Chapter 17: Never Forget You

A/N: Please listen to the song at the end of the chapter, please! It's a song that I've dedicated to Emma and Dean :)

***

"So," I say after a few minutes of silence. "What's the news?"

Castiel awkwardly stands there as Sam, Dean, and I sit at the kitchen table. "When Dean told me about Chester I thought I would look into who he is. He is a vampire, as you already know. I was able to look into some history about him overnight and he has a strong habit of making humans make deals with him. He once saved your mother life many years before you were born and she agreed a life for a life. I guess your mother never thought that by him saving her life would mean he would want to take you."

"But that makes no sense," I say. "I mean, it makes sense as to why he's been after my mom and me, but why does he want me so bad?"

"You are a Winchester," Cas says. "If he is able to turn one of you into a vampire, it would be his greatest creation and he would become very popular. Perhaps that is why. Though, I do recall something about using you against Dean."

Dean shakes his head. "What the hell does he want to get me back for? I've never even met the son of a bitch."

"That is a very good question, Dean. One that I do not have an answer for," Castiel says. "I am sorry. I will keep searching, though."

"That won't be necessary," a voice says and I feel the hair on the back of my neck stand up. The owner of the voice enters the kitchen, a coy smile on his face. "Hello, Emma. It's very good to see you again."

I swallow hard. "How the hell did you get in here?" Dean says, standing up while pointing a gun at the vamp.

Chester puts his hands up. "Hey, now. I'm here on good terms, Winchester. If you wanted to know why I want Emma so bad, you could have just asked me."

"What do you want with me?" I snap.

Chester's smile turns sinister and I feel a shiver down my spine. "The angel here isn't wrong. It would nice to have a Winchester as a vampire. It would be quite interesting, don't you think? And I have nothing against you, Dean. It's the mom I have problems with."

"What did my mom ever do to you?" I ask, standing up.

Chester laughs. "She promised me something, my dear," he says. "After I saved her life, she promised me everything. You see, I was young then. She promised me her life, her love. And then the Winchester's came into town and ruined it all. She betrayed me and decided to slut it up with the handsome Dean." His eyes grow dark as he recalls the memory. "She forgot about me. And it wasn't until nine months later did I find out she was to be a mother. How she was able to keep it from me for so long, I'll never know."

"You fell in love with a human?" Sam asks bewilderment in his eyes.

Chester laughs. "I was never in love with her, Sammy. I just needed some more prodigies of my own. She was never supposed to have children. She was supposed to join me. She promised me she would and she broke that vow. When I found out about Emma, I figured the blasted woman would try to find the father of her darling baby. But I was wrong. The woman really sent me on a wild goose chase, but then I was finally able to catch up with her. But the bitch had a plan. And you, Emma, got away. Again."

"You're the reason why my mom is dead," I say, the words tasting like poison on my tongue. "Why, after all these years, hunt for me?"

Chester smiled. "That's my little secret, love."

"Get out," Dean says. "Now. Before I blow your face off."

Chester waggles a finger at Dean. "I'm afraid I can't do that. Emma is mine and I've come to collect." Before I know what is happening, my vision goes black from a blow to the face. I hear a gunshot and many curses. I feel myself hit the floor and then I know nothing for a time.

***

I wake up shivering. I lay on a metal table, my arms and legs strapped down. I struggle against the restraints, but their grip on me is too tight. "Dammit," I say.

The room I'm in is dark and I can barely make out a table off to the side. "Hello, love," a voice says.

Chester emerges from the shadows. His eyes seem to glow in the dark. He pushes his black hair back with his hand. He wears black robes and black clothes underneath. "So nice of you to wake up."

"Let me go, you sick bastard," I spit.

"Emma?" I hear call from the shadows.

"Sammy?" I call out. "Is that you?"

"I'm here," is all I get. Chester rolls his eyes and walks into the shadows. I hear a loud grunt and Chester comes back, blood now covering his hand.

"That was very rude of you, Sammy," Chester says.

"Where's Dean?" I ask, my heart speeding up.

"I put him in a different room. Wouldn't want him to watch his little girl be tortured. That would just be cruel," he says.

Chester walks over to the table and picks up a knife. "This might hurt a little," he says, a wicked smile on his lips. He then proceeds to pierce my skin, branding the knife around my entire body. I scream.

"Emma!" Sam calls out.

Chester rolls his eyes. "Oh, hush. You're distracting me." I hear a huff, but Chester continues to cut into me. After about an hour, my throat is raw from screaming, my face is wet with tears, and my body is sticky with blood."

"I'm bored," Chester stops and walks out of the room. A moment later, he brings in Dean. When my father sees me, his eyes go wide and he tries getting out of the vampire's grip, but the bastard was too strong. "This should make things more interesting."

He ties Dean up to a chair and then comes back over to me. He picks up a bottle and starts pouring the substance into my open wounds. At first, I feel nothing, but then a burning sensation starts to spread through my body and I begin screaming again. I hear Dean call out, but I can't hear him through my screaming.

"Stop!" Dean says. "Please! Stop hurting her! Hurt me instead!" I hear Dean call out. My vision is going black and I find it hard to breathe.

I watch as Chester walks over to Dean. "Are you saying you're willing to take her place, Winchester?"

"Yes, you son of a bitch," Dean says, a look of pure anger in his eyes.

"Hm," Chester says. "What do you think, Sammy?"

"Go to Hell!" Sam calls from the shadows.

Chester grimaces. "I'd rather not." He then pulls out a knife sticks it into Dean's heart and I scream.

"Dad!"

"Dean!" Sam and I call out at the same time.

"Please!" I beg. "I'll do anything! Just, please! Don't hurt him!"

Chester pulls out the knife and walks over to me, a smirk on his lips. "Oh really? I like that."

"Emma," Dean says, blood pooling out of his shirt. "No."

"I'm sorry, Dean," I say, tears pouring down my face. "What do you want?"

"You'll see," Chester says. "How about you say goodbye?"

He lets me up but keeps a tight grip on my shoulders. "Make it fast."

I used to be so happy
But without you here I feel so low

"Dad?" I say, kneeling down.

I watched you as you left but I can never seem to let you go
'Cause once upon a time you were my everything

"Emma," he says, his breathing coming out in heavy bursts. "Don't do this."

It's clear to see that time hasn't changed a thing
It's buried deep inside me but I feel there's something you should know

I feel my throat close up. "I have to, Dean. I am so sorry."

I'll never forget you
You'll always be by my side

"I'll get you back," he promises.

From the day that I met you
I knew that I would love you 'till the day I die

"I love you, Dad," I say and hug him.

And I will never want much more
And in my heart I will always be sure

"I love you, too, Emma. I'll see you soon kid. Okay?" I nod and stand up and face Chester.

He smiles and pushes me away from my dad, from my uncle. I look back once, my heart breaking with each step. "See you soon, Dad," I whisper and then walk off into the night, Chester's hand never leaving my arm.

I will never forget you
And you will always be by my side 'till the day I die
