(A/N) IMPORTANT: PLEASEEEEE READ---> hi guys I wanted to post this in the beginning of all my update ebcause i know that many of my readers dont read the messages i put on my message board. That being said i'd like to thank you all for being so patient. I started my senior year & i just have a lot of things going on. Along with all school stuff, i volunteered for a CCD school, i got my first job, & i got into a helathcare program at my school which requires me to volunteer at the hospital twice a week, so im a little busy. So im going to do my best to update whenever i can but im not going to lie it wont be as often as you guys would like it, maybe once a week...twice if i'm lucky. You have to understand i went from a girl who did nothing but stay home & watch netflix to a girl who has something to do everyday. But until i get usd to all of this & everything i'll update once a week. Things are really stressful & i have a lot to deal with. But i want to thank you guy again for really being patient & understanding. If it was up to my 'd update everyday. So you guys are the best, i really hope you enjoy this update:)

“So how’s your ankle?” Carter asked me as I sat in the lobby sitting on the couch by the fire with my leg on the coffee table.
“Oh hey, it’s a little sore but its getting better…I could finally walk on it.” I said with a smile as I closed the book I was reading.
“I thought I’d come down here and relax since everyone’s out skiing and what not…” I said.
“Am I interrupting your relaxation time?” he asked as I smirked at him.
“Nope, you just made it better…” I said as I patted on the cushion next to me signaling for him to sit.
“I asked my slave driver of a sister for a break so I can come see you…” he said and I smiled.
“I’m glad…” I said.
“Do you feel bad that you can’t ski with everyone?” he asked and I shook my head.
“Nah, I think I had enough skiing to last a lifetime. Plus for some odd reason I actually enjoy sitting here alone…” I said with a smirk.
“Well I wanted to ask you if you wanted to come and see a movie at the theater. Its empty so that means we have it all to ourselves.” He said and for a second all I could think about was Spencer. What would he think? Where is he? Why isn’t he here?
“That sounds like fun…its just I wanted to stay off my ankle so that maybe I’ll be able to wear heels tonight. …” I said as I gestured to my ankle.
“Don’t worry about that,” he said with a smirk. Before I was able to open my mouth I felt his hands wrap around my back and underneath my thighs.
“Woah…” I said as he lifted me up bridal style.
“I told you not to worry…” he said with a smirk that made me laugh, maybe Carter wasn’t as bad as Spencer thought…
“I could get used to this…” I said with a smirk as he chuckled.
“This place is great…” I said as he walked into the theater. There was a large movie screen and rows of large red velvet couches.
“I know…” he said.
“So what’s playing?” I asked as he placed me down on the couch.
“Well the next movie is ……… but it starts in 10 minutes…” he said so I nodded.
“So we’ll wait.” I said with a smile.
“So are you and your sister close?” I asked and he nodded.
“Yeah, but she’s kind of crazy…” he said and I laughed.
“What’s the story behind you and that teacher dude?” he asked and my heart almost stopped.
“There’s no story, he’s my brothers best friend so I know him all my life…but we hate each other…” I lied.
“Didn’t seem that way yesterday…” he said.
“Well that’s cause he was making sure I was okay, if anything happened to me my brother would kill him…” I said with a laugh hoping to get away from the conversation.
“You know you're pretty cool Lainey, I haven’t met a girl like you…” he said as I smirked at him.
“You barely know me.” I said.
“Well what I know, I like…” he said as he moved closer to me making me move further from him Spencer’s warning repeating throughout my head.
“Scared?” he asked with a smirk.
“Do I have a reason to be?” I asked.
“Not at all…” he said with a smirk that gave me the chills.
“I really like you Lainey…” he said as he placed his hand on my thigh and brought his lips closer to mine. Before I even had a chance to say no his lips crashed into mine.
The kiss felt urgent, sloppy, and rushed…overall just wrong. I couldn’t explain it but it just didn’t feel right.
But clearly Carter didn’t feel the same way as he pushed me down on to the sofa trapping me down with his heavy body.
I didn’t like the way this felt at all, it was like I was being suffocated or trapped and there was no way to stop it. What made it worse was all I could think about was Spencer, what he was doing and where he was going…
“Carter…” I mumbled against his mouth but he didn’t stop.
“Carter.” I mumbled again but stronger and still he didn’t stop.
“Carter!” I screamed, as I was able to free my hands and push him on his shoulders.
He pulled his lips from mine and leaned his head back only a few inches not giving me much room to get away.
“What’s wrong?” he asked like he didn’t realize how upset I was.
“What’s wrong?” I asked caustically.
“Carter we need to slow down.” I said as I tried to shimmy myself away from him, but after a few moments of failing carter lifted off of me and sat back on the couch looking at me puzzled.
