Author FYI- If you think this story is in any way shape or form like twilight tell me and i will change it.

***************************************************************************************************************

I sit in the soft floral chair and face the mahogany vanity in my new oversized room. My face hasn't finished healing. My grey eyes still have black and blue bruises around them. My mouth is still a little lopsided from being dislocated and crushed. My lip’s healing fast you can barely tell it was swollen. I look at the heaps of mud and leaves in my hair and I think about what I've just done.

I used my power to hurt someone I really loved and I killed her. I took someone's life. I thought as the tears came. I knew that if I didn't she was going to kill me, but does that make it right. My hands tremble as I look down at them. I'm a witch we use magic to heal and give to the universe not to kill and destroy. I can feel Emerald's magic flowing through me. When a witch kills another on Harvest Moon they can absorb the others power. The flux did little to take away the pain as my body slowly healed itself.

"Natalya, are you okay?" Leona asked standing in the door way. I wish I could take it back and make this nightmare end but it's just beginning.

“I killed someone,” I cried as she rushed over to hold me. I was shaking from the pain and shock. I didn’t deserve to live when they couldn’t. I glanced up over her shoulder and through my tears I saw the bright moon, its mystic beauty whispering to me. Be at rest, be at rest. The wind crept in through the balcony door hissing its soft song. It felt like they night was welcoming me. I walked over and gently pushed the cracked doors to see my new home.

“It seems as though we weren’t the only ones who missed you, Talya,” she whispered as we watched the sky glow with shooting stars, and the waters dance with nymphs and other creatures. We live in this world of mystery and magic, just beyond the end of every rainbow across the mystic rivers, and behind the great waterfalls of Europe and South America, in a world known as Utopia.

You may be wondering how this can be a hidden world of fairy tales creatures. Well, it’s true. I grew up there, or so I am told. In this hug cottage like mansion. It overlooks the bluest ocean. That’s filled with mermaids, sirens, and other water fairies. Yet, the most wonderful things are the rainbow fish. When the moonlight hit their multicolored scales it makes the ocean glow and sparkle much like tonight. The air always seems warm and salty. The sun is big and bright. At night the moon looks as if you could reach out and touch it at Silverwolf Canyon.

This is where we live, in solitude, away from fearful mortals and they’re judgments, away from servitude and harsh treatment, where we are free and happy. And yes, there’s a down side, the dark side of Utopia, my home, the place where dark lords and evil beings dowel. The sun never rises and the cold pale white moon never sleeps. There are places where goodness and mercy are truly hard to find.   This is my home of magic and wonder. I don’t remember much of it, just Christmas from when I was four.

I wish I could get those memories back of summers by the lake and snowball fights after school. Even though I wish I could remember my past I’m confident in the future I see in front of me. It’s been a long tiresome journey, okay maybe I should just get to the story.

So, I was a not so normal girl living in Philadelphia. It was me and my bestie Luna. We both had a secret that we bonded over it joined us like sisters. She lived with me in the magical part of the city that no one knew about. She practiced with me, and we came into our powers together. Luna is the greatest friend I’ve ever had. Okay, I’m getting off topic again. So, Luna and I went to the mall to get dresses for the Fall Festival. It’s a huge masquerade we throw in the beginning of the school year for the kids that don’t celebrate Halloween.  It seemed like a normal trip to the mall until we split up. She went to look for earrings while I got our shoes. I found the cutest red stilettos for her and gold slang backs for me, when something in the book store grabbed my attention.

There I was flipping through A Man Named Dave, when I saw him. He was calling me with his eyes they glittered a soft blue-green. As he walked to me it was like everyone disappeared. I could feel my heart racing as he inched closer. He bent over and picked up the book that had slipped from my hands.

“Here you go,” he said. And that was it. I knew he was a vampire. His tone and his eyes were so dark yet so inviting. The way fear draws you to them is fatal.

“Thanks,” I said snatching the book and quickly walking away. He followed me.

“That wasn’t much of a thank you,” he snapped. Wow this one was hell bent on something. The cashier rung up my books as he asked, “What’s your name?” I was really uncomfortable with him standing so close. I could feel his body press softly into mine. His hard ads gently pressing against my back I could feel him towering over me. He had to be at least six feet tall. Panic surged through me like water through a stream.

