Trinity

»»»»§««««

The night grows on, and our hope of surviving grows weaker. That was until a glimmer of hope shot out from the most unlikely place.

"I'm not here to fight, I'm here to propose a truce."

"Why should we trust you?"

"It's something that will help all of our efforts, but I found it!"

"Found what?" Lauren asked worried.

"A way out!"

"Oh my god! Trinity, this is it. Our chance of surviving this mess!"

"Maybe..." I said awkwardly.

"I promise you, I'm being honest!" James pleaded.

"Nope, I'm not buying it."

"Look, Trinity. I get it, you have your reasons, but I have mine too. We need for this to be true. For me, for you."

"Fine. I think we should trust him, because I'm trusting you.

"Thank you, Trinity. I truly think he can get us out of here."

"Whatever."

"Okay, James. Lead the way." Lauren said beginning to follow him.

'I really hope we don't regret this...'

We walked back out into a hall full of pillars and he whispered "C'mon. It's this way."

"I don't see why you don't trust him." Lauren said bluntly.

"Really, Lauren? He is one of the main guys who did all of that insane man's dirty work!"

"His name is Darius Blackwell. And I'm being legitimate, I think James has been hurt by Darius too. I think he just wants to help."

"I don't know, my instincts are telling me not to get attached."

"Alright, girls. Is this going to take you two all day? You've been standing there for almost 3 minutes now."

"We are coming. Come on, Trinity. We'll be fine."

"I hope your right." I said and we hurried after James.

"Ah, you always were predictable, James." Darius's voice said and we all jumped in shock.

"Shit, how long have you two been on to us?" Lauren blurted glancing from Darius to the monster.

"Oh, Lauren. You never left my sight."

"Well, now you got us. What are you going to do this time?" I said boldly.

"Can. Kill. Them?" The monster croaked.

Blackwell turned towards the monster "Soon, I promise."

'This is my shot, while he isn't looking!'

I charged at him and before I could reach him, he quickly turned towards me and shot me.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

"Agh!" I yelled and fell to the ground.

"Trinity!" Lauren cried.

"Anyone else wish to try me?" Darius smirked.

"Soon."

"Haha. You can get up now, Trinity. I even made sure that this gun only fired bullets made of wood, but I purposely missed your heart. My little blood sucker. Next time, you won't be so lucky."

I stood up and yelled "Next time, you'll be dead."

"I don't even understand why you're doing this. It's just simply wrong-" James began.

"I don't care about your reasons for leaving, James. I just want to let you know that your actions have consequences. Now, my pet, which one would you like to kill first?" Darius smiled.

"Wait, before you kill us, please tell us what you did to Jeremy." Lauren asked worried.

"Oh, him. Well, there is only one way that you can kill a Child of Frankenstein. With fire. I burnt him until he was just a pile of ash."

"You... You monster! Your such a bastard! I can't believe you killed my boyfriend, you jackass!" Lauren screamed. "I'm going to kill you!"

"Make him suffer, Lauren. Just like Jeremy."

"Oh I will!" Lauren said angrily and began walking towards him.

"Back-back away!" Darius trembled. "I'll shoot!"

"Go ahead, let's see who's faster." Lauren smirked.

"Kill her!"

"Yes. Kill." The monster began charging towards Lauren.

"My pleasure." I smiled and began charging towards it.

Right before I hit the monster, a loud explosion bursted from the wall and the room went pitch black.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

"Agh!" Lauren yelled.

"WWWRRRROOAAARRRRR!"

"Trinity? Where are you?" Lauren called out.

"C'mon, Lauren. Grab my hand." My voice said softly.

"Ow!" Lauren yelped.

"Watch yourself, Lauren. I think we're..." The lights came on and we were standing outside of the bookcase door. "Out."

"How did we-"

"I got us here."

"How did you find tour way here?"

"One of the perks of being a vampire, I have excellent night vision. I heard it open and I got us out here."

"But you had him, Trinity. You could of killed him. Why didn't you kill him?"

"Because I want him to suffer. I want him to know and see who kills him. He will be in way more pain than any of us have ever been in. He will plead and beg for us to kill him."

"Normally, this kind of talk would of scared me, but this time, I like it. I have an idea." Lauren said and closed the bookcase door. "Let's give him a taste of his own medicine. With that nasty-looking monster. All alone in the dark."

"That bought us some time."

"What now?" Lauren asked walking back up towards me.

"We should look for Jeremy's body. He helped us survive this long, I feel like we owe it to him."

"He deserves to have a peaceful resting place." Lauren teared up.

"I know." I said softly.

We reentered the main room where we found the scorch marks and began searching all over.

"Lauren, did you find anything yet?"

"No. This isn't making sense, this was the last place he was at. You don't think Blackwell moved him, do you?"

"I honestly have no idea." I frowned. "Blackwell always has a twisted plan in his head."

"I just can't imagine what he might do with his body!"

"He might try to rebuild him. He did say he was a Child of Frankenstein."

"If it means seeing him again, I'd honestly love that. I wonder if he'll ever be rebuilt." Lauren sighed.

"Isn't that the topic of the night." James said smiling at us from across the room.

"Damn, you made it out?" I said surprised.

"Yes, and no thanks to you two."

"I'm sorry, it was dark. I just grabbed Lauren and bolted."

"It's fine. I told you I had a way out."

"Did... they get out too?" Lauren asked cautiously.

"No, they're still out there. And while they are, I have to show you something." James said walking off.

We followed him through a few small rooms until we arrived in a room full of portraits of various people and a lab table with a burnt body on it.

"Jeremy!" Lauren screamed. "He is still alive!"

Jeremy's body was still intact, except for a few burns here and there. Also, the ash from when he was being scorched. He was breathing heavily and was unconscious.

"He isn't doing well, I'm afraid."

"I need to see him." Lauren said starting to head over to him.

"Wait, Lauren!"

"You're right. We need to decide who should see him. It's your choice, Trinity."

"It should be you. You two were in love and if he is to talk to anyone for the last time, it should be you."

"Thanks, Trinity." Lauren smiled.

"Just tell him thanks, for everything."

"I will." Lauren walked over to Jeremy.

"You made the right choice, he won't last much longer." James sighed.

"Don't talk to me." I snapped.

"I guess that makes enough sense."

"Oh my god, Jeremy! What did he do to you?" Lauren cried.

"L-Lauren?" He said hoarsely.

"I'm here, Jeremy. How did you get here?"

"He told me what I am. I'm made of electricity. I- I used it to transport myself here. So that you wouldn't have to see me like this."

"I'm glad I found you. We confronted him and his little monster. He had us, you are the reason we escaped. You put the lights out."

"I'm glad.. I could help... One.. Last time...." Jeremy's voice faded and he was gone.

"Jeremy? Jeremy!" Lauren cried.

"Is everything alright, Lauren?" I asked to see her standing up with tears on her face.

"He's dead."

"I'm sorry-"

"No, no more being sorry for this bullshit. I'm done."

"I want to agree. It's like my body is just ready to give up, I'm close to agreeing, but I can't."

"I plan on getting out of here." James said bluntly.

"You guys just don't get it. I lost Austin, Karen, Jeremy... I'm done with it."

"What are you trying to say, Lauren?" I asked concerned.

"This isn't about survival anymore. From here on out, this is about revenge!"