“I just met you and I don’t know what you thought, but this isn’t happening…” I said as I tried to move away from him.
“I know I’m sorry Lainey…to be honest I don’t know what came over me…” he said as he ran his hand through his hair as I nodded slowly.
“Its just I like you so much, I wanted to be able to tell my friends back at school that I was with the most beautiful girl ever…” he said as his hand creeped back up on my thigh.
“Yeah you said that before, still doesn’t make a difference…” I said moving my leg away from him.
“Listen I think I should go…” I said just as I turned to get my things I felt a tight grasp on my arm.
“Lainey you cant…” he said in a soft voice as he gripped my arm painfully.
“Yes I can, let go…you're hurting me…” I said but he still didn’t let go.
“You're leaving tomorrow Lainey…I just want to spend as much time with you as possible…” he said as his grip loosened.
“Well its getting late I have to get ready for dinner, and you have to get ready for work so maybe I’ll see you later…” I said as I pulled my arm away and limped out of the theater as fast as I could without looking back.
I had no idea what just went on, it was as if I was in there with a totally different person. Carter seemed impatient and pushy, and just way more than I could handle.
I couldn’t believe that I just went through that. Even though I just met Carter I didn’t think he’d be the type of guy to do that…
Well I guess I was a bad judge of character… which didn’t surprise me.
The whole time I couldn’t help but think about what Spencer was saying about Carter being like his sister, maybe I should have believed him…
All I know is that I plan to stay as far away from Carter until I leave…

“Oh my God! That asshole!” Rose said as she curled my hair.
“Rose it isn’t a big deal…” I lied.
“Yes it is…did you tell Jake? What about Mr.King?” she asked eagerly.
“No, and no…I don’t need Jake getting suspended and Spence getting fired for no reason. Carter was just coming on a little to strong but I handled it….” I said.
“I knew there had to be something wrong with that guy. No ones that rich, hot and sweet…it just goes against the laws of nature.” She said as I let out a small chuckle.
“God I wish you would tell someone. From what you told me Spencer said about his sister crazy runs in that family…” she said but I just shrugged.
“Well at least we get to dress up tonight looking all hot for dinner, and the best part is no chaperones!” Rosie said eagerly and I looked at her with a small smile.
“How are you not more excited? You're ankles feeling better, the teachers are dining on there own, and we get to party hardy tonight.” Rosie said as I shrugged.
“Carter really got to you didn’t he?” She asked but I just shook my head because it wasn’t Carter that was on my mind…it was Spence.
“I’m just thinking about Spencer…” I said.
“When are you not thinking about Spencer?” she asked with a smirk.
“Seriously, I keep trying to convince myself he hasn’t changed…that he’s the same asshole player he’s always been…but maybe I'm wrong…” I said.
“Suddenly I'm rethinking all m character judgments…” I said with a smile.
“Listen girl tonight’s not the night to stress okay…now stand up and look at how beautiful you look…” She said.
When I looked in the mirror I couldn’t help but smile at my reflection, as least I didn’t look as bad as I felt. My long dark hair was curled down my back, I was wearing a sheer reddish purple dress that was open in the back, with my dark tights and reddish purple boots that I finally wear without my ankle killing me. (Terrible description, pictures on the side-à)
“Now lets go have an amazing time!” Rosie squealed in excitement.

“What’s up with you?” Jake asked as I took a seat between him and Rosie.
“Nothing…” I said as I glanced across the room to Carter who stared at me intently sending chills throughout my body quickly making me look away.
“I know you long enough to know that you're lying,” he said.
“Leave it alone Jake…” Rosie said.
“Whatever…” he said but I could already tell he wasn’t going to give up that easy.
“I’ll be back…” I said as I got up quickly. I just couldn’t handle Carters lingering stares anymore, I just needed to escape it.
As soon as I exited through the main dining room into the hallway I could hear the door open behind me and immediately I began to panic thinking it was Carter…but thankfully it was Jake.
“Can I help you?” I asked.
“Actually yes…I need a big favor,” he said with his puppy dog eyes.
“What…” I asked cautiously.
“We’re having a bon voyage party up on the roof, there’s a green house up there its awesome…” he said and I nodded waiting for him to continue.
“But I kind of need helping getting everything set up…” he said.
“Now?” I asked in disbelief.
“Yes now. I want everything to be perfect for tonight; I’m going to throw a party that no one will ever forget…” he said.
“Cant it wait until I’m done eating?” I asked but Jake just shook his head.
“Listen just go up I have to go get the booze and I’ll meet you in five…” he said as I let out a deep breath.
