On with the story...

Hawaii.
Nice and warm. Not too rainy like it was in Paris. Ugh. That was horrible. We've been here for two days, and it's really pretty. I'm not gonna want to leave.
We have an ocean-side house that looks like a hut. The beach sand is so clean and a pretty shade of white. The water is crystal-clear and teeming with ocean-life. Brightly colored blue, green, and yellow fish swim near the shore, and Zephyr never fails to impress me by catching them with his bare hands and then setting them free.
"Can we have a campfire tonight?" I asked him while we were just laying on the beach. I know we shouldn't be this relaxed, but you can't help it when you're lying on the most beautiful beach that you've ever seen.
"It's supposed to rain tonight," he told me.
I groaned. "I thought it wasn't going to while we're here."
"Did you seriously think we wouldn't get any rain while we're in Hawaii, when our house is literally 20 feet from the ocean?"
"Well, I thought we'd get a little," I grumbled.
"Okay, then don't complain."
Sighing, I got up and walked out into the warm ocean water. I tied up my long, brown hair before I went into the water any deeper. I could feel Zephyr's eyes on my back as I treaded out into the water even further, up to my shoulders.
I turned around to face the beach. "You should come out here. The water's awesome," I shouted to him, even though I'm pretty sure I didn't need to.
"I'll be there in a sec," he told me.
I turned around and waited patiently for him, but only for a second, because I guess he literally meant it.
"It's so pretty," I told him, looking at the ocean floor. I saw a clam that was half-open and picked it up with my toes. I peered in through the open part and saw a tiny pearl forming. I smiled. That's really cool. I've never found a real pearl before.
I dropped it back into the water and watched it sink down to the bottom before turning to Zephyr. I wanted to talk to him about something important.
"Zephyr?" I asked him.
"Yeah?"
"I've made up my mind."
He seemed confused for a second, then it clicked in his brain.
He realized that I wanted to become a vampire.
"Are you sure?" he asked me seriously.
"Yeah," I told him. "But I don't know when. Not now, obviously."
"It'd have to be soon, because I've been able to figure out the Council's next moves, and they're going to be coming here, but I have no idea when. But I do know it'll be hard to evade them."
"So, basically, I need to become a vampire before they're here or I'm toast?"
"Yeah, pretty much."
"Why don't we just leave if you know they're gonna be coming here relatively soon?"
"Because I need to have a word with them, and I'd like to be able to train you to fight before they get here. I know they're going to take me away, and that I'll be able to live with, but with you, they're going to be taking you as well. You need to know how to be able to fight them."
"Why do we have to do that, Zephyr? Why can't we just flee this area after you turn me into a vampire and have me train over the course of a month or two?" I don't want to fight the Council. I just want to be turned into a vampire and end all of this.
That's the only reason why I'm letting him turn me. Hopefully everyone will be safe after that and we'll just forget this ever happened.
Zehpyr's been able to prove to me that he's trying to keep me safe and that he loves me, but when he proposed the idea of waiting here for the Council and letting them take both of us away, my doubts grew huge.
I also could've sworn he'd be opposed to the idea of turning me into a vampire, but, hell, I didn't know how he'd react when I told him that he could.
"We're gonna have to face them sooner or later," he snapped.
I cringed away from his words and shot back with, "Well, putting yourself into the situation without having a clue of what's gonna happen, when they'll be here, or if we'll live or not, is a horrible idea!"
"They're gonna outsmart us, Jenny. We're going to lose. Whether you think so or not. We. Will. Lose. The Council always wins."
"There's a first for everything," I told him, my voice becoming softer.
"Well, we're not going to be the one's to prove it," having said that, he walked away from me out of the water and up the beach to the house.
Sighing, I followed him. The sky was looking dark and I knew it'd be pouring soon.
I swam up to the shore and grabbed mine and Zephyr's towel. He'd forgotten it on his way up to the house.
I could tell that he was mad at me for not agreeing with him, but really? It's a stupid reason to be mad at someone about.
Besides, he won't be mad for long. I could walk right through that door and kiss him and he'd be happy again. That's just how it works. Whenever he's mad at me, I kiss him and his mood becomes better.
I walked up to the house and went through the front door. I set the towels on the dryer in the utility room and went out and sat next to Zephyr on the couch. He scooched away from me and I moved closer to him. We did this until he reached the end of the couch.
He got up and started to walk away.
"Wait," I told him, standing up and grabbing his wrist.
He turned around to look at me, his eyebrow raised. "What?"
"I wanna make it up to you."
"It's gonna take a little more than a tiny peck on the lips," he told me. I could see the slightest hint of a smirk starting to form.
I glared at him a little bit, but sighed in defeat. I don't like it when he's mad at me, and he knows that. "Alright," I told him.
He leaned his head down to mine and kissed me full on the lips. I instantly felt his tongue against my lips, asking for entrance, which I didn't allow. I could tell he didn't like this, but it didn't matter. He couldn't bra-snap me this time because my swimsuit top isn't like a bra.
He did untie it though. I gasped when he did, and twisted my arms around to retie my swimsuit.
I felt him smirk when his tongue was in my mouth. He retied my swimsuit for me, and I could tell he was internally grinning.
I internally let out a sigh of relief. He doesn't wanna do... that. If he had wanted to, he wouldn't have retied my swimsuit, right?
Wrong.
He laid me down on the couch with him on top of me, his hands roaming all over my body. I could feel him getting bigger through his swim trunks.
I knew he wanted it, but I knew I wasn't gonna give it to him. Not now, with everything else that's going on.
What if the Council decided to show up while we were? One, that'd be embarrassing, and two, we'd be totally caught off guard and then we'd get taken away.
Not a good idea.
I pulled away from him. "Not now, not tonight," I told him.
"Why? It's just as good as any other night," he replied.
"The Council are after us and you said you don't know when they'll be here. They could show up and take us away and we'd be totally unprepared."
He sighed because he knew I was right. "Fine, but when this is all over with, we're gonna have a fun night dedicated to just us."
I chuckled at his choice of words. "Alright, what ever you want."
He smirked. "Anything?"
"Anything," I said, knowing I'm gonna regret it when our "fun night" comes.
"Now that I know how it's gonna be when this is over and I have something to look forward to, we're gonna get some sleep, okay?"
I was definitely okay with this arrangement. "Can I sleep in your room tonight?" I asked him. I didn't wanna be by myself after what he told me earlier about the Council.
"Sure," he told me.
I didn't even bother with changing, it was hot outside and there was no airconditioner in this house, but Zephyr was incredibly cold all the time, so I should be okay.
We laid down in his bed, his cool arms wrapped around me in a protective way like they were when we were in Paris, and we fell asleep.
It was nice being able to go to bed, knowing I won't die of a heatstroke, but doesn't mean I won't die of something else that could happen tonight.
Not knowing when the Council is coming, is, well, bad.
And we'll probably be caught off guard while we're sleeping or just being lazy.
I'm not looking forward to when that happens, because, according to Zephyr, the Council always wins...

Alright, that was chapter 18!
I hope you guys liked it. I had fun writing this chapter, especially the part when they were out in the water. I liked describing how I thought the ocean was like out by Hawaii.
I think updates will be coming more frequently, because I noticed when I did my weekly update schedule with this story, I got kicked off of the "vampire" list for stories within a couple of days, and I'd like to stay on that list.
So, count on updates every two, three, four, or five days.
I know that's a big range, but oh well :)
