In a city of bones
An empty shell
She stands alone
in the downpour of acidic rain
ph of 4
Her hair falls in her face.
She doesn't bother to push it away
In this dim light
A city of smog
Ashes rain down from the sky
Smothering the Earth's vitality
Slowly, one by one
We die off
Victims of our own self-induced ignorance
Victims of the blindness of others
In this empty world now
All is still and quiet
Again the world is alone
And, maybe, better off
without us.
