Backstory:
Kiri's family was killed by William the Bloody, aka Spike, when she was 7 years old. Feeling obligated, Angel, Spike's sire, took her in and raised her until she was 10. Kiri doesn't know that her family was killed by a vampire. She saw Spike as a vampire, but thinks that part is a dream/nightmare. When she was 10, she was adopted by the Emersons', although Angel still keeps an eye on her and visits her. Kiri grew up with Michael, who was around her age and who she grew very close to, and eventually Sammy, who she was extremely protective of. The father figure, on the other hand, hated her. He said that she was a freak and was the reason that her family died. His verbal abuse made Kiri reclusive and introverted. So, when he up and left them, Kiri celebrated just a little inside her head. (Who can blame her?) She is actually looking forward to the move to Santa Carla.
