Here I am,
Standing strong,
Ready,
Ready to run
The hay like grass,
I hide beneath,
Till I see what I seek
Ear splitting roar,
No turning back,
Swipe,
My dinner
Mane of fury,
I see through my eyes
As I prowl back
To my magnificent pride
Rosy red flesh,
Almost all mine,
Nothing in my way,
Not this time
Biting, snapping,
My learning pride,
Cubs still playful
By my side
Night time falls,
All alert,
My world at peace
And unsuspecting
Sun spilling
Over the scene
As I pounce on prey
Too dumb to see
Another day looming,
My world still perfect
And still
