Hey guys. Before we start, I'd like to say first of all, happy new year! I can't believe 2015 is over! (I've said that every year, don't believe me lol). Also, have y'all seen the new Star Wars movie? Yeah, it ripped my heart out and stomped it into the ground. Thanks for that. Anyway, enjoy this next chapter!

The training lasted for a couple weeks. I never thought I'd be here for very long, but I was wrong. I guessed I would be here for quite a while.
I had learned to use my ability and fight. I also learned that I'm not so bad with a sword. Well, once I learn how to use it, I'm not so bad. The sword I use has a silver blade and a bright red ruby at the end of the handle. I used to be able to see my reflection in the blade, but these couple weeks of using it have worn it down. Of course, I would also be accompanied with a gun.
Alastair had called me in earlier today. He wanted to see me about "something extraordinary." As I walked into his office, I saw that Seren was sitting in one of the chairs in front of the desk.
"Ah! Here he is!" Alastair said, sounding excited. "We have to talk."
"Why is he here?" Seren grumbled.
"You'll see," Alastair turned to me as I sat in the chair beside Seren. "You have clearly been trained excellently. I think it's time for you to have a mission. You will be accompanying Seren on a spy mission."
"What?!" Seren sounded disappointed and surprised at the same time. "You said nothing about a partner!"
"Seren you can't work alone all the time. You've got to have some type of social interaction." Alastair replied calmly.
"Tell me you at least have a ship."
"Oh crap. That's what I forgot."
"You're kidding. You don't have any ships?"
"The spy agency doesn't own any ships. We borrow them from the military. All of the ships are being prepped for the attack on the enemy base." He explained. Seren looked absolutely ticked off.
"Fine, whatever."
"We could cancel-"
"No. I know where I could get a ship." She said as she started walking out.
"Well anyway," Alastair started. "your mission. You will be spying on an enemy base. Just figuring out the perimeters of the base and where all the alarms and booby traps are. Also, try to find their control room of you can. Seren could shut down the main power, cut off their supplies, helping the military have a somewhat easier attack. If you can't find it, it's okay. We'll still have an attack."
"Okay, thanks." I said as I got up.
"One more thing," Alastair leaned forward. "be careful out there."
Oh god, what was I getting myself into?

As I was walking down the hall to my room, I heard voices from around the corner, one I recognized as Seren's. The other one sounded like a machine.
"Are you saying I get to go on your mission this time?"
"Yeah. I need a co-pilot. My partner clearly hasn't been in a ship before." Thanks, Seren.
"Oh my gosh! This is the best day ever!" The robotic voice said as they came around the corner. It did, in fact, belong to a robot.
"Hello!" said the droid.
"Uh, hi?" I replied, confused.
A blue ray came out of the droid's forehead. I jumped back in surprise. "Scanning," it said. "Scan complete. Mason Gray, seventeen years old. Birth date: December 19, 2359. Hair color: Black. Eye color: Brown. Legal guardians: Kailynn Gray and Justin Gray. Home-"
"Hal, don't be a creep." Seren said. I didn't realize she was there.
"What is that?" I asked.
Its face... uh, screen, I don't know, showed that it was hurt. I didn't know droids could have emotions. "THAT? I'll have you know-" It was interrupted by Seren.
"Calm down, Hal! He's a HAL 2300. Old model, but very functional. Don't remind him that he's not human. He hates it."
"I can't hear you," he put his hands to the side of his head. "Lalalalalalalalalala!"
"Really hates it," Seren had to yell over the droid. "Shhhhhhhh! Everyone within 30 feet can hear you!"
The droid stopped and made a sound that must have been a huff. "Call me Hal," he said as he shook my hand awkwardly. Hal glared at me as he stepped behind Seren.
"Aw, c'mon. He's not going to hurt you." Seren said.
"It's not that," Hal replied. "he hurt my feelings."
Then Seren started glaring at me.
"Uh," I stood up a little straighter. "I'm sorry."
"And?" Seren insisted.
"I won't do it again?"
"And?" Hal said.
"Hal, there's nothing else he has to say. Except that he's our partner." Seren said.
"Oh, really," he seemed disappointed. "I didn't know." Hal walked away.
"I don't think I made a great first impression." I said.
"No, I don't think you did either." Seren replied.
"Ouch," I said. "Anyway, does Alastair know that you have that, I mean him?"
She was silent for a moment. "Let's just say that he hides in my dorm a lot."
"I'll take that as a no."
"Please don't rat me out," she pleaded. "I'll get in so much trouble."
"Isn't he going on the mission?" I asked.
"Yes, but we're not using a ship assigned to us from the agency. I took this as a chance to bring him. Please, he's always wanted to go, and he never gets out of that dorm room."
"Where did you get him?"
"I found his body in a junkyard. It was still in stable condition, so I fixed him up and gave him a personality chip. He's my only friend."
"What did you do to that personality chip?" Oh god. That sounded nicer in my head.
"Oh my god! My attitude is rubbing off on you," she said "No matter. I thought a quirky, polite attitude would improve mine. I think he picked up more from me than I did from him."
"I did see the way he 'glared' at me."
"You were being a jerk."
"Me?! I didn't know he'd react like that! Plus, he's the one who was giving me dirty looks."
"Maybe you should think before you speak!" Seren's voice rose. I could tell that she was ready to fight if she had to.
I changed the subject. "Shouldn't we be going on our mission?"
She took a deep breath. "Yes, but first, we need a ship."