“Ugh you really suck…” I said as he smiled brightly.
“I know, thanks babe you're my hero.” He said before kissing me on my forehead and walking back into the dining room.
After I took the elevator to the roof cursing Jake the whole way I was surprised to see the gate to the roof open wide. If Jake wanted to throw such a great party, you’d think he’d remember to close everything so he wouldn’t get caught…
When I traveled up the stairs I could feel the breeze coming from the roof. As soon as I stepped out side the coldness hit me like a brick surrounding me in all directions. So I immediately ran into the large green house that Jake told me about.
As soon as I got inside my body returned to warmth and I immediately noticed the twinkling lights that were wrapped around the large plants at the back…
It honestly looked beautiful with the lights and the plants I was in shock. It was like a scene out of a movie. I could even hear a low song playing through the speakers that just perfected this even more. I couldn’t believe that Jake put this all together I thought to myself as I continued to walk through…until my eyes landed on Spencer.
Spencer was standing by a small table set for two with a large white candle burning and a beautiful rose in a small vase.
It took me a second to realize what was going on…Spencer set this whole thing up…he set me up.
“Before you say anything I wanted to tell you that I’m ready to prove to you that I’m all in…” he said and I couldn’t help but smile.
“This is…beautiful…” I said as I looked around the green house.
“Well I did it all for you…with a help of a few friends.” He said as he pulled out my chair for me to sit as I looked at him with wide eyes.
“Oh my goodness Spencer King has manners!” I said theatrically as he rolled my eyes.
“Just sit.” He said and I did.
Once he sat across from me and I looked into his beautiful blue eyes I realized that being with him was the highlight of my day…
It actually made me forget about everything that happened with Carter.
“I can’t believe you did all this…I cant believe you set me up! Even had my own best friend in on it to…” I said as I shook my head with a smile.
“Well go big or go home right?” he said with a smirk.
“Well this is definitely big…”
“We’re even going to go all lady and tramp up in here,”
Spencer said as he lifted the round silver covering revealing a large dish of spaghetti.
“I know you're a sucker for a good Disney movie.” He said as I smiled at him.
“You didn’t yell or leave yet, so I'm taking that as a good sign.” Spencer said and I just couldn’t help but look at him with a bright smile.
For some reason I could just tell he wasn’t the same Spencer that I used to know. It was as if something about him told me he wanted this to work as much as I did.
“So…” Spencer said as he put some spaghetti in my plate as I looked at him questioningly.
“Are you ready for the awkward getting to know each other part of our date?” he asked as I looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
“I think I know all I need to about you, and I assume you know as much about me as I know about you.” I said.
“I know but now its our chance to really get to know each other, I want to tell you things that you never knew…to prove to you that I believe what we have is real enough to share everything with you…” he said and I looked at him with wide eyes. I couldn’t even believe that Spence even said that…
It was so surprising to see him try instead of being so forceful.
“I’ll go first…” he said and I nodded.
“When I used to stay over at your house I would steal your stuffed animal to sleep with at night,” he said so seriously that I couldn’t help but let out a loud laugh.
“Which one?” I asked.
“Mr. Snuggles.” he said and my jaw dropped.
“How dare you!” I said dramatically.
“Well the way you walked around with him pinned to your side like he was the best stuffed monkey in the world, how could I not steal him?” he said as I let out a small laugh.
“Your turn…” he said as he took a sip of his drink and I nodded.
“When I was younger I tripped on purpose so that you would be really nice to me…” I said with a smirk.
“We were some weird kids…” he said.
“Yes we were…” I nodded.
“Things were great between us before I went and messed it all up,” he said with regret and guilt consuming him.
“Spence…” I began to say before he interrupted me.
“Lainey I’ve always wanted to tell you how incredibly sorry I am for treating you that way when we were younger. As crazy as it sounds I thought I was doing the right thing” he said as I looked at him questioningly.
“I guess I should finally tell you everything that I’ve been holding back. I want you to know that I’m all in and I’m not the best at expressing how I feel so bare with me…just listen, don’t say a word.” He said nervously and I nodded.
“When we were younger I knew that you and I had something special. I know I wasn’t the only one who noticed it even your brother would see how close you and I were. Of course I didn’t realize what it was until later on but back then I knew you were really special, and the older I got the more I realized that there was a possibility of you getting hurt…growing up doe that to you…” he said as if there was a double meaning as I looked at him puzzled.
“Oh god I suck at this,” he said as he let out a shaky deep breath
“I didn’t want you ever to get hurt, not a scrape on the knees or a broken heart…and you're brother and I did a really good job of protecting you from anything and everything and in doing so I didn’t realize that I would have to eventually protect you…from me. When I got a little older I realized that I would never not think of you as an amazing girl and that scared me, because we spent so much time making sure you wouldn’t be the type of girls your brother and I used to mess around with. The girls that thought they could change us and make us love them… the girls that would eventually get hurt. ” He continued.
