We dialed slowly.
He picked up, and Jan and I put him on speaker.
“Hey baby! What’s up? How was your day?”
“Drewy, there’s something I need to tell you..”
I could hear him playing his flute in the background.
Such a band nerd <3
But as I said those words...he suddenly stopped.
“What is it?”
I ran away from the phone.
The nerves were starting to set in.
Jan pulled me back into my room.
We sat on my bed.
“Go on Skype. I need to show you something.”
“Ok sweetie, should I be worried?” he said softly.
“yes.” And I hung up.
We had skyped before, he would turn his video on but I would always make an excuse why I couldent
This time though, all guards were down.
We started the call, he had his video on..and then I turned on mine
And he smiled
“Where’s Sarah?”
He looked confused but didn’t get it yet.
“It’s me, I have some explaining to do.”
After that..
You should have seen his face.
He recognized my voice so he knew it was me.
But when his smile went away, so did my hope for our love.
He had said all of those wonderful things about loving me,
But none of them were true in reality.
He ended the Skype call.
And we stopped talking
Just like that.
But about a week later, I got a voicemail….
