Ayato POV
"I'm very sorry for the inconsistencies I've caused." Levin said in front of all of us, bowing his head low.
This morning, after coming out of his room, he immediately told everyone in Re to gather. Just to do this?
Kaneki blinked in surprise, scratching his head. "Um... okay? Apology accepted?" He said, confused.
Levin kept his head down. "You aren't angry?" He sounded worried.
"At what?"
"I..." it sounded like Levin wanted to say more, but his tongue catched and he ended up trailing off. But with this type of attitude... it seems that he's back to normal. Or whatever Levin's "normal" tone is.
He finally lifted his head, and I notice that his eyes still have this red tint to them. Was he crying? Touka pushed past most of us and shoved a mop into Levin's hands.
"If you want to make up for it, then start getting to work. We're opening soon." She said, turning back and heading to the front to turn the sign to "open".
Levin stands there for a moment, then stares down at the mop in his hands. As everyone dispersed, I walked up to him. "So that's it? Done with the Aogiri raids?" I asked.
Levin noticed me and grinned. "Not really. I mean, we put things in motion. Eto won't be able to ignore what we've done, so now we wait for her move." He said.
So we're on the defensive now huh? I take my hands out of my pockets and slap him on the back. "Good to have you back, though I did like you better when you were a savage to your enemies." I said. Is he even back to the original sense of mind I met him at? That naive mind set will get him killed.
Levin smirked. "Oh don't worry about that. Anyone that is a threat to my home will have no mercy from me." He said.
At this my grin grows. "I think I like this you even more than the rest." I said, before we first bumped and walked to the cafe, starting to mop.
Getting an idea on how Levin works... he's back to being the friendly, smiling, naive person he was before, but he still has the tendencies to flip a switch in the time of need. At least that's what I hope he's like, if that's the case, then he'll be ready for Eto.
And after... what happens after Aogiri Tree? That organization named "V"? Do we stand a chance against them? Does Levin think he can see this to the end? So much uncertainty.
But I suppose I can join the band wagon and be a little naive myself.
After the first shift, I head to my break. But as I'm heading through the halls, I stop at seeing Kaneki looking over at my sister, who is cleaning some cups. He starts to walk over to her, but I quickly step in.
I step next to my sister with a smile, pretending I don't see Kaneki. "Sis, you need help?" I asked.
She smiled at this and nodded. "Thanks, my hands were getting sore. You'd think I'd get used to this." She said.
We make small talk as Kaneki slowly sinks away, retreating after me appearing. It did help that I gave him a quick glare before he departed.
He's not getting even a little more closer to my sister. He's trouble, and I don't him near her. Plus, he should think on who her brother is, the guy he...
Snap, crunch
Half of my fucking bones. That psycho broke half of my God Damn bones, while naming them off. It was the most horrifying biology lesson I ever went through.
And if he gets tries anything with my sister, then he better expect for me to return the favor.
Urie POV
I was heading for the file room after getting word I had permission to finally have the Crows profile. I had put in a request for it two months ago after the Tsukiyama Raid, and now I was finally getting them.
Beside me is Mutsuki, she wanted to come with me; it seemed she had nothing to do today. We stop in front of the file room, and Mutsuki speaks up.
"What are you wanting to find out about him? The Crow, I mean." She said, making me freeze at the door.
I take a side glance at her blank expression. "Just curious is all."
I said this as I pushed through the door and Mutsuki waited outside. I walked through the shelves to a desk where a woman was looking at her computer. She looked up and smiled at me.
"How can I help you today?" She asked.
"I put in an order for a file search." I said, and before she could ask my name, I pulled out my rank title ribbon for proof. "Rank 1 investigator Urie Kuki."
"Ah, your in charge of the 10th ward, aren't you?" She asked out of conversation.
"Yes. I was put there recently." I exclaimed.
She didn't seem surprised by my title, just giving me a small nod and turning around in her chair, going through some files. She plucked one out of a folder and turned back around, placing it on the desk.
She then handed me a piece of paper and a pen. "I need you to sign this, please." She said with a smile.
I give a short nod and quickly put my signature down, and scoop up the file. It was a pretty easy procedure, I had done some fetching for Sasaki when he was in charge of the Quinx.
Saying my thanks, I walk out of the file room and back down the hall with Mutsuki. She gives me quick glances at me and the file in my hands. She's still unsure on what I'm doing.
As we get to my office, I stop her. "You can go home for today, Mutsuki. I want to be undisturbed when I'm reading this." I said, looking down at the file.
Mutsuki just gives a quick nod and walks away, good thing she can take my orders. I head into my office and sit down, immediately opening the document.
The first page is basic stuff on when he was held in Cochlea. I had heard he was held here but escaped because of a mole.
His picture looked nothing like he does now. From what I saw when he helped me escape Aogiri, is that he looks much more mature than he used to, and his hair was a darker shade of blue, almost black.
In the picture in the document, he looks like he's still fifteen or so. How long was he held for? I begin scanning the file and I come to the statistics of him.
Name : Levin Seto
Rank: SS
Alias: Crow
Age: 20 (currently)
Affiliations: Cochlea (escaped), Aogiri Tree (formerly), Nest (Currently)
. . .
It goes on and on...
I sigh and see that I'm not getting anywhere. I quickly flip the page, and get to the descriptions of his time in Cochlea. As I read, I get more and more disturbed.
To think that there are people like that in the CCG. And I know Kijima, he was in a meeting I went to a month ago. So that messed up face is because of Crow?
I can't say he didn't deserve it. The Crow might not be human, but he didn't deserve that type of treatment as a child. More than half of his life... in containment.
After I'm done reading with the recent developments of his file, I stop and feel as if something is off. I go back to where it mentions the capture of him, near the beginning.
It says that they got an anonymous tip... but the real question is... he was captured in the United States....
The CCG works in Japan.
Why would they go through all that trouble on a tip, just to try and capture a kid ghoul? Was it because the tip suggest that the child was different?
And also, it mentions the mother being killed, a human. But not the father. There is mention of him, but not much after the Crow being captured.
I rub my chin, and start to make some notes on a notepad. I then go to more recent events.
I dig more and soon I order the files of Scorpion, and the twins that work in Nest also... maybe Binge Eater? After going to the file room again and getting all their files, I begin to read.
Right now, one of the twins is mentioned to be still out there, but the other is... gone? The girl known as Kurona Yasuhisa.
Her file is wiped clean. Literally nothing on her except that she was in Nest and that she was involved in the Auction raid and the festival disaster.
Nothing after that. As I look on the other files she's gone from them too. I run my hands through my hair and let out a large breath. By now there's papers scattered all over the place.
"What now? People don't just disappear..." I trailed off as I glanced at the girls file. Something catches my eye.
The only thing on her statistics that strikes me as weird, is that it says she has a handler. Handlers are only given to ghouls in...
I read the name: Nimura Furuta
I slowly stand. The file doesn't say she's in Cochlea... why does it say Furuta is watching her? Is this a error in the file? It could be...
I look at the door, suddenly I felt as if I was being watched. The walls have eyes. I thought as I gathered the files and put them in a briefcase.
I was taking this all home, I can't have the chance of someone raiding my office while I'm away. Before I became leader of the Quinx, I usually would've let this go to keep my position... but...
I want the truth.
(Ayato keeping Kaneki away from Touka, and Urie starts to dig into a slight error, that might lead to him knowing the truth!? Things are going to heat up! Nonetheless I hope you enjoyed and have a wonderful day!) - MnMs171
