*SHORT, I KNOW, BUT I HAD TO GET SOMETHING POSTED. ENJOY. AMAZING BANNER BY Loki_is_adopted*

Natasha Romanof’s a.k.a. Black Widow’s P.O.V.

My breath hitched, my palms beginning to sweat, my mind racing, my mouth set in a puzzled frown.

Steve was stone still, stiffening in his chair as he stared past Loki’s smirking form.

“Hey! How are you guys? I’m trusting Loki didn’t give you any trouble...?”

Steve Roger’s a.k.a. Captain America’s P.O.V.

This... this was madness.

What more could the world possibly throw at us?! At me!?

I stared unabashedly, mouth hanging open. But... How?

The eyes, the hair, the build were all so familiar...

But I’d only gotten a description by word of mouth.

This could be Roland, but I wouldn’t be sure until I gained function of my vocal chords again. With a friendly smile, he limped over to the table, visibly flinching when he leaned too heavily on his left foot. What...?

Natasha Romanof’s a.k.a. Black Widow’s P.O.V.

“His back,” I thought, noticing the boys limp. Calypso had told me about his...incident. But, they way she’d spoken about him, it sounded as if she’d thought him to be dead but here he was. Standing in a small cabin kitchen with a master assassin, a super soldier and a norse god. Talk about the beginnings of a bad joke...

“Roland?” I inquired, as soon as he’d stopped to rest against the wooden table.

“That’s my name,” he said, poking a finger at his chest. His clothes, eerily similar to Calypso’s, were fairly clean, probably freshly washed.

“How...why?” I stuttered out, my legs getting ready to collapse. What did this mean?

Rolands smile dropped instantly, a horribly deep frown taking it’s place.

“I...my back healed. It just took a while,” he muttered, eyes downcast.

“Where’s Calypso? Have you seen her?” Steve suddenly interjected, shooting into a standing position. He looked frantic, desperate even.

“No, I haven’t seen her,” Roland sighed, running a hand down his face.

“But...Loki? You..? He said– !”

“I said I haven’t done anything with her, you bumbling fool. If I’ve done nothing with her, how would I know her whereabouts?” Loki spat.

Steve snarled, face flushing, looking about ready to strange the god again.

Stop!” Roland barked, and both older men halted as the candles flares and the wind howled significantly louder than before.

“She said they took your bending...–” I began, only to be cut off.

“Temporarily. It wore off,” he responded, sagging downward.

“Are you alright?” I asked, stepping forward to help him. He waved me off, taking deep, steadying breaths.

“I”m fine. Just takes more out of me than it used to,” he said, chuckling without a hint of humor, “I sound like an old man.” He brushed his mahogany hair off his forehead, where it matted slightly due to his sudden perspiration.

“So...she’s not here?” Steve whispered, all eyes flashing back to him. He looked absolutely devastated, eyes brimming with tears.

“Something led us here,” I hissed, jabbing a finger at Roland, “and I want to know the why’s and the how’s right now.”

“I didn’t call you here...” Roland said, eyes widening.

His hazel eyes flashed to Loki who looked smug.

“What are you all looking at me for?” he chuckled, the smile on his face downright malicious.

“What did you do?” I demanded, stalking toward him.

With a chortle he stood, towering over me, his armor glinting in the low light. The darkness crawled towards him from the corners of the room, dragging itself up the walls and across the ceiling to dangle above our heads like bats.

Horrified I stumbled backwards, eyes never leaving his.

“Oh, I just did what I do best.”

Then the ceiling caved in.
