I walk the length of the road,
Hyperaware whenever somebody turns;
In search of you, my abode,
I scan their head for your sideburns!
I tense up if they have your ear,
But they'd turn around, to be none other than a peer!
I recently learned from your internet profile,
That you're growing a moustache!
It looks good as long as it doesn't stretch a mile,
And I'll lie awake dreaming of your aftershave stash!
You're dashing, my friend,
The kind that inspires a whole generation to start a trend!
I often wonder about our timeless bond,
If you'd ever known I wanted you as a friend and beyond!
Of the books we discussed and the trivia we shared,
I always fancied that you too might have cared!
Since you'll forever be a part of me,
I endure watching people close to me guessing your name!
But you know what they say,
One element doesn't follow its peer's play!
Some days I'm in pain, just uttering your name,
I'm willing to wait longer for my walk of shame!
With you I'll happily walk on the aisle,
To you I'd forever be faithful and never fail!
Though it's a list I've said very few,
Because I'm lying awake thinking only of you!
