-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Good morning sweetie. I fixed you something to eat. It’s breakfast in bed!” Mom enthused, setting the food in my lap.

I smiled. “What’s this for?”

She shrugged. “I’m making up for not really being there for you. I love you.”

“I love you too.” I replied, staring at her like she was some unknown species.

“Well, go ahead and eat.” She gestured to the food.

Dang, is she really this impatient all the time?

I did as she said and grimaced a little bit. The food had a bitter taste to it, but I ate it anyway. I don’t want to hurt her feelings and plus I’m pretty hungry.

“Did you enjoy it?” She grinned, taking the plate away right as I started coughing.

I felt as if I was going to throw up and I leaned over the bed and started puking. I expected my mom to come to my side and help me out, but she just stood there with a smile on her face. A smile that sent chills down my spine.

“Why, are you alright Andrea?” Her tone was mocking.

“What did you do?” I cried, my voice all raspy.

She put a hand over her heart. “What do you mean sweetie?” She asked innocently, but I saw the evil in her eyes.

She put her hand in her pocket, pulling out a liquid type thing and I just stared at it, my eye widening.

“You poisoned me.” I gasped.

“Ssh.” She put her finger to my lips. “Go to sleep now.”

I woke up to a very bright sun, shining it’s rays through my window. Before I could have time to admire it, my mom came through the door.

“I made breakfast hunny.” She announced.

I followed her to the kitchen and remembered what happened last night.

“Want me to fix you a plate?” She offered.

When I didn’t answer right away, she looked at me for an answer. Well, not just her, but my father and brother too. They were sitting at the table, eating as they watched me.

“Just to think of it, I’m not really feeling good.” I looked at the ground to avoid her eyes.

“What’s wrong?” She stepped closer, but I stepped away.

“I had a late snack this morning, so I’m… full.” I nodded and walked away.

I could feel her questioning gaze on my back, but I tried avoiding it. Truth is, I’m actually pretty hungry. However, why would I eat something that she cooked. What if she really poisoned it or something.

I went to go get my own breakfast at Arby’s. They have the best biscuits. And they don’t poison the food! I decided to stay away from my house. It sounds sad, but I don’t want to be near killers.

So I went to the park and just chilled there. I read a few books and checked my watch that read 3:00. I sighed and went home. I groaned when i saw my parent's cars still there.

Great, my parents are here. Why are they here anyway? Shouldn’t they be out like they usually do.

“Good, you’re home. Your dad, me, and Jake are heading out, so be careful.”

“I’m not going to be here anyway.” I shrugged.

I was about to go up the stairs when she caught my arm.

“Where are you going?”

I suppressed the urge to roll my eyes. “On a date.”

“Really?” She smiled. “What’s his name?”

“His name is Jason.” Like that was any of her business.

She froze. “Jason who?”

I opened my mouth to answer, but my dad walked in with a big bag of stuff. Jake was right behind him.

Mom turned to my dad. “Ben, I think we should stay home.”

“Sweetie, you know that were busy. We’re actually late right now, so we should be on our way.” Dad said.

“Mom, just go. Trust me, he is a sweet guy. He wont let anything happen to me.” I commented.

“Andrea, just tell me his last name.”

“I don’t know his last name.” I lied.

“What guy?” Dad asked.

Jake’s head shot up, interested.

“I’m going on a date. No big deal.”

“With who?” Jake demanded.

“His last name is… Powell. Jason Powell.” I made up.

“Oh.” Mom relaxed. “Good, good. Alright, well have a nice time then! Be careful! Call if you need anything.”

“Sure.” I rolled my eyes.

They started exiting and Jake looked back like he wanted to stay. Just as he left, Kristen rushed in.

“Hey hot stuff!” She laughed, guiding me to my bathroom. “First I want you to take a shower. Then we’ll go from there.”

She started preparing the makeup as I stripped off my clothes. Most girls wouldn’t get naked in front of their friends, but I do. Well, in front of Kristen and sometimes Renee.

I got into the shower and poured some shampoo into my hair.

“Can I talk to you about something?” I asked.

“Of course you can.” She snorted. “What’s up?”

