Chapter 9
My body was frozen as I felt the rogue pin me against the base of a tree. "What's your name princess?" His voice was rough and his breath smelt like rotting onions. The rouge's eyes were as dark as coal, I could see the intensity that they held.
I wasn't going to back down, something was tugging in my mind telling me to stand up for myself. I gripped his torn shirt, and pushed him off forcefully. This took him off guard and my heart thumped in my chest. Where had that bravery come from?
'Aww damn Kayla now you have done it!' I thought to myself as I slowly backed away from the rogue. His teeth were bared and he snarled sharply, "You thing I'm kidding with you?" His voice was dark and dripping with venom. I felt my eyes go wide, goosebumps stood up on my neck and I heard my shallow breath in my ears. The forest around us was silent as if waiting for the rouge to make the next move.
I had to bite my tongue so that I wouldn't scream, my stomach churned and I felt queasy. I pressed my lips in a tight line. I closed my eyes ready to be killed by the rouge, there was nothing more to it. No Prince Charming to come sweep me out of here, that was the reality.
"Please just make it quick." I swallowed hard waiting for his reply, my body trembled with fear as the words left my mouth. "That's where you're wrong princess." The rouge hissed into my ear, which made shivers sprawl over my skin.
