Umber POV
"Umber, dad wants ya." I look at my brother Eevee. I look at the flower bed I am laying on, and growl. The other Umbreons call me Umber, I dont know why. We are all the same species. But my pack just decided to give me Umber.
"I'd rather not move." I look at the pip squeek.
"Big brother. Please don't fight with me this morning." Other Pokemon call him Eveni. Well, we all do.
"Fine." I groaned, and stretch my long legs as I stood. Just to make Eveni mad, I took like 5 minutes just to stretch.
"UMBER!" He yelled. I laughed.
"Calm down Eveni, I'm comin' I'm comin'." I start walking toward him.
"Good I didn't want to have to fight you." He slowly turns around.
"What were you gonna do about it? You are too weak, hehe, you haven't even evolved yet!" I chuckled. He turned back around.
"I-I'm still in training!" He yelled.
"But~ what level are you again? Oh wait. Level 29. Hmm. Late bloomer." I smirk. He tackled me to the ground wilst screaming.
"EVENI, UMBER!" We heard a low voice enter the cave we were in.
"GET ON YOUR FEET NOW!" We don't hesitate to follow the orders. Sure enough, it was Father. He is one of the strongest, scariest Umbreons I know.
"Eveni, get to training." He told my brother sternly. Eveni hesitated.
"EMMEDIATLY!" Dad snapped. Eveni ran for the hills.
"Umber." He looked at me, with a slightly annoyed face.
"You need to start listening to orders, especially when its this important. You are going to become leader of this pack someday, and I want you ready." Oh, did I forget to mention that I am the leader's son? Yes, well sorry.
"I have been talking with the Sylveon pack lately.. I feel their leader's daughter would make a good wife for you." He walked around my den. I stopped moving, and froze.
"You-you're not talking about Sylvannah.. are you..?" You see, I hate Sylvannah, she is obsessed with me, and is just so annoying!
"Yes, I am talking about her. We need them to be good with our pack... they are very strong." He looked at me.
"NO!" I screamed at him.
"What do you mean, no?" He slowly walked toward me.
"I WILL NOT MARRY THAT ANNOYING RAT!" I screamed, almost in tears. He then used Tail Whip on me really hard. Which did bring me to tears.
"YOU WILL NOT DISOBEY MY ORDERS...! DO YOU HEAR ME!?" I got close to the ground, shaking, and crying.
"Ahem.. good." He turned away from me. I stayed on the ground.
"Hey, Eos?" An Umbreon walked in, thats my dad's name.
"Hunters are just about to leave. Just letting you know." The Umbreon stood near the entrance of the cave. My dad shot me a glance.
"Take... this with you." He bit down on the back of my neck and flung me over to the entrance of the cave. The Umbreon ran to help me. I soon noticed it was my best friend Reo.
"Be gone now." My dad ordered. We did as we were told.
"What was that all about?" Reo looked at me, as we met up with the other hunters. I shook away a tear. It wasn't the first time my dad has treated me like that.
"Woah, are you okay?" He nudges me. I nod, and shake.
"Line up!" The hunter leader says. I look around; there is only 5 Umbreons going, including me, Reo, and the leader. In that case is two other Umbreons. One girl, and the other a boy. The girl is the hunter leaders wife, I think. We headed off into the dark forest, fast but quietly.
~About ten minutes later~
"Okay, we are near Espeon territory, kill on sight." He whispered. All of us nodded, and kept sniffing around for prey.
Espen POV
"Espen, darling." My mother called to me. I walked up to her 'elegently'.
"Come sit next to me." I sat next the throne she was sitting on.
"Soon, you will be on this throne. Just thinking, you have grown so much. I am so proud of you." I look up to her, she is still looking forward, I look back in front of me.
"What do you think of Joel, you know. The Jolteon. He is pretty dashing." (no pun intended).
"I do not like him, mother." I calmly say. She looks at me.
"Well that is the Pokemon you are going to marry whether you like it or not. This kingdom is for the most, sofisticated. The Jolteons are very neat, but so are the Flareons. But we shall not get into that." She looks back.
"My queen." An Espeon comes up to my mother.
"My queen, it is almost the Umbreons time to hunt." The Espeon notifies her. She does a tiny nod.
"Make sure every Espeon is in the gates, and send out the gaurds to the front of the gate I case they try to invade." The Espeon nods and leaves.
"Mother, what is wrong with the Umbreons?" I ask. She gives me a glance, and shakes her head.
"Now that story is for a different time. I suggest you go get ready. Joel and his parents will be over tonight." She nudges me. I nod, and walk to my room. I want to see the Umbreons. I want to see if they are as bad as mother puts them to be.
I climb out of the hole from my room, I have snuck out many times before. But I never seen an Umbreon. I climb out of the hole, and sneek past the gates and the gaurds. I come up on a big tree. So I decided to hide behind it.
"Split up! Umber you go that way, Reo, go that way-" that is all I heard because he told an Umbreon to go the way I was. I darted for another tree. I watched as the Umbreons faded into the dark. They look dirty.. but don't seem all that ba-
I get tackled to the ground, they are on top of me growling. I hiss at them to try to scare them, but it didn't work.
"GET OFF THIS INSTANT! I-I COMMAND YOU!" I yell. But they don't even hesitate to get off.
"Sorry, kitty. But pack orders was to kill any Espeon on sight." He growls.
"G-GAURDS. GAUR-" he covers my mouth quickly.
"Sshh." He looks around. Then back at me.
"Listen I am not gonna hurt you. But if you scream. My pack will kill you. Okay?" He whispers, I nod. He lets go, and pushes me behind a tree.
"What are you doing?" I ask as he looks around.
"Ssshh.." he looks around more. I hiss.
"Umber!?" Another Umbreon approaches.
"What Reo?" Umber. I think his name is Umber.
"Are you okay? I thought I heard an Espeon." Reo tells Umber, he pushes me with his back paw.
"N-no it was just a Pidgey." He tells the other Umbreon.
"Oh. Well the hunt ends in 5 minutes." I heard footsteps getting lighter.
"Okay." Umber looks at me.
"He left." I get up, and straighten my posture.
"Why are you helping me." I snap at him.
"No. No need to say thank you, it's fine." He starts walking away.
"Humph... h-hey wait!" I run in front of him. He stops.
"T-thank you." I bow. He continues walking.
"My name is Espen." He stops and looks at me.
"Umber." He does a slight grin.
"Pleasure to meet you, Umber." I smile.
"You too," he drops his smile.
"I have to go now, bye Espen." He fades into the dark. I turn around, look back at where he was, then go home.
Now there is something different about this Umbreon, but I can't pinpoint what it is.
