"Um, Naruto-kun?"
He looked at me, "Yeah?"
I rubbed my head, "I-I don't really understand. What did you mean 'we don't swing that way?' And all the other things you shouted at Sai."
He stopped walking and looked back at me, "You didn't get it?" I shook my head. "Well, um." He paused rubbing his head, his face growing a pink. I ignored the urge to check if he had a fever as I wanted to know what had happened. "He was hinting that us three..." He trailed off.
Some bushes rustled, both of us go back to back instantly. I glanced to the bush that was moving, my hand going to my weapon pouch. Quickly, I softly tossed a marked kunai in front of Naruto, luckily he didn't notice it.
A hog jumped out, quickly Naruto threw a kunai at it. Just barely he missed the hog's head. He stared at the animal for a moment before smiling. "A warthog?"
Slowly the animal met Naruto's eye, quickly I grabbed my kunai and Naruto's hand, then I began running. The hog was close behind, seeing this Naruto started screaming.
"Naruto-kun! You're going too slow!" I shouted as he tried to avoid tripping over tree roots.
Looking back we both failed to notice the small ledge, leading us to falling on our faces. Although Naruto had fell over me, my eye started to twitch at his weight. 'Here I thought he was skinny, with this weight I would think he was bigger than Choji!'
"Naruto-kun," I mumbled, "You're getting too heavy, maybe lay off the ramen a little?"
"Huh?" He mumbled, his head clearing slowly to realize he was laying on me. Quickly, he scrambled up, "S-Sorry Yuki-chan, Dattebayo!"
A sigh left me as the weight was lifted off of me, my head looking up from the dirt. I noticed a broken seal in front of me, picking it up I stood up beside Naruto. Naruto took the seal from my hands, "Hmm... I've seen this before."
"It's barrior seal." I said, brushing grass of of me. Finally looking up I knew that this must be one of the graves.
"Could this be...?" Naruto whispered, "A hidden tomb?"
Naruto walked along the edge of the square cement, or as most called it, the tomb. I stood in the same spot, refusing to get any closer. Naruto looked around it, then noticed something. "Hey! Yuki-chan! Come on!" He shouted pointing at the hole.
"No way!" I stated, my arms crossed firmly across my chest. Turning and facing the other direction I made sure I wouldn't have a chance of seeing Naruto's puppy look, if he tried it again.
"Oh, c'mon Yuki-chan. It's not that bad!" I stayed still. "There could be some grave robbers." I didn't budge from my spot still. "You can have first hit at them." My ear twitched as I slowly turned around.
One eye narrowed, "Promise?"
He grinned, "Yeah!"
I ran over to him quickly, a grin on my face He jumped when I appeared beside him, my full speed showing. "Okay then, Naruto-kun! Let's go!"
Naruto held a light as we made our way down the stairs. We stopped at the tomb of somebody. Well, where the coffin was supposed to be anyway.
"We're too late, the coffin's gone." Naruto murmered my thoughts.
Footsteps were heard, I pulled a kunai. "Who's there?" Naruto and I demanded.
A boy around our age stopped at the end of the hall. My eyes narrowed, 'He almost looks like a...'
Wind blew around, setting my on guard. Quickly, I performed hand signs, "Crimson fruit!" Crystal formed a protective dome over Naruto. Just when I knew he would be safe, the winds got stronger. Putting chakra to my feet I was barely ably to stay on the ground.
The boy glared at me, "Take this! Beast wave strike!"
I threw my arms to my face, my chakra consternation lost as I was thrown to the roof. The blade of air just missing me, but hitting the roof. With that one blow it knocked down the roof. I threw a kunai up in the air, hoping it would land on the grass outside. Then, I released the seal I put on Naruto earlier, a habbit I seemed to have every time we had a mission. Grabbing onto him, I released the other seal, luckily it had landed on grass. My crystal jutsu already gone, pieces on stone collapsed fully.
Throwing another marked kunai at the boy, I ran towards him. Timing it perfectly, I appeared in front of him catching the kunai. He blocked me with three blades that he wore on his hand. My eyes widened as I saw him add chakra into his blade, like Asuma's. He slashed at me, flying back I winced at the three slashes he was able to make in my stomach.
"Yuki-chan!" Naruto caught me, then performed a handsign. "Shadow clone jutsu!"
I keeled down to the ground, holding my stomach. My hands glowed green as I tried to heal myself, although it stopped when Naruto grabbed me and jumped.
I noticed all of the clones had been attacked, and were now gone. "Hey! Do you have the wind ele-"
"Repent now. I'll give you three seconds." The boy ordered, a smirk forming when we said nothing. "Time's up. Time for your punishment."
"What the hell is with this guy?" Naruto growled. "You're the one who's getting punished! Shadow clone jutsu!"
'Repent? Wait- is he a monk? If he it, then we're fighting the wrong person!' I looked up just as the boy blocked Naruto's punch with a beast arm. My eyes locked onto the arm.
"Beast wave violent wind strike!" He shouted.
It pushed Naruto back. "Naruto-kun stop! I think he's a monk!" I shouted running to him, one hand still on my stomach wound, which I still had yet to heal.
