To my darling fiancé,
I want this war over just as much as you do, although I can't even begin to imagine the pain you are in right now. The war efforts are increasing. Governments are urging the people to ration different foods certain days so those fighting over both seas would have a little more. I've begun working twelve hour days in order to help make more ammunition.
Christmas with the family was a little different this year, in good ways and not so good. Daniel's first Christmas was a little bit of a joy, but it was not the same without you and Allan here. I saved up money to buy Daniel a little stuffed bear he could cuddle with all the time. Maybe I need one.
I want you to think about something good whilst trapped in your own thoughts and to the bed. I have sent a picture Elizabeth took of me while I was not paying attention on Christmas Day. I've also sent a ribbon you can attach to your dog tags.
And about the nurse? Tell her I'd love to sit and chat over a cup of tea.