“That’s not important,” I said not looking at him. I wasn’t going to fall for this cliché dream. That’s what happened to my mom, and she loved my dad really intensely. That is until he ran off with her friend.

“That will be thirty-two forty-nine,” the cashier proclaimed.

I went for my wallet and before I pulled it out he gave her a fifty, “Keep the change.” That was unexpected. I stood there for a moment not believing what he’d just done.

“What are you doing,” I practically screamed. The audacity of some people-I have a job, I can pay for my books. I don’t need prince charming trying to buy his way into my pants. Jerk.

“Paying for it,” he shrugged grabbing my bag. Really guy no shit. I have eyes I know what just happened.

“You don’t have to do this I have the money,” I said using my irritated voice.

“I know,” he calmly said pulling me out the door. I could feel his bicep bugging as we walked arm in arm. The teenage girl part of me kicked in for a second and my stomach got all flutter when I looked up at him and our eyes met. His auburn hair covered his eyes a little, but you could clearly see the blue-green orbs shinning back at you. His bright smile made air get caught in my throat as I gasped at his beautifully sharp features.

I snatched my arm and bag back, as the people passing by stared at us. “What do you want?” I asked too scared to move. His smile quickly faded as he noted the fear in my eyes.

“Nothing,” he sighed. “Okay that’s a lie. I want to know your name.”

“Why?” I whispered. My hands were all sweaty so I put them in my shorts’ pockets. Great I’m attracted to a vampire stalker, wonderful.

He moved in closer to me and whispered, “Because I have to know who I’m about to take to dinner.” I guess he was trying to be smooth, but that was it. All the alarms were blazing, and my natural fight or flight instance were finally kicking in. I had to get away, find a bathroom or something to hide in until he decided to find easier prey.

“Too bad, I have to go,” I said practically running from him. I wasn’t going to end up a lonely alcoholic like my mom. No man was ever going to still my heart. Especially a diseased one.

“How about I take you home than,” he said grabbing my arm. I really wish looks could kill, but he was practically dead already so what good would it of done. Maybe if I had laser vision I could burn a hole in his arm, if only that was in my realm of power.

“No,” I screamed knowing the last thing I needed, was to bring a vampire home to my mom. She’d probably kill me before I even stepped a toe on the side walk.

“Sorry I didn’t mean to offend you.” His eyes softened from that freaky intense thing they were doing before. They were the cutest grasshopper green. He seemed really…

“Okay,” I said walking away with him still trailing me. It scared me to know he could go through all this trouble just for me. Why me? Who is this guy? He seems so familiar. It seems like I’ve known him for years. No. Not a chance in hell have I ever met a vampire before. He’s evil and blood hunger, well thirsty; however you wanted to look at it. I just have to keep walking and stay with the crowed, I told myself. I saw Luna sitting with some guy and my heart jumped with relief.

“There you are,” she said turning towards me. Leave it to her to find time to shop and flirt with a very hot guy. I on the other hand, can barely chew gum and walk at the same time, and the only guys that are into me are CRAZY. Or total pricks.

“Yeah, we have to go now,” I said yanking her out of her seat. I knew she wouldn’t want to tear herself way from the new blood she’s just discovered, but this was life or death, more importantly my life or death.

She could tell there was something wrong with me. She pulled me over to the side, he didn’t follow this time. I couldn’t help but notice the new star she got shade into the bald side of her half-hawk. I loved her long curly black hair, but she got it bleach platinum blond and half shaved off. “What’s wrong, Nat?” she asked worried. Her gold eyes searched mine frantically for a second.

“That guy’s following me,” I try to say it so if by some miracle he could read lips and had super hearing he’d still wouldn’t know what I said.

“I know he’s f-ing hot!” Why, oh why does this girl think with her raging hormones? I hate being a teenager.

“You are so shallow,” I said as she violated him with her eyes.

“What’s his name?” she asked sipping her java juice.

“I don’t know, and I don’t care!”

“Why?” she asked dumbfounded.

“Oh, maybe it’s the fact that he’s a vampire!” I snapped.

She looked at him again this time with her intuition, “OMG, he is a vampire. That is so cool,” she exclaimed. I really love this girl, but man-really though. REALLY.

