself after seeing happiness from her sister and now she wants it"
"A mate?"
"Her sisters heart" Savanna's head whipped towards the side and saw Thana who injected sat at the end of the wall, sitting quietly as she watched in interest "you're not the only one who seeks her death, a lot has failed but that won't stop us from vanquishing evil"
" but as you know she failed once again to obtain such treasure that she started the death of many men"
"So how do I stop her? How do I stop her army in killing our kind?" Savanna asked in frustration. Vashkas was told be the strongest in battles yet her strength was lost against the moon goddess who only carried a soft heart
"Well....." Ervin's looked at her sister who only frowned but quickly looked at her with a smile
"Dear, no one can defeat Vashka unless you have the power she does not have" she looked at Savanna carefully "love"
"Love?"
"She meant a partner" Revin interjected before she continued "you must have a Mark of a man, specifically the lion heart"
Savanna frowned when she felt a familiarity with the word. But she couldn't wrap her mind with it
Finally Thana stood, her lips in a thin line as she answered
"Do you remember the story of our last king? He's death I mean"
Savanna shook her head in agreement
"This may be hard to believe but through your journey lies the key and the key that may open your power, a power you hold dearly will finally be let free and when It does..... You will have to fight it with your half. Vashka is a powerful witch who was once a wolf- a hybrid like you can end humanity itself"
Confusion swam through her mind a she could not utter their understanding, when Thana saw her reaction she finally sighed
"Are you saying I have to be mated in Order to kill her?"
"You have to be mated to Vashkas creation. Her first soldier"
Now how the hell can I find that!
Suddenly everything clicked, the strength, his history- his ability to weaken the witch
"It can't be" Savanna whispered, her eyes wide as an owl as she stared at them in disbelief
That would mean he.........
Suddenly the ground shook, alert- everyone looked around but Astha and Revins stayed rigid, eyes heated in anger
"You dare bring you souls into my house!"
It was then Savanna heard that same familiar shriek of a monster who once woken the night
Before Savanna had time to react,the windows began to shatter in tiny little peaces. Everyone ducked except the sister who screamed themselves. Head held up high as Ghouls began to invade the small cottage
And all Savanna could ever utter in a whisper was his name
"Lucas"
Everything was chaotic, blood and black ink spilled against the floors and walls, staining them with dirt and pain yet all hr mind could do was think of him
Lionheart....
Savanna fought, her wolf sprang into life as she protected but her eyes never strayed the young girl who fought for her survival
Thana screamed when one pounced at her but luckily Savanna was able to reach her spot before she was torn into peaces. Her wolf building a boundary between the creatures and the little girl as if it was an instinct too
"Savanna!"
Savanna quickly turned towards the sisters who's eyes white as their hair, but she could see the emotions etched in their souls as if it begged her to protect
"Bring her, she will help you" it was then their body began to mold with the creatures in one, forming in one big circle as Thana cried in agony
Savanna could see their body as it weakens, Every ghouls surrounded them as it bit every flesh it could clamp on while Savanna could only look
Frozen, but as she heard their cries, she was ready to pounce. Ready to kill anything that goes in her way so she could save them yet she was stopped when a hand held her arm in a tight grip
Savanna turned and saw Thana who's eyes begged her
"We need to leave"
Savanna wanted to protest, the sight of seeing their body being torn apart was sickening yet all she could do was watch
the memory imprinted on her mind. Forever
"we cant save them-"
Suddenly Revin screamed, her eyes darted towards their way as she screamed for them to run, away from this
"Savanna" Thana begged in mercy " It can't be helped, Vashka will be here any moment and if we waste more time then we're doomed"
Savanna quickly nodded but as she took one more glance at the witches who fought, She noticed how their body began to weaken, their flesh torn as blood splattered against the floor but their powers remained steady
but that wasn't what caught Savanna's attention, no it was the white smoke that began to seep through their hands, like poison as it surrounded them slowly. Savanna knew this energy, she could feel it and it was deadly as sin
And she knew she had to leave at this moment
"Run"
They quickly turned, running as far away from the cottage only to be stopped by a horde of Vashka's soldiers but Savanna fought, She fought hard as Thana cowered behind her for protection
As they left the cottage, Relief swept through Savanna's body but instantly pain began to course through her shoulder when one bit her tightly, its razor teeth and decaying skin wrapped against her body, embracing her to darkness but it instantly left her body when hair began to sprout through her skin, her body transforming into her beast and chomp on the creature with might as it let go in pain
She looked at the tear stained face of Thana as she weeped, but things weren't over. They had to leave before they find them again yet she didn't know how
Savanna was about to suggest the girl to climb on her back but quickly hissed when the wound began to sting, its venom took control as she felt paralyzed. Savanna screamed and Thana was instantly on her side when she fell on the cold hard ground
"Savanna!"
Her wolf cried and it made her panic, she slowly changed into her human form but she instinctively curled up to lessen the agony
"It hurts" She gasp when the pain grew stronger that it felt unbearable to her
'tsk tsk such foolish woman to even enter a place that doesn't welcome your presence, Don't wolf listen to warnings?" their heads whipped towards the direction of the woman's voice, Vashka smiling at them with victory and disappointment
"And here I thought this would be a hard task but never have I thought you would show your face here, you're a wanted woman Xiuhcoatl, not to me but the vampires"
"leave us alone!" Thana yelled, her hands curled up as it tightly gripped Savannas naked body in protection. Savanna praised the child's bravery but this little witch couldn't defeat a royal. Vashka's eyes slowly drifted besides Savanna and into the Thanas's scared eyes, a sadistic smile formed through her red lips in amusement
"You child reek the devils blood, sweet and...." she began to sniff slowly as satisfaction etched on her pale face as her eyes caught Thana once again "You strange creature" she whispered
Panic gripped her, Savanna who struggled began to fight yet she could only grunt, catching the young girls eyes
"No holding back" She whispered as she turned towards the witch in determination
"May the gods help our souls"
It was then they heard an ear piercing screech, a white wave of energy forming into a ball of light and Savanna knew it must be from the sisters but as she watched, the wave never cease. It continued to move in a fast pace That Savanna can even feel her soul being sucked by it
So in instinct, she gave all of her strength and yank Thana down as she covered her quivering body in protection. Her body folded in an embrace as she waited for the moment the light would hit them but her eyes stayed at Vashka who realized what was happening but before she could process it, he was too late for the light hit her in full force that she began to scream
It was in a slow motion, the way he watched it come nearer, how her body grew tired as heat surrounded them

It was then they collided with it in full force and all she could feel is pain
*peeks* hey what's up it's me again! I would like to apologize for not updating soon enough, schools a bitch and I can't do anything about that but, I also want to say I'm sorry:( I've been delayed for how many weeks that I decided I should put this chapter first and then I can torture my brains out with school:)