“Remember how I told you about my parents acting weird?”

“Yeah. What about it?”

“Don’t scream or anything, alright?” I added.

“Just tell me.” I could imagine her rolling her eyes.

“They’re killers!” I blurted.

There was a moment of silence until suddenly the curtains were swished open with a quick movement.

“Kristen!” I attempted to cover myself with my hands. “Close the curtains!”

Her horror struck face was priceless. I would’ve laughed if I wasn’t so embarrassed. She ignored me, of course.

“Your parents are killers! What?! How do you know?!”

First, I pulled the curtains back. Then I told her everything. The night that when I saw my parents come in with blood all over them to last night where I had seen my mom’s gun.

When I was finished, she pulled the curtains back again.

“It makes sense now! Why do you think she has you in all these athletic stuff! Your parents want you to be killers with them! They already have your brother sucked into this.”

“I… just cant believe this.” I shook my head.

“Me either! And I’ve spent the night with you! They could’ve killed me!” She gulped.

“I don’t think they want to kill me or my friends," I lied. "Now can I please have my cover back!”

I whipped the curtain back and I heard her messing around with the makeup again.

“I couldn’t even eat my moms breakfast this morning because I was scared she poisoned it or something.”

“I couldn’t handle that. I wonder if my parents know about your parents being killers.”

“Who knows, but you can not tell anyone Kristen! Promise?”

“You know I wont tell anyone. I am trustworthy!”

“I know, I know. It’s just you might blurt it out.”

“Never.”

I got out of the shower and Renee burst in.

“Hey girl! I cant believe you’re going on your first date! This is so exciting!”

I wrapped the towel around me. “I know, right!” I smiled brightly.

For the past few hours, they have got me ready for the date. They put me into a cute little dress. It was blue and black. I realized the blue of the dress matched my eyes. What a coincidence. It was Jason's favorite color. They curled my hair, but didn’t over do it where it looked fake. My makeup was really pretty. How they did my eye makeup made my blue eyes really bright and pretty.

“Look at these adorable heels!” Renee gushed, holding these black heels. They weren’t too high, but not too low. They were perfect.

I put them on and they stepped back to take me in.

“You’re beautiful!” Kristen whispered, tears forming in her eyes. Renee also started getting teary eyed.

“Girls!” I said, going over to them. “Calm down. You act like I died.”

“It’s just… I’m so proud of you!” Kristen hugged me.

Suddenly the door bell rung and Renee screamed. They both started jumping up and down. I started walking towards the stairs when they ran ahead of me.

“Let me get the door!” I called.

“No chance!” Renee laughed, running down the stairs.

“You both sound like a herd of cows!” I teased and they both started laughing.

Kristen opened the door and there stood Jason. He was sexy as usual. His smile was bright and it warmed my heart.

“Jason, I present to you Andrea Thomas!” Kristen greeted, pointing towards me as I descended the stairs. I just rolled my eyes at her stupidity. I looked at Jason as he watched me with his beautiful smile on his face.

“You look stunning.” He complimented when I reached him. He pulled out some flowers and my eyes widened.

“Thank you!” I beamed and he handed them to me. Wow, Tom never done this for me.

“Picture time!” Renee sang.

“But-” I started, but she interrupted me by pulling on my hand.

She started taking pictures of us where he had his arm wrapped around me. She was acting like a mother did when her daughter was going out on her first date.

“Okay, bye guys! First get out of my house.” I said.

They pouted and walked out. I gave Jason an irritated look and locked the door.

“Sorry. They took it out of control.” I sighed as we headed to his car.

He chuckled. “It’s okay. I thought it was pretty fun. Why did they go crazy anyway.”

I blushed, looking away.

“Come on. Tell me.”

“It’s my first date. And they think me and you would make a good couple.”

He smiled. “Well, I happen to agree.”

I laughed as he held the door open for me. The scent of his car smelled like him, which smelled so good.

“So, did you expect me to ask you out?” He asked, starting the car.

“No. Guys don’t really ask me out.” I admitted, staring at my hands.

“Why? You’re so beautiful.”

“You really think so?”

“I don’t lie. Trust me, you’re very beautiful.”

