Blaire's POV

I wake up in a... House? This isn't right. Memories come bursting through my head and I gasp, sitting bolt upright. I'm in the Alphas house.

The room is gigantic. The walls a beautiful cream sort of colour, the furniture is all dark grey with pretty gold accents. A window seat with many pillows is along one wall and a love seat is facing a flat screen TV that can also be viewed from the bed.

I shake my head, I shouldn't be admiring the room! I should be searching for my escape route! But the smell the room held was intoxicating, compelling even. A perfect scent. My wolf was excited by it, it was the same scent the Alpha had last night.

An open door leading to the bathroom and double doors no doubt leading to a walk in closet leave one door left.

I slide out of the bed on shaky weak legs considering I hadn't eaten in so very long. I frown, seeing I'm in sweatpants that end up falling to my ankles and a giant t-shirt, coming down to mid thigh. I simply slip the sweatpants all the way off and walk out of the room.

It takes me a while before I find stairs. I bite my lower lip as it pains me to move down them, not only that it takes a whole lot of energy. By the time I get to the bottom, I'm pretty much a panting mess. I groan quietly.

I hold my breath when I hear something. Someone coming... Up? stairs. I move as quickly as I can, finding a kitchen I sink low behind the island. On the counter in a knife rack holds a big chefs knife. I grab the handle quickly before sinking back in my spot, holding the knife tightly enough my knuckles go white.

"Blaire?" Comes someone's voice, making me jump.

The voice is that same soothing voice of the Alpha. I grip the knife even tighter as Alpha Da- no, Just Darren, comes into view. I hold my breath as I look up at him, holding the knife out in front of me.

"G-Go away!" I stutter, my voice sounded so strange since I hadn't spoken in so long before... Yesterday? Or today? I don't even know.

"Blaire, put the knife down." Just Darren says softly, squatting so he's more at my level. He reaches over and pulls the knife from my grasp. Where he touches my hand there are little tingles and sparks. I can't help but be confused.

I study him. Prefect naturally tan skin, his hair black, real black. His eyes were this piercing blue that honestly were the prettiest eyes I've ever seen, not that I'd seen many. His cheekbones were high and his jaw well defined. His Adam's apple just as well defined and the muscles on his arms seemed like if he wanted, he could snap me in half.

I shiver at the thought, closing my eyes in fear.

"Blaire? I'm not going to hurt you my little one." Just Darren says in this soothing tone, or at least to me it was. But that didn't make sense. Alphas had always scared me, Alpha Darren scares me! But he was different.

I clutch my stomach as it growls. How am I supposed to escape if I'm weak from no food!?

Big arms circle me and I panic once again. I don't like being in his arms, what if he hurts me? Tears start to flow as I'm sat on a couch.

"Blaire," Just Darren says, looking pained and upset. "I'm going to get you some food, okay?"

In return I cower away from him. Making the same pain cross over his face. He walks out of the room and I let myself relax a little, only a little. I hold my stomach all the while, looking around for the door.

I jump in surprise when Just Darren comes back in, holding a bowl of little colourful circles with milk. Like tiny little donuts. He hands me the bowl and the spoon, I frown, what if he poisoned the food?

"Blaire, please eat." Just Darren says, his voice wary yet still firm. After a few moments he takes a spoonful and holds it to my mouth. Hesitantly, I open my mouth and he slides the spoon in.

The food is sweet, sugary. Something I hadn't had in a very, very long time. I chew the colourful circles before swallowing. I take the spoon from him and eat another few spoonfuls for myself. Though, after that I feel full. Too much to eat is never good and when you're always running, food in your belly was good, but it led to cramps and puking.

"Blaire... You have to finish the bowl." Just Darren says.

I can feel my eyes widen. That's way too much! I give a little shake of the head. Just Darren sighs and takes the bowl away, while he's gone I jump up and run out the other door of the room.

I find the door and I wrench it open, shifting as soon as I do and sprinting away. Running as fast as I possibly can. It seems like in thirty seconds I'm already pinned to the ground. I whimper and close my eyes but the weight disappears off me soon after.

"Luna are you alright!?" A voice asks, kneeling down next to my head. It's a man, pale skin and red hair, green eyes peering at me in concern. He was the wolf from before! The one who put me in the cell!

I look up at him fearfully and try pushing myself to my feet, but my side seemed to really hurt now. Like really hurt. Just Darren comes into view and I do my best to push myself away from him. No more Alpha encounters today! Please?

"Darren, you're scaring her...?" The ginger says, seeming both to be stating a fact and asking a question.

"I don't think she knows what mates are." Just Darren says to the ginger. Mates... The thing they were going to explain before everything went into chaos. I get up finally, ignoring the pain in my side. I take a few painful and hesitant steps away only for Just Darren to come up in front of me.

"Luna Blaire, we're going back to the house, okay?" Says the ginger from behind me. I look back at him, no clear expression on my face.

"Little one?" Just Darren says, addressing clearly only me. "Can you please shift back?"

Maybe if I try running again they'll let me go. I turn and bound away again, but in seconds I'm being pinned by the same wolf from before. Just Darren kneels down and gives me a look. I give up and shift back, doing my best to cover my nakedness.

