"You brought colours to my life. Now let me bring a rainbow to yours."

[Y/N] was sitting on her chair eating her sandwich. Her eyes were still slightly red from all the painful cries and tears. Her body wasn't so much of an energetic ball, unlike yesterday.  She stared out the window and saw the same old patches of grey mocking her, saying "you'll never see our colour again". She glanced at her classmates and saw their eyes. They were sharp like knives and carried vulgar in them. If eyes could kill, [Y/N] would already be in hell. She spotted Sakura, but she was busy talking to her other friends. Sakura didn't look any different. Though she looks like she carried no hatred towards [Y/N], looks can deceive. And [Y/N] was being cautious about that.

"Hey." A familiar figure went into [Y/N]'s view and stood there. She looked up at him, and she wanted to cry.

  It was Kenma.

She wanted to cry to him. She wanted to hit him. Tell him that the whole "plan" didn't work. [Y/N] knew it wasn't his fault, but she needed to blame someone. She didn't want to take the blame upon herself, and she certainly didn't want to be that girl who blames her loved one for every darn thing.

"Yes?" She tried to keep her voice cool, but negative thoughts were racing in her head.

"Can you do me a favour?" A small smile that was barely visible was shown on his face.

  "What favour?"

"After school. It's really important. I need you to meet me, after school, in the gym."

The last words resonated in her ears. What used to be her "bus stop" before going home was now just a strange and empty hall. But Kenma did look a bit pleadful, so she decided to nod her head. But she still didn't expect anything. She thought he just wanted to say a few words in private and decided get it over and done.

"That's good. Oh, and remember to wear your gym clothes, ok?" And he went back to his table and continued with his game.

  'Gym clothes? What for?'

[Y/N] didn't have time to think any more of that topic because Sakura suddenly came to the picture and sat opposite of her. When [Y/N] looked at her, she was strangely beaming with excitement. [Y/N] asked her why's she so bouncy and frilly.

"Hmm, no reason~ Anyways! [Y/N], are you planning to confess to anyone later? Hmm?"

"What? No. Of course not." [Y/N] replied in a confused yet slightly angered tone.

"Hahaha, we'll see about that later~ Just, well, be sure to go to the gym after school, ok? My boyfriend will also be there so you don't need to worry!"

'Boyfriend?? Did she already confess to Kuroo or something?' Her heart ached but still kept her straight face. "What's so important about me going to the gym?"

"You'll see!" She jumped and became even more fluffy. "Just enjoy your time later~ Bye!" She hurried off to her friends and left a confused [Y/N] sitting there with her sandwich still in her hand. [Y/N] threw away her sandwich, not having the appetite anymore. She wondered what in the world the two people who came across her table meant. Gym clothes? Boyfriend? What was going on? But [Y/N] forgot about all that when she thought about the possibility of Kuroo being there. Since Sakura did mention her boyfriend was there. Or was it Lev? [Y/N] gave up and sat back down her seat.

The day passed like no other, and the two who talked to [Y/N] dissapered. 'Weirdos.' She thought. [Y/N] ended up complying by changing into her gym clothes, but she took her time going to the gym. The closer she got, the tougher is was. The gym brought back so many memories between her and Kuroo. The days she watched him play, the days she waited for him, they were all so enchanting. She thought she could live with a happy ending. But sadly, all good things must come to an end. But for [Y/N], her ending came a tad bit too early.

When she arrived at the gym, she could hear the faint pulse of her heart ringing in her head. It didn't feel like a headache, but neither did it feel like excitement. Her palms grew sweaty as she rose them and held the doorknob. The gym doors were somehow close so she had to open them. But when she did, she saw the usual volleyball court already set up. A few volleyballs were spread around the entire gym and she saw three boys standing inside.

'I thought there weren't any practices today...'

"Oh, [Y/N]! Glad you could come!" One of them turned around and greeted her. It was Kuroo.

  'Huh? He's--'

"Oh, [Y/N]. Nice timing. We were just about to start." The other male turned around and motioned her to stand beside him. It was Kenma.

"What's... going on?" [Y/N] slowly moved towards Kenma and took in her surroundings. She was standing on a volleyball court. Kuroo and another boy were standing on the opposite court while Kenma and hers were standing side by side. Kuroo was holding a ball.