I grinned. “Thank you.”

“I noticed you’re wearing my favorite color.” He said, looking me up and down.

“I realized that when I was looking in the mirror.”

“I’m glad you’re wearing it. Though its going to be hard to keep my hands off of you.”

I laughed. “That’s kind of scary.”

He laughed along with me. “I’m going to be honest, this is my first date too.”

I looked at him, stunned. “You’re lying!”

“Nope.” He smiled.

“You have to be lying. There is just no way.”

“Why?”

“Because you’re so-”

He gave me a questioning look. “What?”

“Good looking.” A giggle escaped me.

“You’re too cute Andrea.”

I looked out the window, so he wouldn’t see my flushing face. “I don’t mean too.”

We finally got to our destination and he opened the door for me.

“Thank you.”

“You’re certainly welcome.”

He led me inside and saw our waiter come towards us. He’s in my gym class and he’s also on the football team.

“Hey Andrea.” He greeted, his eyes wandering down my body and stopping at my breast. You could tell he was trying to look down my cleavage and I squirmed a little.

Jason cleared his throat, looking kind of pissed. “Just show us to our table.”

“Oh, right.” He got out of his trance and I rolled my eyes.

Jason shot him death glares as he led us to our table. We sat from across one of another and the waiter gave us our menus.

“What to drink?” He asked.

“Coke.” I answered.

“Me too.” Jason agreed and the waiter walked away. “It seems that I’m not the only one that wants to put their hands on you.”

I sighed. “Boys will be boys.”

He laughed. “So… Can I ask you something?”

I nodded. “Of course.”

“What happened with that Tom guy?” He asked.

I tensed up and he looked at me with worry.

“You can tell me anything Andrea.”

“We were dating. It was all wonderful, until I caught him cheating on me with some slut. And then-” I stopped there, wondering if I should tell him about the abuse.

“Go ahead.” He urged.

I took a deep breath. “He started abusing me.”

Anger flashed through his face. “He started abusing you?” His voice was louder than it should be.

“Ssh. Please, be quiet. He said if I told anyone, he would kill me and my family.”

He shook his head. “Trust me Andrea. He wont put another hand on you.”

“Don’t tell him I told you.” I squeaked in fear. “Please Jason.”

“I wont, but I wont let him near you.” He suddenly took my hand in his and my face warmed up. Butterflies were in my stomach, and for a minute I thought they would fly out.

He smiled. “I would never do that to you.”

“I know.” I nodded. “Tom is just an asshole.”

“He is.” He agreed. “But what I meant was, I like you a lot. I know we’ve only seen each other only a few times, but there is just something about you. You’re sweet, beautiful, something any guy would love to have.”

I was breathless I couldn’t even speak.

“Wow.” I whispered, not knowing what to say. “No one has ever said that to me before. Especially a guy like you.”

He smirked. “I’m one of a kind.”

“You defiantly are.” I agreed, grinning.

The waiter gave us our drinks and he eyed our hands. Jason looked at him with a hint of irritation.

“Can we help you?” Jason demanded.

He shook his head and walked away.

“He’s a crappy waiter.” Jason complained, taking a sip of his drink.

I laughed. “He is, isn’t he?”

“So tell me about yourself.”

I sighed. “There isn’t really much to tell you. I’m very boring and uninteresting.”

“Whatever.” He snorted. “You’ve gotten my attention, so that makes you very interesting.”

I blushed. “Well, I have two crazy parents. My birthday is on the 4th of July. I fear spiders and feet-”

“Wait, you’re scared of feet?” He tried hard not to laugh.

“Yes. Their gross.” I said, smiling.

“Nice to know.”

“Tell me about you.”

“You know everything about me already.” He pointed out.

“What do you fear most? I asked.

“Getting my heart broken.” He replied, looking embarrassed.

I squeezed his hand. “That is nothing to be embarrassed about. I fear that too.”

“You know that feeling, don’t you?” He said looking at me with apologetic eyes.

“Yeah. It’s really hard to trust guys now after what Tom did. It’s different with you though. I mean, why would you hurt me? You saved me from getting sliced.”

“You’re right. You can trust me.” He nodded.