“Are you okay, a vamp’s after me!” I yelled.

“We are witches if you hadn’t noticed. We’re trained enough to handle things if something goes wrong,” she shrugged. Leave it to her to make light of everything. Problems really don’t exist in Lunaville, at least not for long.

“What if we’re not?” I asked. She never really thinks that far ahead.

“I dunno,” I said making a face to match.

“We have to leave,” I said grabbing her arm.

“No.”

“What do you mean NO,” I screamed as she put her hand over my mouth and looked at all the people staring at us. Yep we’re those people now, the crazy kids that get on everyone’s nerves.

“Shh, I mean let’s give him what he wants and see if it makes him go away… come on,” she said pulling me back to our table, where he was talking with his friend. “You two know each other?” Luna seemed way too happy about that. I could tell she was already planning our double wedding and naming our kids.

“Yeah,” his friend said with a warm smile. He was way less intense then the stalker, and his eyes shined a warm gold like little rays of sunshine. His black wavy hair was pulled behind him in a ponytail, that want a little pass the back of his neck, just skimming his back.

We sat there side by side, with me wedged in-between the stalker and Luna. “So can we get some names here?” Luna asked like an investigator. She was having way too much fun with this. Why couldn’t they be something harmless like elves or lost spirits, the type of things that really can’t hurt you?

The friend laughed again, so did she. “I’m Lucas and this is Trenton.”

“Well, I’m Luna or Lulu and this is Natalie,” she said nodding her head towards me as if she could mean someone else. I still couldn’t figure out why she gave them our real names in the first place.

“Natalie,” Trenton said with the sweetest look in his eyes.

“Natalie,” I repeated.

“Well let’s go somewhere private where we can talk?” Luna asked as I glared at her. You never leave the crowd. If I was going to die tonight it was going to be a mall massacre.

“How about dinner?” Lucas suggested. What’s with these vamps and trying to feed us? Maybe they want to fatten us up before they drink our blood to make it thicker and more filling, like the witch in Hansel and Gretel.

“Sure why not,” Luna said staring at me staring at Trenton. I couldn’t help it. I wasn’t in love with the kid, he just looked so damn familiar. And trust me no girl in her right mind would forget a face like that.

We drove over to an Indian restaurant and the whole ride there all I could do was mindlessly stare at Trenton. Every thought vanished, and everyone disappeared. My heart raced, as his smile widened. Why did I let her talk me into this? I asked myself.

“So, me and Nat were wondering, are you two vampires by any chance?” she asked after the waiter took our order. I couldn’t believe she asked them that. Judging by the looks on their faces neither had they. Sometimes she’s just a little too honest and direct.

“Yes, we’re vamps,” Lucas said interrupting my thoughts. My body suddenly went cold and my heart seemed to have stopped beating. I knew what they were, but hearing him say it was a different thing.

“For real,” she said raising an eyebrow.

“For real,” Lucas confirmed.

“Totally cool,” they both grinned at her comment. This wasn’t happening to me. I closed my eyes really tight and clicked my heels together three times. There’s no place like home. There’s no place like home. There’s no place like home. That didn’t work. So I did the one thing I’m really good at. Run.

“I have to go,” I said feeling really uncomfortable. I wasn’t going to do this. I know what vampires were like. I’ve spent most of my life repressing that part of me. No way was some guy going to flip my life upside down. I knew vampires were all chemicals and charm. No one ever loves them by choice. Vampires are the ultimate predators and they’re built to lead you in a false sense of safety.

“No you don’t,” Luna said holding my hand and rolling her eyes. She was tired of me making her look bad. I couldn’t stop the way I felt and I wasn’t going to try to. God gave us instincts for a reason, and I really appreciated mine.

I still left the table and Trenton followed me, “What’s wrong?” he asked grabbing my wrist and making me face him. Yep, this guy is defiantly a hard core stalker. I slowly looked him face to face; however, I didn’t dare stare into his eyes, out of fear of losing my nerve.

“You’re a vampire,” I somehow managed to whisper.

“You’re incredibly judgmental and I’m not complaining,” he said smiling his sweet warming smile. Wow that was unexpected. Touché.