Just Darren is watching the wolf with narrowed eyes, his gaze never leaving the wolf as he hands me a shirt. I sit up, the wolf stepping off me, and I slip the shirt on. After I do, Just Darren looks back at me.

"Stop running little one, you'll never get away." Just Darren says, earning a whimper from me. If I never get away I'm going to get hurt! Just Darren looks a little hurt, though he leans down and scoops me up.

I panic. Oh no! He's gonna hurt me! I close my eyes, expecting pain to erupt anywhere from a blow. Though none comes. I realize my body is shaking with fear and when I open my eyes, Just Darren is giving me a worried look.

"It's okay Blaire." He says. I only whimper in return, causing a look of anger to cross his face. I squirm in his grip, trying desperately to move so I wouldn't be the one he'd take his anger out on.

"Uh... Darren, want me to take her?" The other wolf asks, clearly having shifted back.

"No!" Just Darren growls.

I half scream, covering my face with my hands. Bracing myself for a blow or impact with the ground.

"Blaire? Little one, it's okay." Just Darren says frantically. "I'm not going to hurt you!"

"Darren..." The other wolf says, closer now. Just Darren sighs and I'm being passed into the other wolfs arms. I relax slightly, now further away from the Alpha. Then we start moved and I'm being carried back into the house. Ugh.

My side flares up again and I squirm a bit. I hadn't felt it before my run.

"Luna, why are you scared of us? We won't hurt you." The man says softly as he carries me into the house.

"Why haven't... you killed me?" I ask in return, the question on my mind though my voice coming out shaky. Trying to work on my speech, I hadn't spoken in so long. "And why... are you calling me Luna? Is that not what the... Alpha female is called?"

"Do you know what mates are?" The man counters with another question.

I frown as the word brings up a bad memory. "No." I never got the definition.

He sighs. "That explains it." He mutters.

"Explains what?" I ask, by now I am so confused I just wish I could read his mind to get answers.

"A mate is the person you're destined to be with." The man explains and I automatically stiffen, waiting for the rogues and the angry alpha. But none of it comes. He opens his mouth to continue but I interrupt.

"There's... No rogues." I frown suddenly. I roll out of his arms and land on the ground on my bottom. I stand up shakily and take small steps as I look around trees. My side hurt, but not as much anymore. "Where are they?"

"What are you talking about Blaire?" Just Darren asks, his voice laced in confusion.

"Last time..." My speech I could tell is really not up to par, as I seem to forget how to word my sentence.

"What do you mean last time little one?" Just Darren asks, coming up beside me as I stop looking. I lean away from him, taking a few steps away.

"When momma... tried to explain... The rogues." I whimper, pulling at my hair as the memory hits my mind hard.

"Woah, woah," Just Darren wraps his arms around me, I am not even in the right mind, I don't push him away. "It's okay Blaire-Bear, it's okay." He runs his hands up and down my back soothingly and slowly I calm down.

"Can you tell us what happened?" The other man asks behind us.

"At... House?" I say quietly.

"Home." Just Darren corrects. "At home."

I walk this time, walking between the two men. I still feel scared, but less now. Just Darren hasn't hurt me yet, the ginger man hasn't either. They both are kind to me and walk at my slow pace. But I cannot trust they won't hurt me in the future.

After we're inside, Just Darren wraps me in a blanket. It covers my bare legs and I can't help but feel relieved.

"Just Darren?" I ask, deciding I'm brave enough to ask. The ginger man laughs at me and I frown.

"No, Blaire, it's not Just Darren, it's Darren." He says simply. "But what is it?"

"Can I... Drink?" I frown, that didn't sound right. "Can I have a drink?" I rephrase, smiling to myself knowing I got that one right. My mind was still in the dialogue of my seven year old self who even then just rather spoke through my mind link.

"How long has it been since you last spoke?" The ginger asks curiously.

"Many moons." I reply. "Last time was... Was when rogues came."

"I'll get you a drink." Darren says, leaving and soon coming back with a glass of water. I take it and sip the liquid happily. Darren hasn't hit me yet, maybe I can escape later since he is so nice.

"What is... Your name?" I ask the ginger man.

"I'm Beta Erik. Just call me Erik though." The ginger smiles.

I offer a small smile back. "I am... Beta daughter."

"Really?" Erik asks, surprise flickering across his face. "Who's your father?"

I don't answer. I didn't want to talk about it right now. I didn't want to talk about the bad memories or James.

Instead, I close my eyes. I didn't wish to speak to anyone. It's frustrating because it's so difficult. I can't form proper sentences, some words I doubt I can even pronounce. It had been eleven years... Eleven years of being a rogue.

Darren reaches out a hand and I cringe away. He sighs and pulls his hand back. "How old are you?"

"Eighteen." I reply quietly, trying to sink away from him in my seat.

"I think I'll call my mate in..." Erik says, his eyes clouding over.

Darren looks at me, sad blue eyes focus on mine. "We'll get you all cleaned up."

What's that supposed to mean?
