Damon's POV:

I was on the way to the 'secret location' we would keep Klaus's body at. Stefan had left, because we had to go back and keep Elena safe, blah blah blah, because Jeremy had put her in the hospital, where Allaric could easily reach her.

Stupid Gilbert.

As I drove along, I couldn't stop thinking about whether Elena would choose me or Stefan, if it really came down to it.

I had helped her through so much, and took care of her whenever my brother went all haywire.

And I was the one, who could make the hard decisions. The ones, that could make her hate me forever, but I knew that she would be safe. Stefan had never been that strong.

I had been rocking out too loud music, getting in the original-slaying mood, when I got a call from Stefan. Oh god, what now.

I answered. "Hello brother. Good news?"

He sighed. "It's Elijah. He's here to help."

I raised an eyebrow, and put the phone on speaker, to concentrate on driving.

"Proceed." I grimaced.

Abby's POV:

Elijah was helping the Salvatores and Elena. I always knew he was gracious, and wasn't a killer like his siblings. But they had just locked up his brother. He must have been using a lot of self control.

He started talking as we all sat down at the table, Damon on speaker phone, listening in from the car ride.

"All we need is to take that stake away from him. Once he's disarmed, the weapon in my possession, my family will scatter to the ends of the Earth. And Alaric." He looked over at Elena. "Will follow us."

My heart dropped when he said they would 'scatter'. Of course, I would go with him. I had fallen too deeply in love with this man to back out now.

Stefan came over and sat down. "And you'll just, run?"

"We've done it before." Elijah explained. "Klaus and Rebekah spent the better part of a thousand years evading my father. What's another half century while Elena's able to live out the rest of her natural life."

Elena sighed. "We've finally stopped him Elijah. After everything that he's done to us, I can't just let you, bring him back."

I growled on the inside. She didn't know family love like the Mikaelsons then.

"I give you my word, Elena. I will not revive Klaus within yours, not even within your children's lifetimes." He frowned. "Perhaps that will finally teach him some manners."

Matt shot back. "Why should she trust you? All you've done is screw her over."

Elijah looked up.

"And for that I'm deeply ashamed." He demanded. "But know this. She could've been dead the instant I walked through that door tonight."

That was true. I smirked at this, luckily no one noticed. He carried on.

"So Elena. I leave it to you, to make the decision. Whether to trust me or not."

Damon suddenly burst through the other side of the phone call.

"Not! Hello? Did that concussion give you brain damage? His lunatic siblings will kill you the first chance they get!" He cried out.

Elijah grinded his teeth together. "Rebekah and Kol will honour the terms. If you return Klaus's body to us, Elena will come to no harm." He looked back up at me, now just noticing I'd been there the whole time.

He grabbed my hand, and pulled me in to stand next to him, earning a strange stare from Stefan. He looked back from my face, to the doppleganger.

"So do we have a deal." He asked slowly.

Damon burst out again.

"NO! No no no no, did I mention, no!"

Stefan frowned, deep in thought. "Elena, it's up to you."

Elena looked back at him in disbelief.

"Oh come on!" Damon yelled out, exasperated that Stefan had let the one girl, who always made the wrong decisions, make this one.

Elena just looked back at my boyfriend.

"Why do you want Klaus's body?" She frowned.

Elijah kept a straight face. "He's my brother. We remain together."

I coughed, trying to hold down a laugh. She was pretty stupid for not seeing this reason. I found this whole affair hilarious to be honest. Elijah's grip around my hand tightened, as if warning me to be quiet. I hushed up.

Elena took a deep breath, and let out a long, drawn-out sigh.

She looked into the Mikaelson's eyes.

"We have a deal."

I mentally danced in relief. I smiled at Elijah, as he grinned back at Eleana.

I ran my fingers through his hair, and sat down on his lap. I hadn't seen him in a few hours actually. Well, it felt like ages.

He kissed me on the cheek. And we started talking. Talking about what we had missed while we had been apart, which was only a bit but felt like forever. Whatever our feelings were about Klaus, and about his actions. I didn't realise how much Elijah's voice calmed me down.

Stefan, went off to make some calls, and Matt left the house, obviously realising Elena was healed by now. The Gilbert just watched us intently. As if disbelieving that we could be together.