“How can you say that about me, you don’t know me,” I said the look on my face not amused.

“You don’t know me either,” he said making me see his point. Great he totally flipped the script on me. “Now will you stop worrying about what I am and come eat?” he asked smiling down at me.

“I can’t,” I said looking at the ground. That alien teenage girl part of me wanted to. God he was so cute and he seemed really sweet, but I just couldn’t. I couldn’t stop feeling like this was wrong.

He brushed his fingers through my hair and it felt so good. It was like he eased every doubt and every worry just melted away. All I wanted was for him to touch me again. No, that’s how he’ll lure you to your death. Be strong don’t give in, I thought to myself.

“Come back,” he said wrapping his arm around my waist and leading me back to the table. We got half way there and I started to pull away, “Please stay,” he said rubbing my cheek.

I wanted to. I couldn’t help but want to. I had to say yes to make that anguished look in his eyes disappear. You have to be strong. It’s how they trick you. He’ll make you think you need him then he’ll over power you. The little voice in my head screamed, but somehow I knew it wasn’t true. I think that scared me most, Trenton wasn’t what I thought he was.

“Look, if you think we’re that bad, why are you willing to leave your friend with us?” he asked rubbing my shoulder and looking into my eyes.

I knew he was right. I couldn’t leave Luna, but I knew she would never give this up. A chanced to meet real vamps, no way. She would never leave if she had her way. Luna didn’t feel any real danger. Now that I was come I don’t either. My heart rate drop and I could see relief in his eyes.

“So you’ll stay?” he asked on the edge of his seat.

“Fine,” I heard the word and felt it “fine.”

He hugged me tight, and I could tell he knew I was ready to run. He hugged me like he was afraid to let me go. Then I looked around and noticed everyone was magical, pixies, witches, ghouls, and leprechauns. “Where are we?” I asked looking around.

He looked around at what I saw and smiled a proud smile, “My home, Utopia.”

“What?” I yelled as he laughed.

“We’re in Utopia.” He was really amused by my reaction this time. I had to try my hardest not to smile with him.

“Isn’t that in another dimension or something,” I said completely freaking out this couldn’t be happening, not to me.

“Yeah, kind of,” he said with a careless shrug.

“How in the world did we drive here?”

“Magic,” was all he said it was really all he needed to say. That was the only way to explain the ticking time boom that was my life.

“This really can’t be happening, I can’t be here,” I said freaking out. If my mom found out I’ll be dead.

“Yes you can, stop worrying,” he said nonchalantly kissing my hand.

“You don’t understand my mom would kill me if she ever found out,” I said more or less looking like a crazy street person as I fidgeted with my shirt and mumbled to myself.

“So we won’t let her find out,” he said sounding like Luna, or my sister Emerald.

“I have to get Lulu I’m sorry I just can’t stay,” I said looking into his sad eyes they were an endless haze of the most wonderful bluish green.

“You’re safe I would never let anything happen to you, or anyone you care about,” the conviction in his voice as he said that should have been enough. I just couldn’t shake the feeling that he was going to ruin my life. Something deep in me knows no good could come from me trusting him, yet it felt as if I couldn’t trust myself either.

“How do I know I can trust you Trent?”  I asked searching his eyes for truth.

“I’ll do whatever it takes to get you to trust me,” he said holding my hands. I’m not going to lie, but his presence did make me feel safe in a way.

“Swear on your mother’s life,” I said holding up my pinky.

He looked down at my hand and said, “That’s drastic,” then he laughed at me, “Are we back on the playground in second grade,” he added with another laugh.

“It’s not funny, and you did say anything,” I said smiling at him, “Just do it... please.”

“Anything for you,” he said wrapping his finger around mine. “I swear on my mother’s life that I will never hurt or lie to you, or anyone you love,” he said trying not to laugh.

“Good,” I said smiling back at him.

“Great, let’s eat,” he said guiding me towards the table.

“About time you two came back,” Luna said hitting me, “Would you please stop embarrassing yourself.” She was eating her chicken tandoori and shahi paneer.

“How come you’re so calm,” I asked putting my bags on the back of the chair.

“Because we’re not in any danger I feel safe and kindda at home here,” she said with a shrugged eating a fork full of my curry goat, I had to go with my raita.