"Die!" The teen shouted.
"Stop it, Sora!" He stopped, his face shocked.
Naruto and I looked over and smiled. Looking back at the blonde I locked him over. "You okay? You're not cut are you?"
He shook his head, "No, I'm fine. But Yuki-chan, your stomach."
"It's okay, I'll heal it in no time." I smiled.
He stared at the cut on my stomach, his expression still worried. "You sure? Maybe Sakura should look at it?"
A small tinge on irratation filled me. "I'm sure, Naruto. Remember, I know medical ninjutsu. I can heal myself, thank you."
"Naruto! Yuki!" We turned to see Sakura, who was running towards us.
Finishing with my bandages I looked up at Yamato and the monk. Naruto stood beside me as the teen looked at the older monk.
"Chiriku-sama, you were right to be worried. I got worried about the hidden tomb on the way to meet out guest, and came to investigate. When I did, the barrier had been torn down, the coffin stoled, and those two were inside." He looked at Naruto and I.
Naruto glared at the teen, "Hey! Are you trying to pin your crimes on us? You're the real thief, aren't you!"
The boy got closer to Naruto, his fist raised. "What are you saying? You were in the tomb first!"
Before Naruto shouted back, I walked between the two, pushing them apart. "You two, calm down! Naruto-kun, this boy is obviously innocent, besides he was there after us. It makes sense that he would think it would be us." I turned to the other boy. "And you, I know you must think it was us, but when we arrived to the tomb, the barrier had been already taken down and the coffin gone. Also, as you can see, we are leaf ninja's, sent here to help you guys."
I gave a small apologetic smile, "I'm sorry for attacking you. I'm sure Naruto-kun is too, he just wont admit it."
Naruto didn't say anything on my comment, he was too busy staring at me. A goofy smile on his face, red dusted on his cheeks. Before I could say anything though, they both started shouting again. My smile dropped as they seemed to ignored me. With my eye twitching I looked at Yamato the the monk. "You two handle them."
I walked over to Sakura and Sai, my arms crossed over my chest. I turned as they both fell silent. A snicker escaped me when I saw Yamato holding Naruto and the monk doing the same to the other boy.
Sakura looked at my stomach, a smile forming. "You did a good job on healing and wrapping your stomach, Yuki-san."
I huffed a little annoyed. "What's up with you and Naruto? You both seem to think I can't take care of myself or something." I pouted angrily.
A small guilty smile replaced her other one, before she could say anything though Sai spoke up, flipping through a book. "It seems to be that Sakura and Naruto care about you-" He stopped talking by a look from the pink-haired girl.
As we fell silent we turned to look at Yamato and the Monk. "Brethren from Konoha, I am Chiriku of the Fire Temple." The Monk said, putting the younger one down, Yamato followed his example. "I apologize for the mistake in establishing the meeting point."
Chiriko placed a hand roughly on the teens head. He pointed to us, "Their the guest? From Konoha?"
Naruto pointed at the other teen, "So he's...?" He looked at Yamato, who nodded to his unspoken question. Then he slowly turned to me. Rubbing his head sheepishly he said, "Sorry for not listening, Yuki-chan."
"Uh huh." I murmured, my arms still crossed.
"This is Sora, a monk in training, also from the temple." Chiriko said.
"Sora is it? I am the captin of this team, Yamato. This is Naruto, and..." He looked at us.
With a sigh I gave a smile, "I'm Yuki."
"I'm Sakura," She smiled.
"My name is Sai."
Sora turned to Chiriko, "I already said it, didn't I? We don't need help from Konoha!"
"Sora." Chiriko's voice was warning.
Two monks came running towards us, "Chiriku-sama! Kitane-sama's coffin had been stolen, with no traces of forced entry. To break the barrier so easily, they must be extremely capable shinobi."
Chiriko sighed, looking at Sora. "If the enemies are that skilled, we definitely have good reason to call on Konoha for help. He looked back at the other two monks. "You two go back and make arrangements to defend the remaining three tombs. Also, strengthen the temples security, and start preparations for an emergency situation."
They nodded, the monk looked at us. "Let us return to the Fire Temple now."
I walked over to Naruto, who was glaring at Sora. He looked at me, his eyes growing bigger. "You do forgive me right, Yuki-chan?" I froze under his puppy eyes, his bottom lip quivered. Quickly my annoyance and anger faded and turned into a strange bubbly feeling in my stomach.
"Y-Yeah, I forgive you, Naruto-kun." A sigh escaped me, my face heated up as I looked away from the blonde. He cheered and continued to walk beside me, a little closer than normal though.
End of chapter 21! I'm sorry for the wait, but as I did say in the last chapter it may be a while before I upload. I'll try to upload by next Friday though :) And for anyone who had been reading the manga online, I'm so happy! I won't say anything though, for the people who aren't reading the manga online. Anyway, how was this chapter? I know it is not very long, but I still wanted to upload a chapter for you guys anyway. I would love it if I could get a lot of comments :) and votes! If any of you have a story that you want me to read, just tell me. I'm always looking for a good story to read.