Maybe she should look at her and Stefan. Human and a vampire. Hmph. But I was getting quite pissed off about her staring. When I knew she was watching, I grabbed his face, and pulled him down into a long, hard kiss. He knew what I was doing of course. But he went along with it. I think he missed me just as much as I had missed him.

Damon's POV:

When Elena had muttered that final promise to the original, I let out a string of curse words, before slamming the phone shut, ending the call. There was set of rules to handle the Gilberts.

1. Do NOT put them in charge of big decisions.

2. Do NOT leave them alone when a big event has happened. Especially one that could get them killed.

And, a recently acquired one I had made, after Elena finding my stash of Stefan huntings, when he was going all bloodlusting.

3. Do NOT try and hide anything important from them. They WILL find out.

It was their annoying curious little ways. They were humans in a world full of vampires and they were way to overconfident. Actually, I was truly suprised that they hadn't gotten themselves killed yet.

But I guess Jeremy had the nifty little death ring, and Elena; well she had me and Stefan.

When Kol went along to Jeremy's new town, and pretended to be buds with him, that was pretty risky. Luckily it was me, that the Mikaelson had smashed with the baseball bat. Aluminium coating it was. Lucky I heal fast.

As I thought back to all the bad near-death Gilbert experiences, I realised I was almost at my destination. The old warehouse full of hundreds of roll up storages. I had got a text straight after the phonecall, saying barbie original would meet me there, to collect her brother.

Of course. She was the one that adored him. Bonnie had to come to put the spell on him aswell, we needed Alaric not to find him, and that needed some witchy help. I pulled into the track, and started down to the large building.

By the time I had safely packaged the original into a storage locker, I hopped out to wait by my car, and Bonnie appeared in front of me. We went down the elevator, hopping out into the large corridor, jam packed with garage-style roller doors.

I squinted. "You know, I'm not halfway out of Virginia, and Elena sells our souls to the originals."

Bonnie rolled her eyes. "It was her call."

I scoffed. "You know what else is her call? Everything bad, ever!"

Bonnie sighed. "Where's the body, as long as it's not hidden, Alaric is one witch away from finding it."

I flicked a glance back at her. "Kid me. I was gonna use unit 666, but" I chuckled. "I feared that'd be a little too obvious. Sooo... 1020."

I gestured to the locker we had stopped at.

"A fridge, a few birdcages, a box of old playboys,"

I slid it open with a bang, and the witch flinched.

"One beef jerky-fried original."

Elijah's POV:

After younger Gilbert had lied to Alaric about the whereabouts of Klaus, me and Abby just had to sit around and wait for everyone to do the work. She decided that it was too cramped up at the Gilbert's, so we moved back to my brother's mansion.

When we got there, she collapsed on the sofa, looking exhausted. I smiled at her sleepy eyes.

"Are you alright? It's been a rough day hasn't it."

I sat down next to her, pulling her to lay on top of me. She cuddled into me with a yawn.

"Sure has. Bloody Elena. She always has to make everything so hard."

I smirked at this comment. I had natural feelings for Elena, she looked like Tatia, but I knew I would never feel the same way about a doppleganger again.

I brushed Abby's hair with my fingers. It was her I loved now. And a lot more than I had ever loved a Petrova.

"At least it's sorted now. As long as Rebekah sticks to the deal to meet up with Damon."

She grinned. "I guess we can count on that, her sisterly love for Klaus and all."

She then rolled over to look up into my eyes. Abby kissed me once on the lips. "I think." She kissed me again. "we should." and again. "have some fun."

I rolled my eyes at her, but kissed her back. I did want this as badly as she did, but maybe now was not the time. What, with a vampire killer, my brother staked, and the Salvatores all holding a deal to me.

Maybe this would take my mind off things.

I zipped up and pushed her against the wall, kissing her intensely, letting her hands roam my body as mine roamed hers. She smiled. "I knew you couldn't resist me." She winked.

I growled in her ear. "Never."

I kissed her even harder, then started pulling her upstairs, while still making out.

I was the polite family member, I did have a reputation to uphold. The bedroom would have to do. As we reached my large room, lit by the overly large chandelier, I slammed my door shut behind me, and pulled the love of my life onto my bed.

I hope you liked this chapter! I really like this story at the moment!

After the season 3 storyline finishes, I might not go into season 4, just make up a new storyline for this fanfiction.

Suggestions? And also suggestions for my other book, about whether I should stick with the storyline to that.