“You are, everyone here is,” Lucas said staring Luna in her golden eyes. “This is where we all belong away from human fears, jealousy, and judgments.”

When Lucas said that I could feel it was true. The freeness. I could do a spell right now and have nothing to worry about. But why did they bring us here. What do they want from us? “Why bring us here?” Luna asked reading my mind.

“We thought you two would like to meet people with powers like yours.” Trenton said smiling at her. His smile was magic. Wow this crush thing is serious.

“How did you two even know we were witches?” she asked seeming seriously concerned. “We didn’t use magic or give the slightest indication we were witches, so how did you know?”

“The same way you did, we felt it. We felt the magic circling throughout you.” Lucas said smiling at Luna again.

“Is that all it was?” Luna asked flirting with Lucas.

“Yeah I’m sorry that’s it,” he said shrugging his shoulders. I hadn’t noticed his eyes shimmered gold eyes Luna; he had witch blood in him.

“They already look like newlyweds,” Trent said leaning towards me. I couldn’t help but laugh. I’ve never seen Luna this into a guy before. Maybe this relationship will last longer than it takes to crawl out of the backseat of a sports car.

“Yeah they should really get a room,” I said as he placed his hand over mine. I didn’t move my hand away. I don’t know way, but it was kindda nice to have a hot guy into me for once. Minus the fact that he’s a vampire stalker.

“So you’re not gonna be a stick in the mud anymore?” Luna wishfully asked.

“Hey if you can’t beat ‘em join ‘em,” I said taking a fork full of her desert. It was so good.

“So you like the food?” Trenton asked.

“Yeah, it’s blood free right?” I asked.

“Of course,” Trenton said laughing with me. The ease that entered his eyes made him sort of glow. His eyes shimmered and his burgundy hair glistened in the dim restaurant light.

“So where are we anyway?” Luna asked looking around the restaurant.

“We’re in what is called a sanction. It’s like an in-between holding place to cross from your world into ours,” Lucas said smiling at us.

“How do we get to Utopia?” I asked curiously.

“It is right through those doors over there,” he said pointing to the tall stain glass doors behind us. They were cut with ridges that the light seemed to radiate through. In the center of each door was a sun that appeared to dance in a circle from the light. I felt like whatever was on the other said of that door was calling to me. It was begging me to come.

“Are we allowed to go there?” I asked as Trenton and Lucas exchanged worried glances they were hoping we didn’t see. That didn’t worry me. I was done being afraid now I really wanted to see Utopia.

“If you wanna come, it’ll be great,” Trenton said enthusiastically. His smile brightened again, and the worry in Lucas’s eyes slowly faded.

“I for one wanna go,” Luna shrugged.

Than all eyes were on me, “Well it was my idea, and a brilliant one at that, so let’s go,” I said trying to match Trenton’s enthusiasm. Lucas paid for our meal as Trenton led us through the doors. The light of the sun seemed so much brighter in Utopia. Outside the restaurant were these tiny white and silver lilies that smelled of cinnamon, and some of vanilla. As we walked in to a park there was a flora sent I couldn’t recognize at first. It came from the strangest plant, “Water cusp,” I whispered as I kneeled down to smell it.

Trenton walked over to my side. “They’re water cusp. Lucas’s sister loves these flowers. In the spring right after they blossom they smell like a fresh rain fall,” he said picking one for me. As I looked up I saw the most wonderful statue of Venus ever made. It was carved out of marble and the hair molded from gold. She had glimmering, blue, jewel encrusted eyes. This looked more like art work for a museum. The gorgeous daffodils and roses didn’t seem worthy enough of its company; this statue could have put the David to shame.

Then something surprising happened. The stone seemed to be turning to flush. Her eyes found mine, and she smiled as she came off the petal stole. “Blessed be child of blood,” she said picking flowers, then skipping away.

“What in the hell just happened?” Luna asked. With her eyes looking as though they would pop out her head. I was freaked out by that and to my surprise she was too.

“That was Venus, she comes pick flowers around this time every day,” Lucas said as if it was a normal every day thing for us too.