"[L/N]-san, glad you could come!" The voice came from the boy standing beside Kuroo. It was Lev. "I don't think Kenma really told you about this, and I hoped Sakura-chan wasn't spilling everything to you, hahaha. Man, my girlfriend's really like a fire ball, huh?" He chuckled.

'Huh? What? They were still together??' Millions of questions rose in her head.

"Basically," Now Kenma spoke. "Kuroo wanted to see if there was anyone outside our team who could play volleyball well, so he asked me to find someone with potential and see if they're good. And I chose you. So now, we're going to have a 2v2 match against Kuroo and Lev. Whichever team wins gets to command the other to do something for them. Let's do our best." It was weird and confusing, but his calm voice somehow relieved [Y/N] with the situation that was going on. It was still hard for her to face Kuroo, but she tried to act like her normal self, as if what happened yesterday didn't happen at all. Although, the condition of what happens after one team wins slightly bothered her.

  "Wait, now??"

"Yes, now." This time, it was from Kuroo. His voice was deep, and he spun the volleyball around his finger. "I wanted to have a little friendly match with someone outside our volleyball team, and I guess Kenma chose you. Hahaha!" He laughed along with Lev. "Now, shall we start?"

Although still confused, [Y/N] decided to oblige to Kenma's favour and play along. "I won't go all out," Kuroo said, but the moment he served the ball, bruises were already visible when [Y/N] tossed it back. The four of them continued to play, but Kenma's team was on the edge. Well, what can you expect? [Y/N] was never the sporty type, so she didn't really do good in it. Forget volleyball, she couldn't even run a 2.6km run in 30mins.

The match continued, and more bruises were formed on [Y/N]. On her legs, her arms, and even a small one on her face. But it didn't really affect her. After all, she was already used more pain that what was thrown at her during the match. All four gave it their best, and from the start, everyone knew who won and who lost. 14-25. Kuroo's team won.

[Y/N] laid her back on the ground and was panting nonstop. Kenma didn't seem that tired but he was still panting. Kuroo and Lev high-fived each other and rejoiced in a way. The losing team decided to put back all the volleyballs while the winning team went over to drink water. When all the balls were put in the basket, Kenma asked [Y/N] to help keep them inside the storage room because he had something to do. It sounded suspicious but [Y/N] didn't really care.

She slowly placed the basket in the store room because of the bruises all over that ached. While putting it back, she thought of why on earth did Kenma invite her, out of all people, to play a match against two volleyball powerhouses. And Sakura's boyfriend... was she lying the entire time?

"Yo." Kuroo stood at the entrance of the storage room.

"Oh, Kuroo." She tried her best not to let her voice waver. Despite the refreshing match, seeing Kuroo smirk normally and act like before kind of scared her. And it kind of hurt her too.

"So, about that condition. I won, you lost. Lev already asked Kenma to treat him to ice cream, so I guess that leaves you and me." He smirked at her.

"O-Oh, I see. Then, what do you want me to do?" She muttered with a sad tone. 'He's probably gonna ask me to stay away from him... This is just another one of his acts.'

"Hehe, well," He closed the doors of the storage room and started walking towards [Y/N].

"U-Uh, Kuroo... What are you do-doing?" She started backing up until the point her back met a wall. 'Shit, shit, shit.' Kuroo walked towards her until he was so near, she could hear his breathing. He leaned his head forward and bluntly said:

"[L/N] [Y/N], do you want the bruises to disappear?"

"Hu-Huh??... I guess? You have any band aid or anything?" 'I thought he was going to say something else...'

"No, but I have something better~" He suddenly blew to your ear.

"W-Wh-Wh-Wha-a-a-at-t-t-t???" She flinched and tried to back away, but she forgot that her back's stuck to the wall. She cocked her head to the side and hoped that he wouldn't see her tomato face. "Then, how are you going to uh, make them g-g-go away..." She softly said.

"Oh, easy. I'll just... do something... like this." He took advantage of the side of her neck that she exposed when she cocked her head and kissed it.

  "Ah!"

"Hm? What's the matter? Is it not helping?"

[Y/N] couldn't give him a straight answer. She kept stuttering and blushing that her face was probably scarlet red by now. But the storage room was dark, so [Y/N] hoped that he wouldn't see it. She was both shocked and scared, yet had a tingly feeling swelling in her chest. It wasn't the first time she felt it. In fact, the same tingly feeling she felt months ago intensified. Kuroo gave out a small chuckle before saying something.