“And in order to do that I had to be the ass that I was. It didn’t only make you want to stay away from guys like me, but it made you want to stay away from me…” he said.
“I don’t know… this just is stupid,” he said as he ran his hand through his hair nervously.
Everything he said made my heart fill with warmth, and made everything in the past make a lot of sense. To be honest it was adorable seeing Spence so nervous but I reached across the table and took hold of his hand. When his eyes met mine he looked comforted and calm.
“When I went away to school with your brother all he ever did was talk about you and everything that was going on, and I even stalked your facebook to see that you grew up into such a beautiful girl. He would ask me to come home with him for holidays and I would always say I was busy cause I couldn’t imagine seeing you again…seeing the all grown up you…” he said.
“I don’t even know what I’m trying to say but I just want you to know that I’ve always known how I felt…maybe it wasn’t clear and I didn’t want to admit it, but I knew” He said as he smiled at me.
“I always loved you…and I always will,” he said as he gripped my hand reassuringly.
“That’s why I wanted to tell you that I’m willing to tell everyone you want, get fired, lose my best friend…all so that you would know that I'm in this 100%.” He said as I looked at him with wide eyes.
“Wow.” Was all I could say.
“You don’t have to do all that, trust me. But Spence you got to understand where I’m coming from, these feelings scare me…” I said as he nodded slowly.
“You scare me…” I continued as he looked at me questioningly.
“You were always the guy that was with a different girl every week. You always knew what to say to make a girl o whatever you wanted…” I said.
“Lainey this is me trying to show you things are different…” he said and I nodded but the truth was that I was scared. Being with Spencer in more ways then one was really intimidating…but I guess that’s another talk for another time…
“After my parents died, the only thing that ever made me feel whole again was seeing you…even hearing your name made me smile…” He said as I looked at him with a smile.
“When I accepted the job here and moved in I really thought things would be different. I thought I was older you were older…things must have changed. But deep down I knew the truth and I think that’s the real reason I came…” he said.
“Well I love you and…I trust you…” I said as I let out deep breath.
“For some reason I feel that things are different…and it’s worth a shot…” I said.
“So what does this mean?” he asked as I bit my bottom lip nervously and shrugged.
“I think it means we should dance…” he said as I looked at him like he was insane.
“Come on…” he said as he got up and held his hand out to me to take.
As I looked at him I reluctantly took his hand and got up with him.
The song that played was everything has changed, by Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. I couldn’t help but think how perfect this song was for this moment as I wrapped around my arms around his neck and I felt his rest on the small of my back.
“I can’t believe you dance…” I said as I looked into his beautiful eyes.
“That makes the 2 of us…” he said as I let out a small laugh.
“You're beautiful…” Spencer said as he looked at me intently. I couldn’t help but bite my bottom lip nervously. It was as if he was examining me and I was so insecure as he looked at me.
“It means that I want to be your…boyfriend…” Spencer let out after a few moments of silence. I looked at him with wide eyes in disbelief…
Boyfriend, I repeated in my head the world sending tingles throughout my body.
“If you’ll let me,” He said as I smiled at him.
“Well…I want to be your girlfriend…” I said as he smiled.
“Wow…” he let out.
“I know…this is weird…” I said as he looked into my eyes.
“The best kind of weird that there is…” he said as he brought his lips closer to mine.
His lips pressed against mine and for a second it felt like the world was shaking around me. I don’t know why but this kiss felt real…warm…amazing.
It was like we both wanted it, and we were both willing to admit it.
I could feel his tongue trace the outline of my lips just as I pulled away. He looked at me questioningly.
“Spence we’re going to have to be extra careful about this…I don’t need you losing your job over me…losing A.J” I said with concern as he lifted his hand and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.
“We will, and I wont… even if I did it wouldn’t be because of you. I want this more than I want anything…I know that now.” He said as he lifted my chin to look into his eyes.
“I’ll do whatever it takes to be with you…” he said and I couldn’t help but smile.
I didn’t know much about everything but I did know a few things. One that I loved being her with Spence, and I love him. Two, that I don’t know what I would do if anyone found out…and three, this could end up being something really good…or really bad.
But for once I was done over thinking things and I was just going to enjoy being with him now and hope for the best….

This chapter actulally was pretty hard to write because again i couldnt do it all at once I had to do it like late at night when i was exhuasted & it just seemes like it took way to long & i was getting pretty bored of writing. But i hope you liked it.