My head started to spin as we passed the lake. In the middle of it was a floating restaurant. I had a memory of lying under the table and looking through the glass floor and waving to the mermaids that swim by, wishing I were one of them. Why did all of this seem so familiar? I’ve never been here, but why does it feel as if I never left.

“Are you feeling okay?” Trenton asked taking my hand. I hadn’t noticed I stopped walking. My legs felt like they were about to give under me.

“Umm, I’m a little dizzy,” I said putting my hand on my head. I had a throbbing headache that seemed to burn. I needed to sit down before my head exploded.

“How about we go get you some water,” Trenton said. Worry was written all over his face giving him the sweetest expression. Lucas was a little anxious looking too. Trenton insisted on caring me to our destination, and if I had the willpower to fight him I would have. Before I even consented to it I was already in his arms, so I rested my head on his shoulder.

“Thanks,” was all I could say.

We walked awhile until we reached two huge wooden doors. Trenton swiped a card and the doors slit open. He walked me up the cobble stone path to an iron garden chair. He demanded I sat in it. The cold metal against my legs made me wish I wore some pants instead of these stupid jean shorts.

“You look a little confuse,” Luna said.

“Kindda am, I guess,” I said massaging my temples. My head was a mess and I was really bummed I messed up my first trip to Utopia.

“How so?” Lucas asked knelling in front of me.

“Everything seems so familiar. It’s like I’ve been here a million times before. Yet somehow when I try to think about when and with who… I dunno. My head really hurts,” I said laying my head on Luna’s shoulder. Something in Luke’s eyes said he knew more than he was letting on. However, I still didn’t have enough energy to press it.

Trenton came back with my water and two women. They both kind of looked familiar. One reminded me of a model. She was tall and slander with long arms and hair that flow in a natural wind. Her smile was warm and bright like Trenton’s. On the other hand, the second women made my head hurt even more. She looked like one of the princesses I used to dream about. She had curly dark brown hair that looked dirty red at the roots. Her ebony skin glen in the sunlight and her eyes looked just like Luke’s, little pools of sunshine. Her smile warmed me and brought tears to my eyes, and hers. Her arms wrapped around me, and I felt overwhelmingly happy. The free at home feeling came back and I felt butterflies dancing in my stomach.

“Are you okay sweetheart?” the woman standing next to Trenton asked me.

“Yes honey, do you feel well?” the woman that was hugging me asked as she held my shoulders and looked into my eyes. Something about her eyes made my stomach knot. My mouth opened to say something to her, but my brain couldn’t find the words.

“I feel fine,” I said crying. Crying. Crying? Why am I crying? “I don’t know why I’m crying,” I said aloud.

The woman embraced me again. I felt a mothers hug. It was like getting home for my first day of school and my mom not letting me go. No matter how much I begged her. It was weird because it seemed like my memory, but it wasn’t at the seam time. What’s going on with me?

“Sorry,” she said after Lucas and Trenton gestured for her to stop. This day just keeps getting weirder and weirder.

“Natalie, Lulu that’s my mom,” Lucas said.

“I’m Natasha,” she said putting her hand on the side of my face and looking into my eyes. I could see so much relief looking back at me, and so much pain, buried under mountains of happiness.

“This is my stepmom Clair,” Trenton said gesturing to the other woman.

“It’s nice t”- my phone cut me off. It was my mom and way past my curfew. “Hello,” I said quickly pulling the phone away from my ear, because she was screaming.

“Natalie Evelyn Wood, where are you?” a very anger voice greeted me over the phone.

“Just around the corner be home soon, mom,” I said in a sweet clam voice trying to ease her worry and anger, mostly anger.

“You know you should be home by now there’s school tomorrow and you’re still grounded.”

“Mom I know and I’m so sorry I’m on my way now,” I said totally embarrassed. Judging by the look on Luna’s face she was too.

“I’ve been calling you forever you have this phone to keep you out of trouble. Now what am I supposed to think when you don’t pick up, hunh?” she asked pulling out guilt to add to my embarrassment.

“I love you mom I’m on my way home now okay,” I said trying to do a little damage control with the “L” word.

“Get home now,” she yelled

“Okay bye,” I said hanging up. “Sorry about that” I apologized.

“We should be getting you two, home now anyhow,” Lucas said holding onto Luna.

