Chapter 4
I was grinning ear to ear as we walked down the hallway to calculus. I winked at the people who were staring at us with their eyes wide open and their mouth hanging slightly open. I never imagine Ty’s hand to be so muscular yet soft. It felt nice, I love the way my hand fit perfectly with his, and the way his hands kept my hand warm. I glanced over my shoulder to look at Tyler.
He was still looking at our intertwined hands and blushing lightly. I smiled at his cute reaction, I squeezed his hands to get him to look at me. I stopped walking and stepped closer to him.
“Hey you ok? You don’t look so good”
He hesitated before answering
“Y-yeah, I’m just not use to this” he said stumbling with his words
“Hmm I see” I said nodding
I let go of his hands and started walking again. Maybe that wasn’t such a good idea, obviously he’s uncomfortable doing this sort of things. I looked over at him once more, he looked hurt and confused at the same time. What the hell? Why did he look at me like that? it’s conclusive that he doesn’t like holding my hands, and I’m fine with that, kind a disappointed but I’m fine.
I walked back to him and cupped his cheeks with my palm and caressed it gently with my thumb. People stopped with what their doing and looked at us, clearly baffled. Tyler was yet again taken aback with my actions. Sheesh this boy should really get use to this, I said chuckling in my head.
“I don’t like it when you look at me like that” I said to him silently and calmly
He tensed in my touch
“I-I, I umm sorry” he said, his eyes locked with mine
I chuckled and took his hands with mine so once again we were walking together.

The afternoon went a lot better than the morning, well because Tyler was there to keep me company. I decided to continue school, yeah I was thinking of making an excuse to my dad to let me out of this but since Ty was here I changed my mind. I glanced at the clock that was above Mrs. Valenzuela, my Spanish teacher. Three more minutes till the bell rings, three more minutes and I officially survived my first day of high school.
My pathetic happiness was interrupted when I felt someone poking me on my back. I turned around to see Alex who was smiling at me weirdly. I gave her a questionable look, she just giggled. Again, weird? Maybe she forgot to mention that she was crazy?
The bell finally rang, but before I could get my entire stuff ready Alex grab my arm and sat me back on the chair.
“Tell me” she said excitedly
“What? tell you what?” I asked
“About you and that boy” she said nodding towards Ty who was talking to the teacher.
“What’s there to tell?” I asked more confused than before
“Are you a couple?” she said jumping up and down
“Couple of what?”
“Girl, stop denying it” she said rolling her yes
I looked at her, and a moment too soon I broke into laughter. Was she serious? Oh gawd that totally made my day. Maybe she is crazy, well I don’t mind having a crazy friend. But this is just f*cking hilarious. She looked at me like I was nuts. Woo I’ve seen that look before, too much to be exact.
“Oh my” I said trying to calm myself down, as I wipe a tear in my eye
“Where did you hear that crazy idea from?”
“Uh it’s going around school” she said raising her eyebrow
“Wow, people in this school are blind” I said grabbing my bag and notebooks.
I’m ready to get out of here, this is too much excitement for me to handle. Maybe tomorrow I’ll hear another rumour, beside I’m not a morning person so a good laugh can’t hurt. I stood up and walked towards Ty, but before that I turned around to look at Alex again.
“Hey Alex, spread this word around. Tyler and I are not a couple” I said trying not to laugh
She smirked “Ok, if you say so”
I gave her a playful glare and said goodbye. I walked over to Ty who was having some kind of argument with Ms. Valenzuela.
“Thank you Ms. Valenzuela” I heard Tyler said with a deep sigh
I don’t think he notice me walked up to him because he was looking down and mumbling something under his breath. I smirk, an opportunity to tease him. I sneak up behind him and trailed my forefinger on his back. I trailed it lower and lower, until he stumbled and hit the desk behind him
“Oh my gosh, you’re blushing again” I said making my voice girly
“S-shut up” he said clearly embarrassed
He stood up and rubbed the side of his hip, he was frowning and I could see that he got hurt from bumping into the desk.
“Are you ok? I’m sorry, I couldn’t help myself” I said covering my hand with my mouth
“Its fine, it’s not that bad” he said “Anyways, Why are you still here?”
“I was waiting for you” I said smiling
He looked at me shocked. Hmm odd, he should happy right?
“Not the expression I was hoping for”
“What? Oh sorry I’m just not use-” He said but I stopped him
“You’re not use to people waiting for you” I said rolling my eyes and grinning “well you better get used to it then...friend”
He smiled at me. I sighed, that smile makes my heart swell.
After that exciting event, we both head outside. There were still students here and there but not as much as before.
“Hey do you want to come to my house?” I asked as we reach my car
“Not today sorry” He said
I was kind a disappointed, but there’s always tomorrow right?
“Oh ok, maybe another time then?” I said grabbing the handle of my car and tossing my bag on the passenger seat.
“That reminds me, I can drop you to your house if you don’t have a ride”
“No I’m fine, my cousin is picking me up”
“Ok then, see you tomorrow Ty”
I started the engine and drove off. I could see Tyler waving on the side view mirror. Ah that’s cute.
When I arrive at the house, I saw my mom in the front door with a huge smile on her face. I groaned, I knew I should have gone to the bar instead of here. I parked my car in the front and walked to my mother who’s apparently the happiest person in the world. I gave her a kiss on the cheek and walked pass her but before I could go any further she grabbed my hand, pulled me to the living room and sat me on the couch.
“Mother!” I said glaring at her
“Honey!” she said mimicking me
“How was school?” She said, her eyes glittering with excitement
“Uh, it was fine” I got up, but yet again she pulled me back on the couch
“Tell me everything”
“There nothing to tell” I said irritated
“What are you talking about? Of course there’s something to tell” she said “C’mon honey, tell me” she whined
I can’t help but think if my mother is really forty three years old, sometimes people even mistake me for her sister, not just because she looks young and beautiful but the way she acts.
“Fine, I studied, I met a friend, I got into a fight with the biggest flirt in school, ate an apple, oh and lastly I went home” I said smiling casually
She looked at me and glared.
“No, something more exciting happened”
“What are you talking-” I stopped and gaze her daggers
“Oh my gosh mother, I can’t believe you” I said standing up and putting my hands on both side of my hips
“What?” she said looking away from me
I can’t believe my own mother would do this to me. sending me to a public high school, now she’s minding my own business. I love her but sometimes she makes me want to scream and jumps off a cliff.
“Sorry honey, I just can’t help it” she said pouting
“Oh no, no, no” I said waving my finger
“Don’t give me that look, I’m not going to forgive you this time” Holy f*ck , I’m so mad
“But I just wanted to see how my baby girl is doing on her first day of high school”
“I’m touch mother, but this time you went too far”
“I can’t believe you went to school just to spy on me, like c'mon who does that?” I said pacing back and forth "Oh i know who..My mother"
I heard her chuckled. I wanted to scream, I could feel my blood boiling from anger.
“You know me too well, but I can't believe you didn't notice me, my camera was flashing every 15 seconds” she said until she burst into laughter
"You took pictures?" oh gawd what's next?
"Yeah, for memories"
"Gah I give up" I said
“Don’t be mad at me honey” she stood up and cupped my cheeks
I sighed, I can’t stay mad at her forever. She’s...I don’t know, my mother. My crazy, loving mother. I sat us both down on the couch.
“Sorry for yelling”
“It’s ok dear” she said smiling.
Oh I know that look...
“You’re not going to let this go are you?” I said slumping on the couch
“Nope”
“Tell everything, start at the very beginning”
