"You useless piece of shit!" His father screams at him, hitting his son again.
Leo doesn't allow the small whimper waiting to escape his lips as he begins to feel his skin open up. He curls up tighter on the ground. He was naked before his parents as they abused him. His mother, who just finished a beer bottle, throws it at her son's back. It shatters on impact, some of the glass sticks in his back.
"Worthless boy," she slurs and vomits on his bare body.
His father kicks him mercilessly for what seems like hours. He finally goes away, leaving Leo lying motionless on the ground. Slowly, he rises, ignoring the pain in his body, and stumbles over to the mirror. His face was mostly untouched, only a thin stream of blood coming from the corner of his lips. The same couldn't be said for the rest of his body.
His chest and arms were covered in bruises. His legs were mostly untouched, but his back was bleeding. Slowly, he walks to the washroom and turns on a cold shower, climbing in to numb his body. He places his hands against the wall and allows himself to cry, the sound of running water covering sobs.