“No,” Natasha yelled causing us to stare at her. “You still look pretty sick. And I know you still feel dizzy. So why don’t you stay another moment and let me take care of you,” she said with that warm smile again.

“Natasha now isn’t a good time to do this. She has to go. Baby steps remember,” when Trenton said that it was as if he stuck a double bladed knife through her heart and twisted it.

“I know, and I’m sorry,” she said rubbing my knee.

“We all know this is hard and understand the stress,” Clair said smiling at Natasha.

“Thank you Clair, for understanding,” Natasha said handing me the cup. “Drink all of this and relax,” she said with one last hug.

“We must go,” Trenton said taking my hand.

“Bye Talya,” Natasha said rubbing my cheek.

“Bye m”- I broke off on the ‘om part. Why was I calling her mom? Everyone ignored it, but Natasha, it made her smile widen and twinkle so happy and bright.

Trenton wouldn’t let me go through the portal until I did what Natasha had asked. The mixture was fruity and tangy. Lucas dropped Trenton and I off at my house. Trenton snuck around back while I tried to cool my mom off. Eventually, she went up to bed. I felt really guilty for calling Natasha mom so I washed the dishes.  It was a good thing Jade and Emerald weren’t home because Trenton would have been waiting all day for me to wash those dishes.

“Why don’t you let me handle that,” he offered setting on the counter next to me. It was odd to think that only hours ago I was running away from him.

I looked over at him and said, “Only if you can do it without all that vampire hocus pocus.”

“Well I guess you can handle dishes,” he said with a light chuckle. He had a musical laugh that vibrated throughout his body. It was so full of bass and ease.

“I guess so too,” I said putting the sliver wear in the drawer next to him.

“How do you feel?” he asked looking down at me.

“I’m fine,” I said annoyed that he asked me that every five minutes like clockwork, “How about you dry and I wash,” I said throwing the towel on my shoulder at him.

“I would love to,” he said like I asked him to dance at prom or something.

“Where did Lucas take Lulu?” I asked looking at the phone wondering why she hadn’t called yet.

“Home I’m pretty sure,” he said taking a plate from me.

“I wonder why she hasn’t called yet?” I thought aloud shrugging my shoulders.

“I’m sure she’ll call soon,” he said smiling at me. “Are you sure you’re feeling okay?” he asked again.

“If you ask me that one more time you won’t be okay,” I said poking him with the scrub brush. I think it nice that he cares I’d just rather him not be a broken record. I’m sure I’d say something if I were going to croak.

“I’m sorry,” he said putting his hands up like I was sticking him up.

“I guess I can forgive you,” I said kissing him. I didn’t know what possessed me to do it, it just felt right. I wrapped my arms around his neck, and he pulled me closer. I could feel my legs go weak as I leaned against him. My heart raced and I thought it would burst out of my chest.

“Humph,” he chuckled as he pulled away. “Wow if I weren’t standing here right now I wouldn’t have guessed you were the same girl from the mall or dinner.”

“I feel so stupid for that. I think being friends with Lulu, just keeps me on guard. I needed a moment to relax, most vampires aren’t like you,” I smiled looking up into his wonderful eyes.

“A great deal are good people,” he said nibbling my ear.

“Good to know,” I said tilting my head as he kissed my neck.

He rubbed my arms and said, “It’s getting really late I should be going.”

“Don’t go please,” I begged as he ran his fingers through my hair. I’ve never been in this position before. I’ve never been the reckless needy girl, but something about him changed me. He felt right every part of my being needed to feel he’s presence.

”You need sleep,” he said refusing my kiss.

“Please, I’ll do anything,” I said biting my lip.

“No, that’s final,” he said with a cocky smirk. Usually an ego is a huge turn off in a guy, but Trent surely wears it well.

“Stop teasing me,” I said lightly pushing him.

“It’s a lot of fun,” he said kissing my cheek. Then his phone rung. “Hello… It’s for you,” he said handing me the phone.

“Hello,” Luna said sounding more energetic then the time she chugged a case of Starbucks coffee shots. I was sure if she exploded chunks of her would fly through the phone.

“Hello Lulu what’s going on?” I asked a little worried.

“Did he tell you yet?” She asked with excitement ringing in her voice. It made her sound like one of the chipettes, or a young Justin Bieber.

