can you go read my new book "My English Boyfriend Suddenly Knows Spanish" plz? i need feedback because i'm not sure if my writing is any good and i might cry if no one comments even though i have over 200k reads on this book and a lot of comments already saying my writing is, in fact, good. but i decided to post a new story to test ur loyalty anyway.
first person to write a full paragraph comment about how awesome my writing is for "My English Boyfriend Suddenly Knows Spanish" will get a character in this book.

You may think I'm making this up. Sadly I'm writing this rant because I saw this just this morning.
Honestly? I think it's vile.
Using the success of one book to promote another book isn't bad. In fact, I think it's very smart. BUT there is a proper way to do it. And using an author's note JUST to talk about your other book smack dab in the middle of a story IS NOT THE PROPER WAY.
But more than that, trying to make your fans feel bad by saying you'll cry if they don't read your book? Stop. Just stop. That is a noob move to pull.
Oh, and bribing readers for comments?
Just get off the internet.
