Goddess Durga through all her forms, encompasses the essence of salvation and sacrifice. She is the mother of bounty and wealth, as also of beauty and knowledge. She is the embodiment of purity, knowledge, truth and self realisation.

The highest form of truth present in any being or Jiva is known as 'Athman' or supreme consciousness is infinite, birthless, deathless, beyond time and space, and beyond the law of causation. Goddess Durga is the inherent dynamic energy through which this supreme manifests itself.

Shiva's power as Shakti, the dynamic creative mother aspect of the Godhead. It is She who creates and at the time of dissolution, it is She who swallows Her own creation. Shakti cannot exist without Shiva and Shiva cannot personify with Shakti. She is the energy aspect of Lord Shiva. Without Durga, Shiva has no expression.

Therefore Hinduism proclaims the highest personification of God, the supreme energy, to be feminine. It conceptualizes the supreme form of Divinity to be a woman. This demonstrates the elevated status of women in Hinduism as a religion.

But as modern people we believe in a different aspect. We want Durga to be the force of good who kills 'evil' and this leads to subversive counter - arguments that make Durga an instrument of colonial and oppressive forces.

In my book, Durga, stands up for her self respect. Despite of the oppression, the hurdles that she faced, she emerged victorious. She is an inspiration to all. My aim was to portray a stronger and fiercer side of womanhood. That I thought could be achieved by Durga as my main character. She couldn't have been successful without the help of Rudra. The others did help her, but out of duty. The former helped her because they are two bodies but one soul.

I hope this book serves as an inspiration to all to fight against the bad. An inspiration to all women to fight against the injustice.

Thank you for reading, voting and commenting. It has been the backbone of my support. I hope you enjoyed reading the book as much as I enjoyed writing it. (Yes your votes and comments actually made me enjoy writing it when initially I was little tensed about how this topic will be received. )

Thank you from bottom of my heart for showering your love on my book.