"Awh, look what has happened to you. Bruises everywhere. Look, there's some on your arms, your legs, even a small one near your lips. Was it because the volleyball hit your face that time? Hahaha!"

He gently took [Y/N]'s arm and told her to relax and let him "cure" her. He saw patches of dark purple marks all over. "I'm sorry." He muttered.

Kuroo placed chaste kisses all over the bruises on [Y/N]'s arm. They weren't harsh but rather, delicate. He made sure to not skip any bruises and treated all of them equally-- with care and passion. [Y/N] was absolutely speechless. Kuroo's actions robbed her from speaking. Her mind could hear the pulse of her heart quickening as she tried to control her emotions. Everything was a blur. She couldn't concentrate on anything. It was too much for someone like her.

'But... His lips feel so soft...'

"Ahh, your legs too. Wow, I really feel bad for going hard against you. C'mon, sit down. It's easier that way." He held her back and motioned her to sit on the floor. At this point, [Y/N] just listened and didn't ask. It was a lot of things to take in, and she couldn't properly digest everything. Once she sat down, Kuroo caressed her smooth legs and gave them the same treatment as her arms. He heard a small noise escape from [Y/N], and he just smiled. But, although [Y/N] was sort of "enjoying it", all she could see were dark shades of grey. No matter what he did, the only thing she could see through her eyes were grey and black. And it saddened [Y/N] because she thought that Kuroo wasn't being sincere, leading to her not being able to see any colours.

It continued for who knows how long until--

He gently grabbed her chin with one hand. His other hand was still on her leg as he stared into her eyes. They were firm. No longer daggers staring at her, but more like gentle, concerned eyes gazing right back at her. She was so confused that it seemed all too planned out. Nothing going wrong, everything going right. It was all too suspicious.

"I'm sorry," He whispered. "You had to endure so much this whole time. I can't imagine-- I'm so sorry I avoided you. I... really am. D-Do you... still like me, after all this time?" His voice slightly cracked.

"I," [Y/N] tried to find the right words to say. "When we met, when we parted, yesterday, today, tomorrow, and forever. I will love you with all... my... heart." Her eyes were blurry and watery. Before she knew it, she was crying. Out of happiness, out of joy.

"Hahaha, glad to know that!" Kuroo smiled and chuckled. He cupped [Y/N]'s face with his hands and went even closer than before. "I... I want to make it up to you. Is that ok? Please." He looked straight into her crying eyes and spoke in his gentle voice.

"O-Of course, Kuroo." Through her sniffles, [Y/N] let out a small laugh and gave returned him a warm smile.

When Kuroo heard those words, he decided to close the gap between them. It was quite a shock to [Y/N], but she didn't really mind. In fact, it was refreshing. All the fuzzy and warm feelings in her chest now made sense. The times her heart beated fast when she was with him, it all made sense. Whenever his laugh made her slighly blush, it made sense. However, her eyes widened in absolute shock when she something appear again. After so long, after months, after an eternity of time, she saw it again.

  'Could it be--'

Red,

Orange,

Yellow,

Green,

Blue,

Purple.

The moment Kuroo's lips met with hers, the outrage of colours burst. Colour after colour, as if an explosion happened, all suddenly were able to be seen from [Y/N]'s eyes. Though dark, she was able to see the yellow and blue volleyball, the red jersey of Kuroo, his skin, the purple skipping ropes behind them, the green boxes over in the corner. They were dark, but the small light through the high window gave enough light to show the colours of the entire rainbow and all its shades.

[Y/N] felt tears rolling down again. It was pure bliss. The kiss, the colours, everything. The kiss from Kuroo was his most sincere apology ever. He was really sorry, and he really loved her too. Knowing that, [Y/N]'s heart felt light. No more heavy, crying, heart. And the outburst of colours, too. It was her dream. Her life-long goal. Finding colours were the best thing that could ever happen. And it did.

She was so overjoyed. She thought it was planned, but now wasn't the time to worry about it. She fell in love with the kiss and melted into it. [Y/N] closed her eyes and cherished the moment she had with him. Her eyes closed, but she could still feel the colours spreading. The vibrancy, the contrast, the shades, the tones. She was all too happy that she didn't care if it was a dream.

And indeed, it was.