We got to know each other pretty well for the rest of dinner. He was so easy to get along with. Yeah, he was a little cocky, but it just made him sound and look even sexier.

“What movie do you want to see?” I asked as he drove to the theatre.

He shrugged. “It doesn’t matter with me, you pick.”

I thought for a moment, trying to think of the movie that I had seen on the previews that I wanted to really see.

“How about lost and burned? I’ve seen it on previews and it looks really good.”

“Yeah.” He approved, smiling. “I want to see it too. So you’re into all those action and killing movies?”

“Heck yes.” I answered enthusiastically. “Those are my favorite.”

“Would you ever become a killer?” He asked. “Just out of curiosity.”

I snorted. “No. It’s just wrong to kill someone for the fun of it.”

“I agree. Would you kill someone for a good reason?”

I looked at him strangely. “What are all these questions about?”

He looked like he faked a smile. “I’m a curious guy.”

“Oh.” I said as he pulled into the parking lot.

It wasn’t packed at all, but I guess it wouldn’t be on a school night. He ordered our tickets and we walked into the empty theatre.

“Its weird that its not packed.” I commented, sitting down in the back seats.

“I like it like this. More privacy.” He shot me a handsome smile as he sat beside me.

“True.” I also grinned, looking at the screen. The previews were on and I watched them gratefully. Oh, what we would do without the previews.

Suddenly, I was caught off guard when I felt warm fingers intertwine through mine, causing those butterflies to fly in an eruption.

I hope he couldn’t see my blush through the darkness because my face was so hot, I felt sweat start to build up on my nose.

His hand fit mine perfectly. Just him holding my hand, it made me feel something. With Tom, it was never like that.

I felt his eyes on me, but I just stared straight ahead nervously.

I couldn’t pay attention to the rest of the movie. All I could think about was him and things I shouldn’t do to run him off.

“Andrea? Are you there?” Jason waved his hand in my face. “The movie is over.”

I snapped out of it seeing the lights flicker on. “I’m sorry. I was just thinking about something.”

“Me?” He guessed with his cocky grin and I rolled my eyes.

“Um- no.” I lied, standing up.

He put his hands on my shoulders and put me back into the seat gently. He got on his knees in front of me and leaned over my body to get to my ear.

“You hesitated for a second. It’s not necessary to lie because I was thinking about you too.” He began sending gentle kisses down my neck and I stiffened. I bit my lip to contain my moan that was wanting to escape.

“You shouldn’t do that.” He was looking up at me again.

“Do what?” I breathed.

“Bite your lip. It’s too damn sexy.” He growled, kissing my neck again.

Goosebumps spread through out my body and he chuckled.

“Jason… Um… We need to go… We’ll get in trouble.”

He groaned, pulling away. “I hate how you’re right.”

I shrugged. “I know.”

He took me home, but it was so quiet. I didn’t know what to say after that little incident back at the theatre. Just thinking about it made me shiver. Not in fear, of course, but in pleasure that I’ve never felt before.

I didn’t realize that we had got to my house until his finger traced circles on cheek.

“Can I walk you to your door?” He asked sweetly.

I nodded. “Yes, of course.”

We slowly made our way to my front door and I faced him nervously.

“Thanks for taking me out. I had a fun time.” My voice was a little shaky so I hope he didn’t notice.

He held my face in his hands and I stared into his eyes like a hypnotist's patient.

“May I kiss you Andrea?” He whispered.

“Please.” I answered breathless.

I stopped breathing when his lips connected with mine. His lips were soft and warm. They held mine in an unforgettable way. I thought I was going to die as he was kissing me, but his lips left mine, only to trail his kisses to my neck. I was breathless and I couldn’t think properly with him doing this to me.

“Jason…” I whispered, not really meaning too.

He looked up, our eyes meeting.

“I’ve never felt this before.” Jason admitted. “The intensity and shock-”

I immediately gripped his chin in my hand, bringing his face to mine again. I just couldn’t help myself.

I kissed him with much passion and he definately returned it.

After a long moment, we pulled away, both panting.

“Good night Jason.” I smiled up at him, still out of breath.

“G-Good night.” He stuttered.
