Noun
1. A person or thing that shifts.
2. Informal. Shift lever.
3. Proper noun. A person who possesses the ability to interact with, manipulate, and/or conjure one of the natural elements.
The Shifters have been around as long as history can recall. At times, they were worshiped, believed to be the reincarnations of Gods. At other times, they were burned at the stake for their practice of 'witchcraft'.
In the twenty-first century, they are seldom more than a myth to the general public. To the highest levels of the American government, however, the Shifters are very real, and very dangerous.
