As soon as the bell rang, I raced after Peter who tried to quickly make a run for it. Latching onto his shoulder, he stopped in his tracks as I resisted the urge to angrily slam him against the locker.
"What was that?"
"What was what?"
"The paper! What did you do to the paper?"
"I looked through your folder and found it. Maybe you should look through your stuff more," he said, nervously putting a hand through his hair. My heart may have just skipped a beat.
"Should I ask why you're biting your lip like that?" He asked curiously looking over my face.
Feeling a blush rush over my face, I came back with, " I do that when I'm angry." That was lie number one. How embarrassing!
"Well that is one weird reflex to have," he said as he sped ahead of me. Catching up to him, I noticed that a rosy blush had taken over his face.
"Mista Finnegan, are you blushing?" I joked.
"I do that when I'm angry," he said as he walked away.
I didn't see him for the rest of the day, including our math class.