“Tell me what?” I asked looking up at him. Trenton had a guilty little smirk on his face and it looked so good.

“That he’s a total prince,” she wailed enthusiastically.

“He’s what?” I gasped in utter disbelief. Not only is this guy a crazy, vampire, stalker, but he’s a crazy, vampire, stalker prince. Why not wear a crown as you slaughter me.

“Yeah he’s a total prince,” she squealed once more.

“I’ll call you back,” I muttered through my teeth hanging up then throwing the phone at him. “When were you going to tell me you’re freaking royalty?” I snarled at him.

“Tomorrow after a real date,” he said ducking behind his hands.

He said a date with me. Wow I’ve died and gone to heaven. I’m going on a date hay. I’m going on a date ah. Hold on. He’s a prince, a vampire prince. Why go on a date with little ol’ me? “Why me?” I questioned.

“Why not you? You don’t have some weird flesh eating disease or something?” he asked backing away from me.

“No,” I mumbled playing with my fingers.

He sighed and walked back over to me. “I didn’t pick you fate did and sometimes it’s really going to suck, but I’m going to make the best of it. Do you want too?” he asked holding my hand and peering into my eyes.

I kissed him the best I had in me, but his touch held so much more power than mine. The way he applied just the right amount of presser to each kiss and the way his tongue dance with mine was just heavenly. The way his lips moved with mine, it just seemed right. We just felt right.

He brook from our kiss and said, “I have to go now,” I just kissed him again.

“Please don’t go,” I said wrapping my arms around his neck.

“Your mom’s coming back,” he said pulling away again. He looked into my eyes and rubbed my cheek. He kissed my forehead and when I blinked he had disappeared.

“You still up,” my mom said making me jump out of my skin.

“Umm, Yeah I’m heading upstairs right now, good night,” I said giving her a kiss on the cheek.

“Good night baby girl,” she said hugging me. I ran up the stairs and sighed when I got to my room. Man this was one strange day. To my surprise, as I opened my door Trenton was setting on my bed. Normally I’d be freaking out but I was really happy to see him. It was like my best friend left for the summer and now he was back.

“Thought you were leaving,” I said shutting the door and sitting on his leap.

“I wanted to make sure we’re going on that second date,” he said smiling at me. I don’t know why all of this just seems so right.

“I wouldn’t miss it for anything in the world,” I said.

“I was also hoping you would like to meet some friends of mine,” Trenton said holding on to my hand.

He looked into my eyes “You mean like lords and ladies,” I said making him laugh with my mock British accent.

“No, they’re more like homies and home girls,” he said like a teacher trying to be “down”.

“I don’t know if I’ll be able to manage that,” I said feeling slightly uneasy.

“Come on, it’ll be fun. I’m sure they’ll love you and you can even invite Luna,” he said with a warm flattering smile.

“Fine I’ll do it,” I reluctantly said, “When do I meet them?”

He took a deep breath and rubbed my arm, “Tomorrow.”

“TOMORROW,” I gasped.

“Is that going to be a problem?”

“Yeah I have school and work, and stuff,” I said looking into his eyes. They shimmered with a whimsical joy.

“You also have magic,” he said not impressed by my busy day.

“I don’t use magic outside lessons unless it’s a real emergence” I said as he smiled at me.

“Then we’ll just have to get someone else to help us,” he proposed kissing my forehead. It was cool as long as Luna wasn’t involved. Who knew what her rogue powers would do.

“It’s okay if we don’t use Luna,” I said making him laugh.

“Okay I will tell Luke to cast a spell or two, and we can spend the whole day together. It’ll be like you were never gone.”

“Luke has powers?’” I asked.

“Yeah his mom’s a witch,” Trenton shrugged.

“I dunno about all of this,” I said thinking about what was going on. I really wanted to be with Trenton and go back to that feeling Utopia gave me. I needed that feeling back. I also wanted to meet his friends, so why not? I really trust Lucas and Luna will be there. So why was I so afraid? “Tomorrow meet me at the Park around the corner okay,” I said reluctantly agreeing to go.

“Tomorrow park got it,” he said kissing me good night. I flopped back in my bed as he teleported away.
