He stands up and catches me.
I bury my face into his chest and breathe in his familiar, smoky scent.
I've missed it so much.
He lifts my face up and kisses me, holding me by the waist.
I close my eyes and wrap my arms around his neck.
All too soon, we break away.
"I've missed you so much," I murmur.
"Are you okay? Has she done anything to hurt you?"
I want to lie, but I end up hesitating. He frowns and holds me impossibly closer.
"I'm sorry."
"F-For what? You haven't done anything."
"Exactly that. I'm sorry for not doing anything—"
"George..."
"No. I should've helped you."
"George, I—"
"Run away with me, Eleanor."
