We all talked for a while before we all went to bed. Drew and Mara showed me to my room. It was at the end of a very spacious hall with five rooms on each side.
My room was opposite Fabian's room and right next to Mara's. It had its own bathroom and a huge closet. It was really nice, the whole apartment was nice. It was something out of The sound of music but a little smaller.
I did my usual pre-bedtime things. I got into my pj's then into my bed. My phone on my bedside, as always.
Lights...Out.
Mi Dios! necesito tus Ayuda.
My God! I need your help.
And once again, it all began...
It was really dark, no single trace of light anywhere. The moon was out but just a crescent which was not bright. The stars were no where to be found. I tried moving my feet but it wouldn't move. I turned around and there it was....
Ahhh!
"...just a dream Nina, wake up. Nina! Nina!"
I felt someone pull me out of The Unknown Eternity.
I snap out of it and now I'm wide awake. I wipe my tears and sniffle. I look round my bed and see them all. Drew, Mara, Patricia, Amber and Fabian.
"Are you alright?" Fabian who was kneeling near my bed with his hands on my shoulders
I nod and sniffle again.
Mara and Amber sit on the right side of my bed. Patricia on the left with Drew and Fabian.
"Okay, your brother wasn't kidding about the screams" Patricia said with a straight face
I smiled "He'll soon call"
"How...?"
Ring! Ring!
I pick up my phone and put it on speaker. It didn't matter again now that they've experienced it first hand and they sorta know about it. I don't want to keep anything from them.
Well, they don't know about it in details but they're the only ones outside my family and apart from my therapist that knows about it. And to be honest, it feels nice letting people know about it...but I don't want their pity.
"I'm fine" I said after picking the call
"I know you are. I'm just used to waking up by this time and being there for you"
"You know Nick, you can't keep on calling me every night just to comfort me. I have friends now" I looked at everyone standing, and sitting, in my room. "I already feel happy having a normal life, it's amazing. You have other things to worry about now, don't worry about me. I can take care of myself"
"Yea Nick, we'll take care of her" Mara said
I smiled at her
"Am I on speaker?"
"Yea" I giggled
"Is it gonna be like this from now on?"
"Like what?"
"I call you and you put me on speaker?"
"Yea" I sighed "They all know about it now. There's nothing else to hide. They're the first people to know about it apart from you, mum, dad and the therapist. I mean I've not had a girlfriend or any friends for that matter for the past twelve years. Having a few now makes it normal, makes 'me' normal" they all smiled at me.
"I know you have great instincts about people. And from what you've said, I know you trust them"
"We were meant to be twins" I say that every time Nick gets me so well, like he's in my mind or something
"I know" he said with a hint of smile I his voice "I also know that Nina hasn't told you guys about The Unknown Eternity in details"
"No" "Not at all" "Not a single word" Mara, Amber and Patricia said
"I figured cause she hasn't even told me what its about, and I'm her twin. All I know is its a nightmare, obviously, and from the way she screams, its a really creepy one"
"Yea, we've figured that out" Drew said
"And what you haven't figured out yet is that I can't just sit you guys down and tell you in details with a straight face" I interrupted
"We get that Nina, but you have to let someone know about it. You can't just keep us out and suffer in silence. It feels like you're keeping us in the dark" Mara said
"Yea Nina, you have to let someone in. We just want you to share your pain with us" Amber said
"I agree with them Nina" Nick said "We don't want you to feel like you're alone in this, we want to be there for you"
"Okay. I get it now" I said
"Goodnight Nina. I have to work in the morning. I'll talk to you later"
"Okay. Night Nick"
"Goodnight guys"
They all said goodnight to him, then he hung up.
"Speaking of work. I have one in the morning" Drew said "Goodnight"
"Goodnight" we all said
"Now that you get everything we've said, you have to set a date" Fabian said
"You didn't say anything" Patricia said
I smiled
"You get what I mean" he said
"A date for what?"
"A date when you'll tell us about your nightmare in details. And there's no backing out" he explained
"That's actually a good idea" Patricia said
"Yea,a nd once you set a date you have to tell us that day, no excuses accepted" Amber said
"I'm with them" Mara said
I looked at them for a long time
"So?" Fabian said
"How about February 29, 2099?"
"Yea that's good" Patricia said smiling then with a straight face "For when we're all dead in our graves"
They all laughed
"Okay! A week from now" I sighed
"Tuesday!" Amber said
"Remember, no backing out" Mara said
I nodded
"Okay. Goodnight" Mara said and hugged me. So did Amber and Patricia
They left with Fabian still in my room now sitting on the left side of my bed
"You know you'll feel a lot better once you let someone know about it?"
"I know, but I'm scared of seeing the look on your faces after I tell you about it"
"Which is?"
"Pity" I looked at him and looked away "I hate being pitied on. It makes it feel like I'm not actually cared for, like I'm something you have but don't want"
"Hey look at me" when I didn't answer, he put his hand under my chin and turned my face to his "I'm sure you won't see that look from anyone of us. We'll only care for you more after we understand you. And don't ever think you're not needed or wanted, cause you are. Just because we just met you doesn't mean we won't care"
I nodded
"You know" he removed his hand away from my chin "when I saw you at DANNY'S that day, I thought who is this beautiful girl? You seemed so fragile and small trying to get that heavy microwave down"
I smiled remembering that exact moment
"But now, I see a strong, brave, independent young woman who can slay her dragons herself" my smiled faded "You're so much more than what the media says you are"
He looked into my eyes and everything went Spark! All the emotions in me, it felt like I could no longer contain them and they kept on increasing with every second that passed.
I looked away "Thanks. You're not so bad yourself" I smiled at him
He smiled back "Goodnight Nina"
"Goodnight"
He got up and left the room
What next after a night with too many emotions?
An amazing morning.
The smell woke me up. I prepared for school before I went down to see what was cooking or rather who?
The smell was alluring. When I got to the kitchen I saw Fabian cooking whatever in heaven's name he was cooking.
"I didn't know you were a morning person" I said to him
He turned back saw me and smiled.
Mi dios, that smile can melt hearts. I smiled back even though my heart just went scuba diving.
"Same here. Good morning"
"Good morning" I sat down behind the counters "It smells so nice"
"All for you"
"Really?"
"Well for everyone"
"For a moment there I thought I was special" I smiled at his back
He turned back with a straight face "Believe me, you are" my smile went for a walk.
After a few seconds I smiled at him "Well, so are you"
He smiled back "Glad to know" he turned back to whatever he was doing
"Enough of the flirting, more of the cooking" I turned back to see Patricia descending the stairs "I'm starving"
"You always are" Fabian kept on cooking
"I thought I was the only morning person" Drew entered the kitchen
"Morning Drew" Patricia said
"Good morning Drew" I said
"Everyone had a rough night?" He asked
I looked at him with a raised eyebrow, then he smiled
"Funny!" I said
He laughed "Just kidding Nina. I'm off to work"
"Here buddy" Fabian passed him a plate of fried eggs, bacon and a sandwich.
"Thanks Fabes"
"Are you kidding me? It first come, first serve" Patricia said
"Well for me its first going, first serve" Fabian said
"Well I have a class to teach and I got here before anyone and you still haven't served mine"
"Sorry. Two plates coming right up"
