It was a split-second reaction. The van came back up the corner, its car windows down. They were muttering something neither Drake nor Alyx heard, but they sensed that something was wrong. It came to a stop, and suddenly, they were face to face with a tranquilizer dart gun.
" Come with us, nice and quietly, and you'll live. Otherwise..." It was a gruff voice that chuckled.
Drake felt a lump in his throat. He swallowed. A man with a mask on stepped out, then came towards them." We just want the girl. Just give her over and---"
"' Give her over!'" Alyx shouted in outrage. "I'm a human being, bubby! so don't treat me like I'm your treasure!" She scoffed "' Give her over.' Pssht!"
The next thing she knew was the smell of chroloform on a cloth. It was split second timing when she sucked in air and held it. She had to get air, and then she took a whiff of air and was immediately knocked out.
Drake just gaped. Then, at the top of his lungs, he shouted. "HELP!! I'M BEING KIDNAPPED!" Then the dart hit his neck, making Drake pass out.
