"Ok," I said, about ready to pull out my hair. "He must've gone for Percy, Jason and Frank. But why?"
Annabeth didn't look any less ticked. "I have no idea what goes on in his little brain, and frankly I don't want to."
"Well, now we need to go for them. We can't just sit here and HOPE their ok, right?" I said, standing up.
"Hazel's right," Piper piped up. "We can't just not go."
Annabeth hesitated. "It's not safe. But your right. How will we get there?"
I grinned. I looked at Piper. "Prepare to do some talking. We've got some pegasus's to steal- I mean, 'borrow'."
"Chiron," Piper said pleadingly. "We really need the pegasus! We need to get Percy, Jason, Frank and Leo before they do more trouble!"
"Leo?!" He asked, bewildered. "He went too?"
"Smooth," Annabeth said under her breath.
"Umm, he snuck out looking for the boys, and now we need the pegasus, please?!"
He frowned. "How will the boys get back?"
"Well Percy has Blackjack and Jason has Tempest, and Frank can turn into like a dragon and carry Leo back."
"How did Leo get there in the first place?" He asked, still not budging.
"Umm..." Annabeth was smart. She thought of something that was believable before I could even register the question. "We expect he took one of his inventions like a jet pack or something."
"But you don't know for sure?" The centaur pushed.
"Ugh, no. Because no one was around when he left. He said he needed some fresh air and we never saw him again." Piper said. "But can we use the pegasus?"
"Fine." He sighed.
"Thank you thank you thank you! You will NOT regret this." She exclaimed.
"Is that a challenge?" Chiron countered.
We were already racing to the stables. Piper wrinkled her nose when she walked in. "Do they EVER clean these things?"
"Actually it's a punishment for a low score on cabin sweep thing," Annabeth said as a-matter-of-factedly.
I jumped on a pegasus, I was born to ride. "Are you ladies coming or am I rescuing three boyfriends and a loner myself?"
Piper rolled her eyes and in a very girly style jumped on a pegasus, and just for fun it snorted to scare her. Annabeth jumped on like it was no big deal, but you could tell she preferred riding Blackjack more than any pegasus.
The air was hot and sticky and it was about eleven in the morning. This early and they made the news already. Isn't that just great?
What I don't understand is why Leo decided to go look for them. Was he worried about them? No, the most Leo worries about is when he's out of machine oil. A new thought shook me. What if he isn't even looking for them? What if he left on a totally different reason, not caring about the boys?
I pressed my head against the soft and warm hide on the pegasus's neck.
"Hazel, you okay?" Annabeth asked, examining my face.
"Yeah. Just, thinking." I sighed.
"Look!" Piper said, pointing at some mountains. I didn't even notice we were over land already.
"They must be somewhere around there. Lets land a distance away so we don't freak people out with flying horses. The Mist can't hide everything." I suggested.
Annabeth nodded thoughtfully. "Yes. Good plan, Hazel. How about that little field with that boulder?"
We landed there and a voice that was painfully familiar said, "Well, well, well. Look who we have here."
Octavian.
"What do you want you monster?" Annabeth hissed.
Octavian looked at her left hand. "Oh, oops. Are you looking for your fiance, Annabeth?"
"Actaully, yes, Octavian, I am. While you're still single and according to the news living with your mother I'm gonna have a happy future. Now where are they?"
Ouch. Good comeback Annabeth.
Octavain laughed. "Their dead. You don't think they set off the bombs do you?"
"You mean you did?" Piper looked as if her eyes were about to pop out of her head.
"Of course." He whistled and Reyna flew down to Octavian on Skippy and he was gone.
Annabeth started to go pale. "Their not dead, they can't be. If they died I will kill them. No no no no!"
"Pst," a voice said from across the feild. We looked at the entrance of the cave that Octavian claimed blew up, and poking his head out was Frank. He had some cuts and a bruise on his cheek and his arm was cut pretty deep, but otherwise he was ok.
"FRANK!" I screamed and bounded over to him with Annabeth and Piper not far behind. I tackled him ain a hug. "Oh thank the gods you're ok!"
I pulled away and slapped him.
"Ow!" He yelped. "What the Hades that for?!"
"For sneaking out and scaring all of us to death!"
"Um, if you two are done, where are the others?"
"Oh," Frank nodded into the cave, "their inside. And what the heck is wrong with Percy? He's like being possessed!"
Annabeth went pale and pushed past everybody. We all shared a look then ran in after her, and we were greeted by a horrible sight.
Jason seemed to have a broken ankle and was leaning against a boulder and a few of his fingers were obviously broken on his left hand and he barley moved it.
Percy was unconscious and was in the worst shape of all. The temple on the right side of his head was bleeding pretty bad and his right arm was bent at a funny angle, suggesting that it was broken. He was sickly pale and shaking and he was ice cold.
Annabeth knelt by him and looked at his head. "What happened?" She looked at Jason.
Jason sighed. "Well..."
*FLASHBACK*
"DEMUGODS! MUST DIE!"
That sent the three into panic. Three very ugly Cyclopes (that they thought were trolls from a distance) came and before they could react, they were knocked unconscious.
Frank was the first to wake so he woke the rest of them. Percy took the longest to rouse. When they were all awake they were hanging above some 'lovely' looking spikes.
Jason and Percy talked in hushed tones while Frank took in the surroundings. They were in a dark room with a bonfire type-thing for a little bit of light, but other than that it was nothing. Percy pointed out there was a door, and just as the words left his mouth it swung open and a figure of a boy and a girl stood there. Since all three spent quality time at camp Jupiter, they automatically recognized the figures.
"Why boys, lovely to see you again," Reyna purred.
"Can it Reyna," Percy hissed. He looked unnaturally pale and appeared to be shaking.
"What do you want?" Jason demanded.
"What do you mean?" Octavian played dumb. "It was a coincidence we met you here!"
"Yeah and you 'accidentally' tied us up?" Frank rolled his eyes.
"Yup," Reyna smiled.
"Why did you guys steal our ship AND the fleece? You know the camp will be overrun without it!" Percy looked about ready to pass out, and I wondered if he had a possession coming on.
"Oh, it will? Poor Greeks." Octavian mocked sympathy. "Well, we don't have it and as for your ship, it is somewhere in this cave, ready to be melted down-" Reyna kicked him.
"What does that have to do with us? And we KNOW you took our fleece! We have proof!" Jason insisted.
"Well," they started heading out the door and we noticed something in Octavian's hand, "this is goodbye. Sweet dreams!"
It was a detonator in his hands.
We all looked desperately for where the bombs were, but only had seconds to realize they were tied to the ceiling where the chains were. When Octavian released his hand, Percy went unconscious and all Jason could do as they were falling was to summon winds to blow them away from the spikes. Jason managed to say awake when he fell, but Percy and Frank weren't so lucky. It seemed Percy got the worst of the blow because he got pushed the furthest and slammed on his right side against a wall, while Jason and Frank just landed. Frank woke up and heard voices and it was the girls outside the cave.
*END OF FLASHBACK*
The girls winched at the story.
"Ok, when did Leo find you?" Piper asked.
Jason frowned. "What?"
"Leo. He came looking for you," Annabeth looked as pale as Percy.
"He never got here."
